Questions? Post them here.

See you on the tables!

I have tried several unsuccessful times to contact 888support by email, they froze my account, didn't give me a reason other than the site saying my account was "temporarily suspended" , I found out 4 or 5 days after that it had to do with account verification! It was re-activated on Monday, I believe. However, the site has cost me 5 days of missing $0.50 tickets, $1.00 of cash value, a $3,000 Blast freeroll ticket and a $5.00 ticket which I won on one of the Blast $3,000 freerolls.

I'm thoroughly unimpressed with the site so far!

That shouldn't happen even if it was a freeplay. It clearly says "do you want to continue playing the freeplay to hit the jackpot" of some sorts like that, oh when you "max" the freeplay winnings is when it pops up and you can continue or decline playing. I never hit the jackpot but I have "played" this numerous times. One time I maxed a $3 freeplay with about a dollar to spare and that question pops up, of course I accepted ;) ps. not to worry I will remember to screenshot next time as proof

I don’t know anything about the grand hand, and maybe it has nothing to do with it, but on the screenshot you showed, it is showing AQ. Would that not mean that AQ is the grand hand?

Welcome to 888poker’s XL Eclipse Recap

Yesterday: September 12, 2019

2019 XL Eclipse kicked off on 888poker with the first three tournaments on the 34-event schedule. By the end of the night, three winners from three different countries had been crowned and $119,060 in prize money awarded. Here are some highlights from the opening day.
Canada’s “JonnyJamz” Wins Event #1: $50,000 Opening Event for Nearly $13K

The first tournament on the schedule was the $109 buy-in Event #1: $50,000 Opening Event, which surpassed its guarantee by attracting 505 players who rebought 181 times. The 686-entry field resulted in a $68,600 prize pool that was paid out to the top 72 players.

Among those to cash after Russia’s “89rhino89” bubbled were “PulledPorker” (63rd - $240.10), “LekkerLoose” (60th - $240.10), “RaiseRaiZe” (55th - $240.10), “sweet_dr34ms” (50th - $274.40), and 888poker Ambassador Chris “888Moorman” Moorman (49th - $274.40).

According to PokerNews updates from the tournament, Moorman fell in Level 21 (6,000/12,000/1,500) when he shoved all in from the cutoff for 160,000 holding the A♥10♠ and “wilhasha13” moved all in over the top for 540,000 with the A♣Q♦ on the button. Both blinds folded and Moorman was looking to get lucky. That didn’t happen though as the board instead ran out a dry 6♥2♥3♦J♥7♠.

Speaking of “wilhasha13,” he made it all the way to the final table and ultimately fell in fourth place losing A♥K♣ all in preflop against the Q♣10♣ of “JonnyJamz” after a J♥8♦Q♥5♣7♣ runout. He earned $5,282 for his deep run.

After “M4zITov” exited in third place for $6,997, “JonnyJamz” took a more than 9:1 chip lead into heads-up play against Ukraine’s “forvardok.” In what would be the final hand of the tournament, the Ukrainian jammed his last 11 bigs with the 9♠8♣ and “JonnyJamz” called holding the A♥3♠.

The board ran out A♠2♠6♣8♥J♥ and “JonnyJamz” improved to a pair of aces to seal the deal. For his runner-up finish “forvardok” took home $9,501 in prize money.

Germany’s “maltzitT” Turns $16.50 Into $4,295 in Event #2
The $16.50 buy-in Event #2: $20,000 Mini Opening Event saw 1,266 players rebuy 418 times to create a 1,684-entry field and a $25,260 prize pool. That was distributed amongst the top 162 finishers including “Tuna_lover” (61st - $65.67), “boogsboy” (42nd - $78.30), “Sauron96” (20th - $101.04), “twin4ik” (10th - $222.28), “cosmiNik” (6th - $997.77), and “hackket” (4th - $1,717.68).

After Brazil’s “CabecaTilt” bowed out in third place for $2,397.17, the title came down to Romania’s “RazvyB” and Germany’s “maltzitT.” Two minutes past eight hours of play, the latter came out on top to win it for $4,294.86. Not a bad return on investment!

Finland’s “dmg34” Wins Late Opening Event

The third and final tournament of the 2019 XL Eclipse opening day was Event #3: $20,000 Late Opening Event, which cruised by its $20K GTD by drawing 367 players that rebought 137 times. The 504-entry field created a $25,200 prize pool that was paid out to the top 54 spots including to “JonnyJamz” (36th - $151.20), “Merfins” (21st - $176.40), “WadoIchimonj” (11th - $327.60), “begood9999” (6th - $1,071), and “Margetik” (3rd - $2,646).

After just over seven hours in the tournament, it was Finland’s “dmg34” besting “BhadizUlue” in heads-up play to win the title and $4,835.88 first-
place prize.

What to Watch For

The 2019 XL Eclipse on 888poker is just getting started! There are multiple events each day now through September 22. By the end, more than $1.4 million will be awarded over 34 events. The different variants include no-limit hold’em as well as 6-max, 8-max, Deep Stack, and the popular Progressive Knock Out (PKO) variant.

The XL Eclipse will culminate in a $250 Main Event that offers a $500K GTD. Last year, Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskiy topped a 709-entry field to win that tournament for $187,500.

This year’s XL Eclipse offers a wide range of buy-ins from as low as $5.50 all the way up to $320 for Event #17: $100,000 High Roller.

Welcome to 888poker’s XL Eclipse Recap
2019 XL Eclipse Reaches Halfway Point
The 2019 XL Eclipse kicked off on 888poker last week, and on Tuesday night the festival reached its halfway point after a day of high roller action. Below is a look at some of the recent winners, storylines, and highlights from the series including a look at the recently-completed High Roller tournaments.

To date, 19 of the 34 events on the schedule have crowned winners and $731,685 in prize money has been awarded. The 2019 XL Eclipse has proved to be an international affair with winners coming from countries around the world including Canada, Germany, Finland, Brazil, the UK, Sweden, Russia, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine, Ireland, and even Zimbabwe.

Peter “kiskutya23” Traply Wins XL Eclipse High Roller
The biggest buy-in of the 2019 XL Eclipse – the $320 Event #17: High Roller – saw 223 players rebuy 84 times, which meant the 307-entry field offered up a $100,000 prize pool to the top 36 players. 888poker Ambassadors Ana “AnaMarquez” Marquez and Sofia “sofialovgren” Lövgren both played but failed to cash.

Among those to cash after 888poker Ambassador Dominik “888Dominik” Nitsche bubbled in 37th place was “EyeofSkadi” (30th - $750), “dmg34” (19th - $850), 888poker Ambassador Martin “MJacobson888” Jacobson (13th - $1,350), “chazcombes” (9th - $1,900), “sweet_dr34ms” (4th - $8,500), and Joao “joaobarb” Barbosa (3rd - $11,300).

After 10 hours and 14 minutes, it was Peter “kiskutya23” Traply besting “Kroat.” In heads-up play to win the title and $20,450 first-place prize. Behind Chris Moorman, Traply is one of online poker’s most accomplished tournament players with nearly $17 million in earnings according to PocketFives.

According to PokerNews’ live updates from the tournament, the final hand saw “Kroat.” Jam with pocket deuces and Traply called holding ace-queen. It was a flip and Traply flopped an open-ended straight draw to go with his overs. A queen on the turn gave him the lead, and the river bricked for “Kroat.” to put an end to the tournament.

In other XL Eclipse High Roller news, Brazil’s “Dred_Rednose” topped a 919-entry field to win Event #18: $30,000 Mini High Roller for $8,680.15, while Costa Rica’s “IHaveNoBoss” bested a 289-entry field to take down Event #19: $20,000 Late High Roller for $6,213.50.

Robin “Inho” Ylitalo Wins XL Eclipse Title to Tune of $21,708
This past Sunday, the $160 buy-in XL Eclipse Event #10: Tune Up cruised by its $100,000 guarantee by attracted 587 players who rebought 247 times. The 834-entry field resulted in a $125,100 prize pool that was paid out to the top 81 players including “Nugget500” (50th - $462.87), “MilkMachine” (34th - $562.95), “alexos888” (25th - $688.05), “chipchipnuts” (14th - $1,188.45), “M1k3n70a7” (7th - $4,065.75), and “MojackoKing” (4th - $9,507.60).

After “advancement” bowed out in third place for $12,635.10, the final two players struck a deal after 11 hours and 45 minutes in the tournament. Russia’s “SiladuS92” finished in second place for $19,061.35 while Swedish poker pro Robin “Inho” Ylitalo claimed the title and $21,708.74 in prize money.

Ylitalo, a regular on 888poker, is not only an accomplished online player, he has also made his mark in the live realm with more than $1.8 million in live tournament earnings. That includes a career-high $909,574 for winning the EPT10 London back in 2013.

Serbia’s “3ptAmin” Has 424% Return on Investment
One things that makes the XL Eclipse so appealing is that there are events for players of all bankrolls. That includes a full slate of low buy-in tournaments such as the $5.50 buy-in Event #12: $10,000 Micro Tune Up, which drew 2,215 players who rebought 735 times.

That meant a $14,750 prize pool was created with $2,331.27 of that set aside for the winner. It took 8 hours and 51 minutes of player of that champion to emerge and it was Serbia’s “3ptAmin” turning his tiny $5.50 investment into a hefty $2,331.27. That represented a 424% return on investment!

Taking a Title Back to Zimbabwe

The $22 buy-in Event #5: $20,000 Mini PKO had 981 players rebuy 270 times, which meant the $25,020 prize pool was split equally between the regular and bounty pools. The tournament paid 126 players, and the big story coming out of the tournament was the victory of “TheMightyGur,” who not only won a $2,252.25 first-place prize but also the accompanying $1,240.40 progressive knockout bounty.

The victory was unique in that “TheMightyGur” became the first player from Zimbabwe to capture a XL title on 888poker!

What to Watch For

The 2019 XL Eclipse on 888poker has passed its halfway point with 19 tournaments from the 34-event schedule in the books. That said, there are still plenty of great tournaments to be had including a bunch of PKO events (Wednesday, September 18 and Thursday, September 19), a day full of DeepStack tournaments (Friday, September 20), and 6-Max madness (Saturday, September 21).

On Sunday, September 22, the XL Eclipse will culminate in a $250 Main Event that offers a $500K GTD. Last year, Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskiy topped a 709-entry field to win that tournament for $187,500.

888poker’s next recap will come at the conclusion of the XL Eclipse after the Sunday events.

Click here for a look at the full schedule.

Hello dear 888Rep. The administration of 888 poker plans to introduce the possibility of changing the player’s nickname as did partypoker and the Microgaming network? Offer support to activate this feature.

Hi 888 Rep

Was wondering why rentries are not counted as places on the prize list? The satellites seem very good value but I find this policy spoils the target event somewhat and is pushing me back more on pokerstars where these are counted as seats.

For instance I entered the Big Fish $33 event. It had 200 entries but 47 people re-entered so it realistically had 247 entrants but the prize pool is based on 200 entrants. This makes the prize pool overly tight and favours those who can afford to keep re-entering.

Re-entries are generally regarded as the same as new players entering late registration period where you lose your whole stack and are then restarting afresh and you then need to knock them out again which are not like rebuys.

In the above example I have quoted this is nearly 25% more players than are counted in the payout structure. It would be nice as well to see more tournaments without re-entries.

Kind Regards

pjokay
