OK. I've scouted around and determined the kind of software I would like to use...but I'm cheap. I still have my licence for PT3 and would like to use it UNLESS you strongly recommend that I don't because PT4 will blow it out of the water....is this the case?
If so, I'm going to download the trial and give it a go.

Any quick comments would be greatly appreciated.

I just finished playing through a number of Sunday million satellite tickets, $11 and $22, and this was worse than playing a zero dollar entry free roll. More all-ins than you can shake a stick at and many with crap hands no less. When I next load up on satellite tix I want to dispatch these "players" efficiently. So, if PT4 can potentially do this better than PT3 then I'm all ears.

Is your PT3 still working on all your sites?

If so, I say keep it. I sort of remember being forced into a then free upgrade (fuzzy memory?), and have been disappointed ever since. There is way more info available in PT4, but it is overkill, IMHP.

Thanks dj. I haven't put it into action yet because I wondered if anyone else was using it.

I'm going to give it a try and and see what happens since there hasn't been much feedback for this type of question.

Just a follow-up note.
I have software dated from 2002 that is nimble and outperforms much of the 64-bit coded "thingy's" out there but this software only needs to adapt to the architecture and operating system which are usually backwards compatible (linux is trickier but doable.) When the software needs to adapt to a moving and evolving target like poker sites then PT3 is no match for PT4. I can make it work but fussing with it will cost more in time than the purchase price of the upgraded version which has more "stuff." If there is a way to create an initialization file that loads only those parts of PT4 that will be useful for targeted games then this is a good thing. If all the bells and whistles need to be loaded regardless if they will be used or not then this is a bad thing and I try to avoid bad things whenever possible.

I want to make a sugestion [if this does not exists]: Create an option to exclude of the opponent history hands the hands that he was sitting out.
I tell this because we can face an opponent that has a huge range and play a lot of hands, like 35/40%, but if we face him previously and he be sitted out 30 hands, thi VP of him will be mask, like he is a very tight player, but no.
Is There how to exclude the sitted out hands of the history hands of our oponents?

Hi, this might be a little quick to post here but I just downloaded the free trial and I went to look through some prior tournaments and I noticed not only is the amount I am down wrong it is WAY off and doesn't seem to list any gains. At first glance I can see that it is listing every .50 cent OD game that I have played as a $20+$2 buying with zero cashes...

I am currently going the FAQ and some tutorials but maybe you could help speed up the learning curve for me, or let me know of something I'm missing, thanks in advance.

PokerTracker 4 can track your play and that of your opponents while you are playing. We have a free trial version which you can use to see if it suits your needs and a quick start guide is available here.

This is quite complicated because PokerTracker treats the hand as a whole and if a player is sitting out then that also influences the stats of the other players at the table since they would be raising more often in certain situations. The development team are aware of this request so if you would like to be notified if we're able to do something with this in a future version of PokerTracker then you can let us know in a Support Ticket.

What site(s) are these tournaments on? The information provided in hand histories varies by site and if the relevant information is not included in the poker sites hand history files and/or tournament summaries then PokerTracker 4 will not know what they are but for any tournaments with incorrect data you can update the information manually.

If these tournaments are on pokerstars then please make sure you are saving and importing PokerStars tournament summaries as well as the hand histories but if you have any further trouble you can compress the hand history/tournament summary files for any tournaments which don't work for you and attach them to a Support Ticket.

Is there any way to manually add tournament results? I'm guessing not because I did some searching around and couldn't find a way too do it without a hand history file, but figured I'd check here just in case.

I missed the download window to download some hand histories so while I have the actual results, I just don't have hand history files. But it's a good 30-40 tournaments so I'd like them in my database even if I don't have the hand histories.

I'm guessing I could edit some existing hand history files and then import them with correct results but that would be kind of a pain so if there's some other way I could do it that would be swell!

ACR is the site I am trying to use PT4 with, I also play a couple sites not supported with PT4 that wouldn't mess with imported hands would it?

Thank you for the link on updating tournament information manually, it seems as though I'm going to have to do that for quite a few of them. I confirmed that it is the .50 cent On Demand games that are uploading to PT4 as $20 buyin tournaments. Searched the tournament ID listed in PT4 on my games played on ACR and they line up.

I just purchased PT4 last night to begin using for my play on ACR. I had a trial version back in October that worked perfectly and I never had any problem with. I tried to use the PT4 application today and I can't do anything with it. I can open it but if I try to get it track hands while playing or try to configure table layout or anything really it just freezes and I have to force quit the program. I'm on a mac and when I open it says this application is not optimized for this mac, but I keep seeing that PT4 is compatible with mac so I'm confused about what's happening. If someone could offer some suggestions as to whats wrong or a possible fix I would really appreciate it.

Yes if you don't have the hand history files you would need to manually create them which you can do by editing existing hand history files - just be sure to change the hand numbers so PokerTracker 4 doesn't recognise them as duplicate hands when you try to import them.

No it wouldn't.

As far as I am aware we have detection rules in place for other On Demand buy-ins so if you send us a sample of these tournaments in a Support Ticket we can see if the detection rules can be updated.

Rob, I'm sorry, I don't know how I missed this response. I am still having the issue but honestly this is the first moment that I've set aside to really mess with it. What do you need me to include when I do send a ticket?

Should I try to fix games one at a time now or wait to see if it is something wrong that I can fix first?

My free trial is coming to its end and I am really leaning towards getting it full version and I just want to make sure I know how to fully use it before I do. I appreciate all your help.

Ticket sent

I sent them a ticket saying pretty much the same thing I told you and added this screenshot

There is just zero correct information there really...there has to be something I'm not doing.

My pokertracker is showing a total amount won that does not line up with my account balance, was just wondering if anyone had any info or tips on this?

I'm wondering if the way my current db is tracking the rake is incorrect as I remember switching long ago in the past when I was playing on some sites other than pokerstars.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas or fixes for me.

EDIT

and yeah I am currently playing only on stars if that helps.

Does your PokerStars balance include bonuses? What currency(s) are you playing in? What currency is your PokerStars cashier in? What stats are you looking at in PokerTracker 4 (Game Currency or My Currency)?

Currency Guide

If you are sure there is an issue then please include all relevant information detailing the problem (calculations, screenshot(s)) and compress the hand history/tournament summary files which give you incorrect results and attach those to a Support Ticket.

So we can find out what's causing that please enable logging, reproduce this issue and send us your PokerTracker4.log file in a Support Ticket:

The only payment methods that we are able to accept on our website are Credit Cards (visa, mastercard, Discover, American Express), paypal or neteller. Alternatively if Bitcoin is an option for you then you can open a Support Ticket where we can create a personalized invoice for you.

I would like to use PT4 to distinguish players that collude and to distinguish bots from human players. Is there a database available where I can test for these kinds of signatures and compare it against my database?

Anyone in the bot business will be using your software and exploiting its weaknesses but I believe that your software is robust enough to detect such exploitation....the term 'honey pot' comes to mind.

At the moment I'm still on the bottom end of the learning curve for PT4, as you can see from my purchase date. Having the full version, are you aware of and if possible provide the links to examples of HUD configurations used by solid players? My reason for asking is that I would like to learn from the best and not re-invent the wheel if at all possible.

Thanks for any response!

Each players PokerTracker database is stored locally on their own computer and we don't store this information on our own servers.

There are some custom HUD profiles available here. Apart from that other players may have made their own HUD profiles available on poker forums, YouTube, Twitch e.t.c. and there are also third party developers such as ProPokerHUDs who sell premium HUD profiles.
