Welcome to 888poker’s Weekly Deal, with all the best news, results and insights from the past week.

THIS WEEK: August 19, 2018

Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy Wins Whale for $26K

The $1,050 buy-in Whale offered up an $80,000 prize pool and 57 players competed for it while rebuying 19 times in the process. Among those to battle but fall short of the money 888poker Ambassadors Chris “888Moorman” Moorman and Dominik “888Dominik” Nitsche, as well as “JohnFoot,” “DosPoochies,” and “Madeon1994.”

Just 1 week after Chris Moorman, who was the last man standing in 888poker’s 8team competition during the WSOP Main Event, the 2nd player standing, Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy took it down.

Only the top eight players got paid and included Jans “Graftekkel” Arends (8th - $3,200), “MisterN411” (5th - $6,000), and “asiarat” (3rd - $12,000). After 6 hours and 47 minutes, Russia’s Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy defeated Finland’s “jnevanli” to win a $26,000 top prize.

While “jnevanli” had to settle for second place and a $16,800 consolation prize, he found redemption in another tournament later in the day, one you can read about below.

Finnish Pros Battle It Out for Sunday Challenge Title

The $109 buy-in Sunday Challenge saw 282 players take to the virtual felt and rebuy 98 times. That meant the $40,000 prize pool was distributed to the top 36 players including “NukeTheMoon” (25th - $340), “ZDamian” (20th - $340), “Tedson89” (15th - $540), “bossamtisch1” (9th - $760), “EduardoGarla” (5th - $2,320), and “manipuliator” (3rd - $5,393).

After 8 hours and 33 minutes, Finland’s “jnevanli” defeated fellow countryman “goeon” on heads-up play to win a $2,320 first-place prize.

Germany’s “DollphIIN” Proves Greatness in Sunday GREAT 8

The $88 buy-in Sunday GREAT 8 drew 222 players who rebought 96 times, which helped surpass the $20K GTD by creating a $25,440 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 32 players including “Showdown13” (22nd - $254), “guydeet39” (14th - $382), “futomaki123” (9th - $509), “n0sferatv” (6th - $1,145), and “sweet_dr34ms” (3rd - $2,926).

After 8 hours and 14 minutes, Germany’s “DollphIIN” dispatched Malta’s “xane7a” to win the title for $5,152.

“radasahk” Claims Mega Deal Title After Heads-Up Chop

The $215 buy-in Sunday Mega Deep attracted 330 players who rebought 163 times. That meant the top 48 players would get a piece of a $100,000 prize pool and they included “wisimaki” (19th - $970), “penfolds6” (12th - $1,750), “IHaveNoBoss” (6th - $3,750), and “SanttuO” (4th - $7,750).

After “Pik00rs” hit the rail in third place for $10,750, the final two players agreed to a chop after 10 hours and 46 minutes. The UK’s “radasahk” was deemed the winner for $17,413 while his fellow countryman “youler” took second for $16,087.

Pair of Canadians Chop Sunday Monsoon

The $55 buy-in, $15K GTD Sunday Monsoon drew 250 players who rebought 97 times to create a $17,350 prize pool. Among the top 36 to get paid were “flipthechip” (17th - $191), “ZDamian” (10th - $278), “BanjZill” (6th - $781), “n0sferatv” (5th - $1,006), and “KelevraJesus” (3rd - $1,961).

After 7 hours and 53 minutes, two Canadians agreed to a deal in which “gray369” was awarded the title and $3,380 in prize money and “SpiderMonk03” took second for $2,770.

What to watch out for:

Right now, players have the opportunity to become millionaires simply by playing BLAST Sit & Go’s, which are turbo Texas hold’em sit and goes played four-handed.

For a limited time only, those who play a $1 BLAST event will have a chance at $1,000,000, while those who participate in the $5 BLAST could win $2,000,000.

“Not many people get a chance to win that kind of money in poker, much less for $1 or $5,” said 888poker Ambassador Chris Moorman, who plans to BLAST away for the very first time during the promotion. “This is a fun, low cost opportunity to try your luck that anyone can enjoy regardless of skill level.”

hi 888rep,
you guys still didn't fix the bot issue on your poker client.
I can see daily on any table, many multi tabling and sitting over 520 minutes and more.
How can you guys tolerate that?
Are they playing for you?
Why can't you made more secure, like PokerStar?
Or do the what's needed to fix it on your side?

In the poker lobby you need to click on "Free Spin". It is on the right hand side of the poker lobby.
Thanks!

Hi,
I also signed up to 888 for the starting bonus but they haven't given it to me because they said I have another account associated with me. I think I had an 888 account many years ago but I definitely was never given £20 on it. If there was/is any money in it it was won from scratch on freerolls. Does this exclude me from having a bonus?
Thanks.

Welcome to 888poker’s Weekly Deal, with all the best news, results and insights from the past week.

THIS WEEK: August 26, 2018

Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy Nearly Defends Whale Title

The $1,050 buy-in, $50K GTD Whale attracted 40 players who rebought 17 times. That generated a $57,000 prize pool paid out to the top five. Among those to compete but fall short where Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot, Dominik “888Dominik” Nitsche, and Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskiy, just to name a few.

Among those to cash were “Charlymogo” (5h - $4,560), Johannes “TrollKonst8” Korsar (4th - $5,700), and Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy (3rd - $8,550), who you might recall last week won the Whale for $26K.

After just over six hours in the tournament, the UK’s “SpitOnGraves” and Russia’s “blowjob1987” struck a deal that saw the latter get $17,374.50 and the former $20,815.50 and the title.

Sweden’s “Namlleh” Wins Sunday Mega Deep

The $215 buy-in Sunday Mega Deep drew 273 players who rebought 114 times, which resulted in a $77,400 prize pool. Among the 40 players to earn a piece of it were Dominik “888Dominik” Nitsche (33rd - $449), Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot (27th - $519), Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskiy (17th - $774), “YSoSerious7” (6th - $3,096), and “seijistar1” (3rd - $8,514).

After 10 hours and 5 minutes, Sweden’s “Namlleh” beat Russia’s “msksevart” to win the title for $15,093. It was “Namlleh’s” first win since the April 15th $50,000 Sunday Challenge, which he won for $9,625. Prior to that, he had a pair of wins in the $10,000 Tornado and $6,000 Late Night Crocodile in October of last year.

“rickybarbosa” Takes Down Sunday GREAT 8

The $88 buy-in Sunday GREAT 8 easily surpassed its $15,000 GTD by drawing 195 players who rebought 73 times. That created a $21,440 prize pool paid out to the top 32 players including “dankreas” (28th - $161), “Openpunks” (14th - $322), “Dablinov” (9th - $429), “YSoSerous7” (4th - $1,822), and Zack “DuduPa1986” Korik (3rd - $2,466).

After 7 hours and 46 minutes, “rickybarbosa” defeated “sweet_dr34ms” in heads-up play to win $4,342.

“simoneblondi” Victorious in Sunday Challenge
The $109 buy-in Sunday Challenge attracted 230 players to the virtual felt and they rebought 81 times to create a $31,100 prize pool. The top 36 got paid including Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (25th - $264), Arseniy “josef_shvejk” Karmatskiy (18th - $342), “888GABHO” (7th - $1,088), and “TheM3anGr33n” (4th - $2,643).

After “summuNNN” bowed out in third place for $3,514, the final two players struck a heads-up deal in which “yugsy11” finished second for $5,150 and “simoneblondi” first for $5,875. You might remember that in September of last year, “simoneblondi” topped a field of 102 players to win the XL Eclipse Event #179: $15,000 Tornado for $3,750.

“DoIT7777” Weathers Monsoon to Win $2,784
The $55 buy-in Sunday Monsoon had a $10,000 guarantee, which it blew past by drawing 194 players who rebought 65 times. That meant a $12,950 prize pool was distributed to the top 27 players including “PBD03” (21st - $129.50), “elenabb12” (12th - $227), “psyhoagromor” (7th - $518), and “TonyKeogh” (4th - $1,133).

After “StrbxGrndr” bowed out in third place for $1,522, the title came down to “Dablinov” and “DoIT7777.” After just shy of seven hours in the tournament, the latter prevailed to capture the $2,784 top prize.
