Flamingo - I didn't stay there but visited it quite often this trip to play poker. The poker room is small but has very soft $2/4 Limit games. Great way to pass the time and not worry about big swings if you are like me and not a cash game player.

Casino is old but comfortable.

Heat

maybe a bit of a silly question here, but this is aimed at those of you who have stayed at several hotels in vegas. I come from a country where it rains most of the time, and never goes above 25C in the summer. Even that is too hot for me, and i often concider removing all the food from the freezer so i can climb in when the temperature goes above 16C. As i am seriously concidering a trip to vegas to play some poker , what would you say is the average temperature in the poker rooms in most hotels?

I dont mind if it doesn't rain all the time, i can always set off the fire sprinklers if i get desperate.

Inside the hotels Etc the air conditioning is always full blast to the extent that a sweatshirt can be comfortably worn. You will not be overcome with heat inside. Outside its obv hot but if you walk from hotel to shop to hotel it is definitely manageable.

Vdara is like a condo. Great rooms with all of the comforts of home. Quiet hotel yet close to Bellagio and Aria.

Interesting update Aug2016:

If you happen to drive to Vegas, Mandalay Bay now charges for self-parking by the hour.

That means you will be charged $7 per hour for parking even if you are playing poker at the casino.

I took my business elsewhere...:p

When in go to Vegas, I get the 24 hour buffet pass. Worth the money and you get to go to an array of restaurants.
If you love food and snacks in between playing this is the best option.

Don't knock me too hard on this one...but the palace station tower rooms rock, panoramic view with remote curtains :) There is a decent 9 or 10 table poker room, with plenty of og's that are fairly easy to crack if you're a young gunner(I'm 27)! Now its off strip on Sahara, down the street from SLS(pretty new joint, but bad gaming opportunities) however a quick shuttle to SLS will put you on the monorail and you can HIT EVERY CASINO with an all day pass at about $10. Now there is a bit of exercise so make your way to Pampas grill around 3pm, just $18 for UNLIMITED STEAK, and if you eat like me an hour goes by quick! At 4pm the real deal dinner meats begin getting served @ no extra expense(if you arrive after 4 its a bit pricier). Once your done with your meal you've got the whole strip to tear up! Try hitting the Paris hotel for some great table time and quality table banter will get you the inside scoop on the best poker spots(and some legit high stake house games

based on my experience to Las Vegas.
I think , it is very necessary to take enough bottled water with you, ANYTIME.

Las Vegas is so dry...

You can get it at any table for free - just need to tip the waitress.

I haven't seen much love for the Venetian, but I loved playing the 1/2 game there. Seemed to be a lot of tourists playing as well.

I currently live in Las Vegas. Without a doubt I would definitely go to Puck's restaurant in the MGM Grand. or the Oyster bar at sunset station!

How would like to now be in Vegas

drove about 3 hours and half for card games
well, right now, Saturdays are bad to visit Vegas, cos hard to find good deals for hotel. Sundays looks good.

Humm, the traffic are as usual, fishes are not that much, I played at MGM grand for like 1 hour, no cards, take 2 blinds, won 5 bux ,and left the table.
there is no drunk players showing up. the pace of a hand is slow.

anyway. I personally don't like current Vegas -- Because my MTG game lost and expect to lost a fair part of my points(40+ points).:(
