Wow! I have the bad habit of reading threads backwards and i got really really confused when Zach commented that the above made sense.

Now that I read it all from top to bottom, I kind of agree it does. :D

I can accept the turn shove, but I don't really get the preflop 3bet.
Although it's 6max and probably loose and 65s ain't all that bad.

Reads stats ?

3-bet here is pretty standard against a 32/28, imo.

yech, don't call 4bets ever unless you're trapping a clueless twat with aces or something.

hate the turn shove tbh, i can't see how we can have that much fold equity since surely a 4bet/check on dryish flop polarizes his range to trappy hands that are willing to get money in on turn, and you just managed to shove against the 3.9% of his range that folds

Felt obliged to call min 4bet tbh, villain chks flop..... This is a big indicator to me that a LAG does not have overpair as he never slow plays it in a 4bet pot imo.

I actually kinda like it. Did you consider calling with position (preflop)? Sure it makes our hand range weaker than his, but against LAGs I don't mind playing a flop with a lot of money behind.

YSY! How many sng's does he play a day?

not enough, he's being a bum :p. he's supposed to do 1200 for the month, which would work out to 40 a day, but he's way behind the pace. he still swears he'll make it though

I knew I could rely on you C9 :D.

Well I vary calling and 3betting in this situation tbh C9. Actually the more I think about it 5bet shove here against this villain looks cool :p.

Has anyone tried a mobile broadband dongle/usb? Can you play pokah with it.... by that I mean is it usable to play like 24 tables without any sort of lag or whatever?

RE: KINGCURTIS Cash Life ...

Dear Curtis,

Thanks for not taking my friend-tilt there last night too seriously. It was late, i was pissed. I felt bad about what I posted in the morning ... I'm just glad you know where I was coming from.

Yeah I think you should look into either getting parallels (free 30 day trial btw) but you also have to get a copy of XP or Vista (maybe you can find it or something via a "ChuckTs" method). HEM also has a 15 day free trial and so you can use that too ... HEM also supports installing the computer on 2 different computers so conceivably... etc etc ... Just thinking of cost effective ways.

Anyways man, I hope you come back to the cash game soon and just focus on playing good. You can't even think in your head "I'm playing so I can move up" because when I see cash players do that (myself 100% included)
they immediately tank and then go on tilt because any loss takes you away from your goal. At no point since moving to 50nl have I looked at 100nl and it's just not even in my scope of thinking. I just really try to keep it simple - play each hand as well as possible. If I do that, things tend to go great (and at the very least, go as well as possible).

Ice is a nicer guy than I thought :D.

ATM I have 24 days left on my PT3 trial, it was 60 days originally.
Now I kinda like it, haven't tried HEM yet but I guess I could seeing as I'd prefer to stick with cash for as long as I can and want instead of playing sngs or mtts.

Now when my trial ends should I trial HEM ? BTW, what's the trial period for HEM ? And if I do is it possible to translate my current PT3 database to HEM as its 20k hands?

Another option of course is just donking the $80 for one of the two but I feel a little reluctant. I'm in the very beginning of my 'career'. I don't feel I'm a good player yet and struggle to stay positive. ATM I'm at 10nl but I'm so swingy it feels like I can't maintain a constant profit. So is this really the best time to donate $80 for a program that I might not use 2 months from now cause I went busto or gave up hope ?

What do you guys think I should do ?

Hey eNTy ... yeah i think you should try HEM, I mean, it's FREE to try for 15 days. You would just need to copy all the HH files and have HEM import them ... and FYI HEM's importer is a lot faster that PT3.

Now ... if you are worried about the cost, lets say you do like HEM. ANd you know that Curtis one day might be in the market for it. And you know you can install it on 2 PCs total ... hmmm....

Anyways once you commit to cash game poker it's a must-buy so ... you should make up your mind on that before spending the money but think of it as a necessary business tool.

USB mobile

I use a mobile dongle it does slow my lap top down a bit but not so much as to affect my game... although the max I play is 4 tables

Hm I didn't know that about the 2 pc's. So the initial buyer can just send the setup file to any other pc he wants and they're allowed to install and run it legally ?
That IS interesting ;).

And I honestly believe it is a necessary business tool. I just don't know if it's a profitable decision atm.
In any case I can't buy it with the money I have in pokersites but I got enough cash to buy it with 'real life money'. Also it's cool that $/euro is a pretty nice rate.

Wtf is your logic flatting a 4-bet with 56s??? You're calling 28 to win 20+235 = 245. So even going on implied odds you've got 8.75:1 and when you're gonna stack off here with flush draw against possible overpair (even QJ probably calls here in 4-bet pot with 2 flush draws).

So you're barely getting odds even if you assume perfect implied odds (as in you get his stack every time you hit the best hand and fold everytime else. Reality is he has AK and you pair a 4 or 5 no way you stack). Basically no likey at all preflop.

Postflop is fine. QQ/AJ bets flop and you fold out AK/33-TT/other random trash here I think plus the 9 outs (maybe 8 though and it's a shot you're drawing dead to a boat or even just like AKc here).

So yeah, preflop is just plain spew imo but postflop's fine.
