Rafa is too stubborn to walk and too expensive to sack therefore I think he'll stick around for a while.

I am still gutted over losing to the L'Arse this weekend. But big ups to Pompey! Dindane got a hat Trick and he fully deserved it.

I wonder if this season can be saved.
Basicly out of the title race and its not even Nov, struggling to make the KO stage in Europe and out of the league cup.

Very unfortunate..... LOL

Book your tickets for the Eufa Cup Final - being played at FC Hamburg.

Gesshoo
My boss also had tickets for some kind of quiz night after the game so after the final whistle (we lost 1-0 :( ) there's all this commotion on the pitch with bright camera lights etc.

Turned out it was Eamon Andrews and "This is Your Life" for Emlyn Hughes, and that is what our tickets were for!

We had a great night. Two of the guests I remember were Georgie Best (RIP) - who looked GREAT! And Red Rum - I can't remember why exactly....but he looked great too!

Great boss, and what a fantastic surprise it must have been!

I watched this on telly, a very emotional evening for Crazy Horse, and an odd evening for Red Rum!

I know Bob Paisley was a good friend of Ginger Mcaine (race horse trainer), who trained at Southport. Emlyn liked a flutter and I think he might have once owned or part owned a race horse.

I'm sure you had much merriment when the cameras stopped rolling, especially being in such salubrious company?

My wife would have loved to have been there.

My team Ipswich... have won...wow! I thought it would never happen!

Keane must be under some real pressure at Ipswich, I honestly though a few seasons ago that they'd be making a real push for promotion soon. Suprised he's still there with the start he's made, hard times, hard times.

Benitez is beginning to upset me, i read its gonna cost liverpool 20 million to sack him and they are already in extreme debt. As much as Benitez is doing a terrible job, the liverpool investors need to press some money into the january transfer window, get a decent team together, otherwise we are going to see top players leaving in the summer for better teams, there no doubt of that. If liverpool carry on the way they are they are looking at finishing 12th this season. Thats not football that players like Torres, Aquilani, came to english football for, and its not the football, mascherano, benayoun, are going to want to stick around for, If liverpool dont get spending, they are going to be Newcastle in 3 years no doubt. At least Reina has said he is sticking around....

It's not Benitez who needs to go, it is the owners. Hopefully, this bad run might persuade them to cut and run.

Good comeback by ManU tonight - 1-3 back to 3-3. Good draw for Chelsea in Spain too.

Need Liverpool to pull off a huge win tomorrow night at Lyon - win that and we have Fiorentina at home (winnable) and Dbrecen away (winnable). Fingers crossed!

Roy Keane.
Contract two years.
Must achieve promotion in two years.

I have only watched one Ipswich game this season, and can't afford to go again until december.
I take my wife or son, and we stay in a B&B Friday and Saturday nights, total cost these days for petrol, parking, B&B, meals, booze and tickets amounts to £500. We like to make a weekend of it, and socialising with the fans over a pint or two is very important to me.

You mentioned Roy Keane being under pressure, well I have to say; Most of the more knowledgeable fans are still quite Philosophical about the two year plan for promotion. Not a single Ipswich fan acquaitance of mine has even mentioned the possibility of Relegation. The general concensus of opinion is that Ipswich are playing good football, creating chances, but need a goal scorer.

I don't mix with the doom and gloom type's, but going on a pub crawl with my acquaintances, we came across plenty of so called fans demanding Roy Keane's head. How fickle are football fans these days? I have to say most of the Roy Keane for the chop brigade, were very young (late teens), and youngsters have no patience!

I just long for the Ipswich v Liverpool encounters, my wife (Liverpool fan)and I have never missed one. Those encounters are beginning to feel like a very distant memory!

I live in hope!
Come on Roy Keane!
Maybe we will get to the play offs!!!!!

I dont know why your defending benitez, money or not, his belief in players like Ngog, Voronin and Lucas, is soo frustrating. The should never be in the starting team. Or even play any part of the game at all, even with the injuries. Ngog and Voronin would be lucky to start for a team like Fulham. Even with the players hes got hes doing a bad job. As far as im concerned Benitez and the owners can all feck off lol

Ngog has definitely shown some signs of improvement this season but is still mediocre, but Rafa's persistence with Voronin is truly baffling. For some reason I fancy Liverpool to win tonight though - they have a habit of pulling ridiculous results out of the hat in Europe when they need them.

LOL of the day - Newcastle United, the first club to have a stadium name that's also (almost) an e-mail address.

Lyon v Liverpool

Insua is a lucky boy, Govou the right sided midfielder who gave him hell at Anfield, has been dropped to the bench due to a breach of club partying rules.

I now fancy Liverpool to win this game.

Voronin needs to show his class and be good support for Torres.

GL Liverpool.

I for one don't mind seeing Liverpool go thru hard times. It's means my Spurs can get Champion's League Soccer next season.

Spurs going through, how about Woolridge Wanderers?

Highlighting Liverpools injury problems, Agger is playing, but had to stand on the flight over!
Carragher is a terrible right back, but doing his best.

Come on Liverpool.

Being a manchester united fan and having lived there for a good 5 years of my life its been great to them keep at the top of the ladder over the last 6 years i would say. Chelsea i believe has a strong team this year after signing a few big names over the last 2 years. But yes many people do not know about football as its more a European sport, just like for english people never hearing about the NRL or Hockey.
To each his own i say

Fact is we dont have better back up players then Voronin,Ngog,Lucas and Babel and with Gerrard,Torres,Glen,Aurrelio,Aqualini,Rierra,Skrtl,Agger, Kelly,Degen,El-Zhar and Ngog all having injury troubles this early in the season who he plays is more a matter of who is fit then who he likes.
And that sure as hell isnt Rafa´s fault, this season Rafa maked 10K on transfers.

When you have a squad as thin as Liverpool´s you simply cant afford to make a profit on the transfer market.
And the blame for that lies with the owners not Rafa.
Do you honestly think if he would have gotten the money to buy a back up striker he would still have voronin in the squad? If so why did he loan him out last season?

£17.5m – Glen Johnson: .
£17.1m - Alberto Aquilani:
£2m – Sotirios Kyrgiakos:
£160,000 – Daniel Ayala

Total bought: £36.76m

£250,000 – Paul Anderson
Free – Jermaine Pennant:
Free – Miki Roque:
Free - Hyypia:
£3m – Sebastian Leto:
£3.5m – Alvaro Arbeloa:
£30m – Xabi Alonso:

Total sold: £36.75m

2009/10 net spend: £10,000

I still think Rafa is getting the sack, 4points from 8 games is simply not good enough for any club.
One thinks for sure if never been as happy that the international break is coming up.
