I know how you feel. I was a kid back in 1958 and the Washington Senators moved from Washington to Minnesota. I thought it was the end of the world. How could they possibly do that to me? Then in 1960 we lucked out and got an American league expansion team.
Baseball was back. In 1970 the new version of the Senators moved again, this time to Texas to become the Rangers. I was once again without my Senators. I live in Silver Spring Maryland, about 30 minutes from old RFK Stadium in Washington. I was without a team again.. About the end of the 70's I actually became an Orioles fan. It took that long. I went to several games a year first to Memorial Stadium and later to new Camden Yards .I saw Cal Ripken during his 2131 year and watched on TV as he broke the record. Then in 2005 the Expos moved to Washington. 33 years later I had a home team again, the Nationals this time which the past Washington teams were called from time to time. Yea Nats!. It took almost 10 years for me to support Baltimore and 1 day to come back to Washington. I really support them. Last year was magical and I will remember the World Series win fondly for the rest of my life.
Sorry that we ended up with your Expos but I really appreciate you loaning them to us. I hope you got some enjoyment out of the World Series.
Go Nats!
