The $88 buy-in Sunday GREAT 8 drew 164 players who rebought 52 times, which meant a $20,000 prize pool was on tap. Among the 24 players to get a piece of it were “Nemekiss” (21st - $250), Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy (16th - $350), “KelevraJesus” (7th - $700), and “MrDrogo” (4th - $1,700).
After 6 hours and 39 minutes in the tournament, a heads-up deal was struck between Brazil’s Ivan “ivanlimeira” Mascarenhas and 888poker Ambassador Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot. The latter took second place for $3,631 while the former took the title and $3,819 in prize money.
Another Mega Deep Wins for Pik00rs
The $215 buy-in Sunday Mega Deep saw 280 players take to the virtual felt and rebuy 153 times. The top 40 finishers got a piece of a $100K prize pool including Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskyi (37th - $580), Fabricio “DrMiKee” Gonzalez (19th - $1,000), Ivan “ivanascasubi” Vilchez (9th - $2,000), “StackdTall” (5th - $5,500), and “Mr.McMark777” (3rd - $11,000).
After 10 hours and 20 minutes, “Pik00rs” defeated “LevelingMode” to win the title and $19,500 first-place prize. It was the second Mega Deep related wins for “Pik00rs” in just over two months as back on June 25 he took down the $15,000 Mega Deep for $3,750.
Anton “VnilaVader” Herrmann Last Man Standing in Turbo Mega Deep
The $215 buy-in Turbo Mega Deep saw 55 players rebuy 18 times in their quest for a piece of a $15,000 prize pool. Just the final seven got paid including “ladispute” (7th - $675), Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy (6th - $825), “RakDoll” (5th - $1,125), “StackedEight” (4th - $1,500), and “billycadu14” (3rd - $2,250).
After just 3 hours and 40 minutes, Sweden’s Anton “VnilaVader” Herrmann defeated Canadian XL Inferno champ “PBD03” in heads-up play to win $5,250. The win came two weeks after Herrmann finished fourth in the same tournament for $1,976. You might also remember he finished second in the April 22 $100,000 Whale for $23,845.
Austria’s “Palmenwedler” Wins Sunday Challenge
The $109 buy-in Sunday Challenge had 254 players rebuy 90 times in their quest to win a portion of a $50,000 prize pool. Among those to finish in the money in the top 36 were “xane7a” (36th - $375), “Vickers95” (25th - $425), Mike “Pipedream17” Dietrich (16th - $550), “StackedEight” (7th - $1,750), and “popsnpoker” (4th - $4,250).
After “TheM3anGr33n” exited in third place for $5,650, the title came down to Austria’s “Palmenwedler” and the UK’s “hausis1.” After 8 hours and 13 minutes, the former prevailed to win a $10,225 top prize.
Sunday Monsoon Ends with a Russian Deal
The $55 buy-in Sunday Monsoon attracted 214 players who rebought 83 times. The top 27 players got a piece of the $15,000 prize pool including “Dablinov” (25th - $150), “mustbfunny” (17th - $188)), “Doked” (12th - $263), and Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (4th - $1,313).
After 7 hours and 34 minutes, a pair of Russians struck a deal. XL Blizzard champ “Pasha813” took second place for $2,622 while “ar4i_grekkk” claimed the title for $2,928. It was “ar4i_grekkk’s” first win since June 1 when he took down the $1,000 GTD R&A for $400, the very same tournament he won back on December 2.
