Hi

I think the Olympic Games can be cancelled, because today the Euro 2020 was canceled for 2021 due to Covid-19..

I think it will be moved to 2021. And if not, it will be with no audience at all.

Let´s see how it goes. We are still have some time for the competition. They are thinking hard for a solution. But with this World wide closing borders it is gonna be difficult to happen.

I believe they come out with some kind of news in april but it seems they have no plans to cancel it so this should be great

Please take my two cents for what is worth,
wanna say sticking to the subject, the Olympic Games, Olympic Creed, Olympic tradition....
It has been widely written that during the Games, all conflicts among the participating city-states were postponed until the Games were finished. This idea is a modern myth because the Greeks never suspended their wars.
Аnything may happen in the view of outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
Keep calm and patience!
Cheers!

I think that before the start of the Olympic Games, everything will be decided with a pandemic on the good side. In China, the disease has already subsided. It seems to me after 2 months we will all return to our previous lives.

Starting on Time Without Postponement

With every passing day (that seems more like a week), the chances of these Games starting on time goes down, way down. If all the quarantines and travel bans were lifted at the beginning of May, do you think these Games could move forward as planned? I don't.

There has got to be a "tipping point" of profitability and viability that would precede the absolute possibility of holding the events. If everything was "back to normal" on July 1st, it may be possible to hold the Games, but they wouldn't do it. The profitability/viability becomes almost zero very soon.

Games to start as planned

I just read an article today 3-18-20 that the games are, as of now, Scheduled to start as planned. I know this could change but that is the latest word I saw on the internet just a few minutes ago

Be safe all & hope this virus does not affect any of you!

Further to your above context aware, the following must be taken into account; common sense should guide hosters and Olympic Committee to suppose that postponement of this event nibbles around the edges of the problem only. There is no vaccina yet in the world. If they will chose instead to nibble around the edges of the problem rather than meet it with courage and a plan for the future then it just can't or doesn't get any worse than that.

Given the coronavirus pandemic: will the Olympics be held or suspended? Maybe it will be postponed to next year? Doing it in a country other than China seems difficult since the virus is everywhere. My opinion, as it has progressed, will be suspended. It would be a great blow to world sport, as there are athletes preparing for 4 years for these competitions. :2in1:
100% will suspended

I feel like it’ll be postponed this year. There are too many people and athletes traveling from too many different areas and with what’s going now not likely hopefully 2021.

They should postpone them for next year... I mean even if it is safe to hold them athletes will be out of form.

From what I've read, a few qualifying events for the Olympics were suspended already in Europe and USA and even some that were scheduled in April were postponed... considering this and the way the things are going on ATM I think it's unlikely that the Olympics will start on time.

Stay safe everyone!

With this situation of health so bad, so close to the Olympic games, the event should be postponed, as everyone (athletes and fans) would still be afraid if they were crowded after this pandemic .. very sad![emoji120][emoji460]️[emoji459][emoji968][emoji462][emoji971]🥋🥊[emoji120]

I am not happy with this either but we have to be reasonable and cancel it, because it would be much worst if our champions and lot of turist who will go to japan get the virus and bring a bigger problem than this.

It is kind of surreal to see them starting the torch relay, while everyone else is staying home. I would love to use the tickets I was lucky to get, but I don‘t think there will be Olympic Games this summer.

The olympic games should be postponed, first concern should be the Health of people.
Olympic games can wait, Health can't

Most likely postponed for a certain period. The Olympics is a sport. Sport is health. And what kind of health can there be when the virus goes around the world? . While the pandemic will not take place major open international events in the near future you can not wait.

If this continues for a couple of months, they should definitely postpone it for the next year.

The Oaklawn Park Racetrack announced on Friday the 20th that the Arkansas Derby (G1), one of the most important races on the route to the Kentucky Derby (G1), will be held on May 2 - the closing day of its season - instead of the Saturday, April 11. This decision represents a new change in the preparatory competitions for the Carrera de las Rosas, which, as is known, will take place on Saturday, September 5. The financial issue is part of this decision, since the Oaklawn Park casino is closed to the public, and races continue to be held behind closed doors. Without the additional income, Oaklawn Park could guarantee the million dollars originally planned for the Arkansas Derby (G1), but after a series of consultations it was concluded to continue the season - same behind closed doors - but with a reduction in the prize pot. Thus, the Arkansas Derby (G1) will offer $ 750,000 to distribute. In the same way, the Fantasy Stakes (G3), preparatory for the Kentucky Oaks (G1), has been moved on its date and will be played on Friday 1st. May, with a reduction of his prize to be distributed to $ 400,000.:D:)
