Washington was in sunny Los Angeles today for a series against the Dodgers. Joe Ross pitched a great game for Washington but LA's pitchers were also very good. LA won the game 1-0. Washington outhit LA 8-4 but the Dodgers got the only run on a Turner home run. Hope tomorrow is better.

Last nights game ended way past my bedtime. I didn't miss much. The Nats lost in LA to the Dodgers 9-5, the bright spot being that Juan Soto hit 2 homeruns. Let's hope that there are many ,more .There is a day game today and Max Scherzer is pitching for Washington.

Lost all 3 games to the Dodgers. That's tough to take, terrible start to the season.
1and 5 record, Now we will be in St. Louis to play the Cardinals. Washington always seems to have a tough time in Busch Stadium.

Last night Washington beat the Cardinals 5-2. It was the first time in 5 games that the offence backed up the pitching, We needed that to stop the bleeding. Tonight is game 2 of the series. Stephen Strasburg is pitching for Washington. Last night is was great too get the 3 starters back from Covid isolation. Josh Bell, Kyle Schwarber and Josh Harrison. We really missed them.

Washington lost to Cardinals 14-3 last night. The game was reasonably close until the 5th inning when the cards scored 9 runs. A real blowout. Strasburg took the loss.
Today was a get away day game because Washington is coming home. The Nats won six to nothing behind Joe Ross. Ryan Zimmerman had a 2 run homer. Big loss last night and big win today. Next, the Arizona Diamondbacks come to Washington for 4 games.

Arizona and Washington finished a 4 game series today. Washington won 2 and Arizona won 2. That 3rd win would have been nice but not to be. Stephan Strasburg was supposed to pitch but has a shoulder injury and has been placed on the 10 day injured list. That is terrible news for us. Strasburg will probably miss 3 starts.
It's going to be interesting to see how they fare without his arm. Stay tuned Nats fans.

Today Washington had a day game with the St. Louis Cardinals. This was game 3 of a
3 game set. The Nats lost the first game, then the won the next 2 by the same score
of 1-0. It was great to win a series. Tomorrow is an off day, then we will be in New York to play the Mets in a 3 game series.

We finished up a 3 game series with the Mets in New York yesterday. The Nats ran into the best pitcher in baseball on Friday, Jacob
De Grom.. Washington only got 2 hits, and the Mets of course won. Saturday Washington won by a bunch behind Joe Ross, then lost on Sunday by 4-0 I think, We came away 1-2, Today is a travel day. and tomorrow we face Toronto for a 2 game set.

Two games with Toronto, played at their Florida spring training facility, ended up in a 1-1 split. Seems to be a lot or that going around. Washington is in last place in the NL East Division but it's crazy. We are only ONE game out of first place. Tonight we start a 3 game series with Miami at home. Right now in Washington, we have 50-60 mile an hour wind gusts! I don't know if they can play in this. The wind is supposed to continue until 2AM. Maybe in the stadium, the wind will not be so bad.

We had our 1st series sweep today. The Nationals beat the Marlins to complete the
first series of the home stand. We won the first 2 games and today Max Scherzer
had a complete game 3-1 win, for the sweep. The Nat's now have a four game winning streak for the first time this year. Next the Braves come in for a 3 game series starting Tuesday.

Well, we gave all our wins back. Washington was on a 4 game win streak until Atlanta came to town. Now, we have a 3 game losing streak. A few well placed hits and we probably could have won 2 of the games. The winning hits were not to be and now it's on to New York for 3 games with the Yankees, hope we can win a few in the big apple!

New York did not work out so well. Washington won the first game with the Yankees but lost the next two games in extra innings. Again, a timely hit could have won either game, or both. That would have been sweet. A day off today, then home for 3 games
with Philadelphia.

Different team same result. Washington lost 2 out of 3 to the Phillies this time.
The relief pitchers just can't seem to be consistent. Losing in the late innings is
getting old . We did manage to win the last game yesterday behind Patrick Corbin
5-1. Now we go to Arizona to play the Diamondbacks for 3 games. It sure would be nice to win 2 of the 3 or all 3 games.

Washington actually won a series. The Nat's beat the Diamondbacks 2 out of 3 games to escape Arizona on a winning note. Eric Fedde pitched a great game and came away with a 3-0 win. Chicago is next and we have 4 games with the Cubs. The pitching rotation for the Nat's should make for some interesting games with Lester, Corbin, Scherzer, and we may get Strasburg back off the injured list.

Washington just lost 3 out of 4 to the Chicago Cubs. The only game we could win
was the game Max Scherzer pitched. The timely hit is still elusive for the Nats. We
certainly need more hits with men in scoring position. Now we go to Baltimore for 2 games with the Orioles. Possibly, Stephen Strasburg will pitch, coming off the IL.

Back on track. The Washington Nationals actually won three games in a row from the Baltimore Orioles. There was a ton of offence during the 3 games and somehow Washington got the timely hit with runners in scoring position. The Nat's are only 3 games below 500 now. Next, the Cincinnati Reds are in Washington for a 3 game series. I guess that the warm weather really assisted the baseball travel distance on hits. It's been 90 degrees for the past 3 days.

Oh my, this is getting old. Max Scherzer had 10 strikeouts, only gave up 2 hits before he was pulled for a pinch hitter, and the Nationals lost again to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0. That made it three games to none for the Brewers. We can't get any hits, much less a few runs.. We stink. Help. Now to Atlanta for 4 games.

Man, I'm tired. Had to stay up until almost midnight last night to see Washington finally beat Tampa in 11 innings. The win gave the Nat's a split with Tampa in the short 2 game series. First game was won by the Ray's 3-1 and last night by the Nats, 9-7. Tonight we start a 4 game series with the San Francisco Giants. Tonight's game might get cancelled or delayed because of heavy rain and flash flood warnings. We shall see.

The first game of the Giants series was rained out. Washington ended up splitting the four games 2-2. Could easily have been 4-0 Nats. Dang.. Really competitive series. Now we have the Pirates coming in for a 3 game series.

All right. Washington took 3 out of 3 from the Pirates to make it a 4 game winning streak. Fantastic. Thursday is an off day, then the Mets come into town for four very important games. The Mets lead the NL East and the Nats need to make up some ground.
