Let the underground and back room bar games thrive. If u cant drink at home and play then they'll go out to drink and play. Money is still money. It prob just wont be as big of a headline as it is now lol. Someone said it best imo. Land of the free my ass. But turns out after reading Nick's post there is prob some shady illegal business being done by the sites and there processors, against the US banks.

He is - but his PS acct is here and he can't open a Moneybooker's account or do anything that a US resident can't do.

We will be in the UK in 2 weeks so if we can access our accounts from over there we might be able to get something done. Joe does have a UK bank account.

Ahh - Well I hope it works out for you and everyone else in the U.S. This kinda stinks.

On a different note, I might try and take advantage of the guarantees on pokerstars now with my little roll seen as the traffic is going to be very low for a while.

I just visited Moneybookers.com and they take US citizens. I bet a US Moneybooker acct can't WD from poker sites, but I'm guessing MB-to-MB transfers would work. Just a thought.

So why are people saying Party will be the biggest site in the world again?(more on P5's and 2p2 than here)

Cannot be 100%, but i-poker/party abided by the rules several years back and pulled out of the US. If licences are ever issued, they would get them ahead of UB/Stars/FTP.

Hope to see you there, though I suspect they'll be cancelled.

Yeah this. Party was a good little poker site, stopped serving the US when they were by far the biggest site, then settled with the US govt for about $100m

I think that played a big part in their decision to pull out to begin with.

lol.

Why you acting like they can't touch us? You're right they can't touch us the FBI. They have no reason too.

The thing is, if a COMPANY has been dabbling in illegal transfers and money laundering then it doesn't matter where it's located. The directors are U.S Citizens(I think?), so they answer the the US government. If the FBI seizes and stops processing of all bank accounts on PS it really doesn't matter we are British as every bit of money on PS is processed the same way so every last cent that's been processed VIA PS including ALL deposits will be classed as fraudulent activity on PS part, therefore they have the right to confiscate ALL funds or least hold them for now pending investigation.

The US government can make pritty much make anything happen even in other countries so I wouldn't really get to confident. Just sit back and relax but don't be surprised if you cant withdraw money considering they have already locked all payment processes from PS, I'm guessing withdrawals anywhere aren't going to happen.

We don't use payment processors outside of the US as we can withdraw directly from sites to our banks. A cheque would have FT written on it for example.

+ They would have to deal with a pretty instant Eurozone court case. Its not really about individual countries so much these days.

Wait, I am not home now. Can we still play? Will FT still honor the Take 2 payments?

Damn I should have taken all my $ out.

I have a $100 check withdrawal pending... I am screwed, aren't I? I worked hard at micros to earn it.

Chillax. These sites are big money and will pay.

TBH, I find it quiet funny that some of the most intellegent people out there, go into blind panic mode so easily.

People need to take a deep breath, think about what is going to happen, and eventually realise that they will get their $4.68 back.
