One name mentioned for the job is Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex and just sacked from Peterborough after getting them promoted twice in two seasons.

Your man Gillette needs to stick his hand in his pocket for a playmaker and a finisher. If only they had made a bid for David Villa (Torres' partner up front for Spain, obvious partnership!) in the summer. Whether he was officially for sale...who knows, but everyone has a price!

Wow, I Leave for a couple days and this thread goes crazy. First, I don't mind one bit that 'Pool is down and out right now. With the Injuries suffered by 'pool this season they are not finding the rhythm needed to be a top 4 four side. I love how 'pool fans are turning on Bentiez when he won the Champion's League a few seasons ago and a consistent top 4 team. In previous seasons and this one also can any 'pool fan tell me your squad is better than L'Arse, Locomotiv London and MANURE? I didn't think so. You also have to have money to spend it and 'pool are in DEBT! Plus with Piatini cracking down on teams having money to spend it 'pool fan be ready to come back to the pack. Secondly, My Spurs scored 9 .. I watched the game on delay here in the states and I was like really.. I cannot believe that score line.

Sorry Sindri gotta disagree with you there, he did a good job cos he didnt change anything from 'Maureens' time, the team, tactics were all the same and the players knew what they were meant to do. I don't see him motivating the players at Pompey any better than Hart could.

OK. The title is a two-horse race, but Chelsea will win. ManU don't have a good enough defence to win it this year.
Arsenal will finish top 4 for sure. Think they'd be in with a shout but losing VP has proven their squad is a bit too small I think.
Last CL place will be between Liverpool/Villa/Spurs/ManC. Hard to call that one right now. Is it conceivable Liverpool could finish 8th - have to say it is.
Is it Benitez fault? He's the manager, so has to take a large part of the blame, but overall most LFC fans blame the owners. They have lied, placed a huge debt on the club and still failed to start the new stadium that was due next season. If they sacked Benitez there'd be a riot.
Happy times for ManU fans clearly to see us so low - may be their only consolation this year though - no Prem and no CL for you either, I'm afraid.....you just don't know it yet. (that enough smiley faces?)

I'm actually one of the few who wouldn't mind to see him go... He's a great manager and has done really well for us, but I don't agree with his team selection and some questionable signings... If we are to win the prem, we need someone who's more aggresive than Rafa...
