Washington Nationals Baseball

Once again Washington cannot score any runs. We were shut out by the Baltimore Orioles 1-0
and them 4-0. No way we can win like that. Josiah Gray pitched a great first game, but no support.
Ward was good in the second game but we came up with no runs again. Washington actually got
more hits then Baltimore. Off day today, then we go to Minnosota for 3 games.

It was really cold in Minnesota, not great baseball weather at all. Hey, its no fun to play in 30's temperatures. Washington won two of the three games from the twins. That was great, a series win. This year in MLB, all 30 teams will play every other team. I think that is great. Next we are in New York to play the Mets for three games. with an off day today.

Last nights game in New York was great. Josiah Gray pitched 6 innings of shutout baseball, and the Nat's
beat the Mets 5-0. Thompson pitched 3 innings of scoreless relief. Lots of power for Washington. Kiebert Ruiz had a solo homer in the second inning to put us ahead ; and Washington scored 4 more runs to pad the lead, Meneses and Garcia each had 2 RBI's. Two more games with the Mets, today and tomorrow.

Lots of runs scored last night in New York, with the Mets coming out on top 9-8. Washington was ahead
8-7 after a bases loaded home run by CJ Abrams in the 8th inning but the Mets came back to win.
Washington won the series 2 games to I. I heard that Washington came back tn the AMTRAK train last night
late. Today was supposed to be the beginning of 3 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates but its been raining all day here and tonights game has been postponed. Guess we get a doubleheader tomorrow.

In the first series of the home stand, Washington managed to win 1 out of 3 games. The first game was not a blowout but the second sure was. The score of the second game was 16-1. Quite a rout. Josiah Gray had a good game in the 3rd. contest and we won that game. Now 3 games with the Chicago Cubs.

Great day, Washington had a walk-off home run this afternoon by Alex Call to win the 4th game of the series with the Cubs 4-3. Washington won last night and the day before to win the series 3 games to 1. We actually have a three game winning streak for the first time this year.
Tomorrow we start a 3 game series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.

Wow, the Nats only managed one win in Arizona but it was a good one. They lost the first game 4-1. Last night we scored 5 runs in the ninth inning to take a one run lead. Arizona scored 2 runs in their half of the inning to win. Tonight was different. Washington came from behind with 3 runs in the ninth to take the lead on a Meneses home run, giving them a 9-8 win after Hunter Harvry shut down the D-backs in their ninth.

We won another series. Washington beat the Giants 2-1 in the series, ended yesterday. Good hitting combined with good hitting will work every time. Shame that we cannot put together that combo more often. Today is an off day.
Tomorrow starts a 4 game set with the New Mets.

Tough trip to Miami. We lost all 3 games to the Marlins by 5-4, 4-3 and 5-3. A timely hit in a few situations and we could have easily won 2 games. Strange schedule quirk and Washington is back home for 3 games against the Detroit Tigers. Hope things are at home are better. In a bright spot Corey Dickerson has come off the injured list and should provide some much needed hitting.

We won 2 out of 3 from Detroit. Nice to win a series. The Tigers won the first game 8-6, then the Nats won 5-2
and 6-4. Corbin and Gray got pitching wins for the last 2 games. Gray only game up 3 hits, impressive.
We have an off day today, then three games with the Padres.

Almost. Washington split the first 2 games with the Padres and it looked like we going to take the rubber game to win the series. We were ahead by one run with the Padres down to there last batter. 2 men on and 2 outs in the ninth inning.
Then boom, home run and the Nats would end up losing 8-6. Ouch. Now on to Kansas City and the Royals for 3 games.

Okay, Washington lost the first 2 games of a three game series to the Dodgers in LA. We came back strong in game 3
in the late innings with multiple home runs and won by a score of 10-5. Works for me. Home now with a day off on Thursday. Philly for 3 games next.

Played 3 games with the Phillies over the weekend. We won the first game , but ended up losing the next 2 games.
In the third game ex Nationol Kyle Schwarber killed us. He had 2 homeruns and batted in 5 total runs.
Nice day. At least ex Nat Harper was held hitless. The final score was 11-3. Ouch. Day off today, then the
Arizona Diamondbacks come to town for 3 games.

Today was an awful day in Washington. The Nationals lost the first 2 games of a three game series at home to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Today in Washington we had some of the worst air quality in the world along with New York and Philadelphia. Fires in canada are the cause, with winds sending smoke down the east coast. Todays game with the DB's
was postponed because of the air quality. Next we go to Atlanta to play the Braves 3 games.

We escaped with a win. The Nationals broke their 6 game losing streak in Atlanta, winning the third game by the score of 6-2. We actually got two -2 run homers in the same inning and a total of 5 runs in the sixth inning. Dominic Smith had a 444 homer. Off today, then on to Houston for 3 games with the Astros.

Our return to Houston was less then steller. At least in the covered stadium the Nationals were out of the 100
degree heat. Washington lost the first 2 games but managed to win last nights 10 inning game 4-1. Back home tonight
for a 3 game series with Miami.

This is getting old isn't it. Washington lost all 3 games to the Miami Marlins over the weekend, Not blowouts , one even close but in the end, all loses. The scores were 6-5, 5-2 and 4-2. Washington is close to leading the league in 1 run loses.
Today we start a three game series with the St Louis Cardinals. Hope we do better,

Today is Thursday. Yesterday Washington completed a 3 game series with the St.Louis Cardinals, We lost the first
2 games by the scores of 8-6 and 9-3 but managed to win yesterday 3-0. That in only Washingtons
second shut out all year. Today is a one day make up game with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Rainy day here so I don't know if they will be able to play.

Washington lost their one game make-up with the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday 5-3. It was a really sloppy game.
The Nats made alot of bad plays and basically gave the game away. The home plate umpire made some really terrible strike calls way out of the strike zone. Davy Martinez ,to his credit, got in the umpires face over the awful calls
and got thrown out of the game. His first ejection this year. Good job Davy! Now across the country to the west coast
to play the San Diego Padres for 3 games.

In San Diego we won a series. Washington beat the Padres 2 out of the 3 games to actually take the series. We lost the first
game by the score 13-3, pretty bad. Came back to win the second game 2-0, our third shut out of the year. The Nat's
snagged the get-away game 8-3. Now we are in Seattle for 3 games.

Washington was off yesterday. The 3 game series in Seattle ended with the Nationals winning 2 out of the three
games. Corbin pitched great in the third game. That makes Washington 4 and 2 for the road trip so far.
Tonight we start a 3 game series with the Philadelphia Phillies. 2 more wins would be great.

Things are looking up for Washington lately. We just won 2 out of 3 games from the Philadelphia Phillies. That gives us a 6
and 3 record for the road trip and we are 7-3 for the last 10 games. Any team in MLB would be happy with that.
Josiah Gray, pitcher, was just named to the All-Star game ,great news. I hope someome on the list witldraws and Lane
Thomas gets the nod. He deserves it. Now 4 games with the Reds here in Washington.

Watched last night's game against Cincinnati! What can I say... Yeah, they lost 2-3, but the Reds are playing unbelievable, especially on the road. But I can say the Nationals played very competitively!

Yes, sadly. The Nat' s lost all 4 games to the Reds. They are probably the hottest team in MLB. We were close
to winning the last game in the ninth, but came up short. The Texas Rangers are in town now for a weekend series
now. I am going to tomorrows 4:00 game.

Great, Washington managed to beat the hot Texas Rangers 2 out of 3 games. I was at last nights game that
we won 8-3. It was great to be there, the Nat's scored 4 runs in the first inning, 3 in the second and 1 in the
third. 8-0 before Texas scored. I really enjoyed being there. A big beer was 9.00. dang. Baseball will be on a week long break for the Allstar game and tonight is the MLB draft. News to follow.
