I've been having troubles at ring games with both HE and Omaha 8/b so I decided yesterday to do some 90 man SnG's. I've played three and came in 3rd, 5th, then 6th.

I may start doing these a lot more.

I lost half my roll today playing within BRM woohoo !

About 5.5 BI's at 10 nl and the rest in bubblements beats in the Double or Nothings.

BR went from $300 to $170 between stars and Everest.

Usually 4 minimum, often 6, sometimes up to 8 if the tables are good and stay that way for long enough. Sucks for volume.

scratch the whole gold thing, I built up to 450$ from 200$ in the last week and a few days, then proceed to tilt and play a 30$ then 2 20$ sngs and mtts....losing all three...so I cashed oout all the money so I wont keep playing....this sucs but o well Ill re deposit when I think I can have some dam discipline....

after I got done posting this I realized it looks like a tilt/lose all your money and cover it up by saying you cashed out,...but I honestly did, I probably don't need to say this but I'd rather do it, since I had others come at me before saying I was lying to myself

we're down like $600 :)

but nah, i'm not worried, super standard downswing, he's running really bad. the guy's overall graph is sweet and he definitely knows what he's doing

will update once we're profitable again!

my horse is now up a few hundreds, yay

Curtis, you know you and me are friends, and I don't like to do this publicly but I think it's for your own good. When you said you would move to cash I told you I didn't think you could hold up. You said you would. You've only proved me right.

Honestly, I'm disappointed in you. I know you have what it takes in terms of poker skill. Clearly you are not able to make it as a cash game player. Maybe you over-did it in terms of hands played, maybe the small stakes got to your head. I don't know. Maybe you have ME on tilt from your post.

I just have little respect for the "OMG I TILTED! I LOST! NOW ITS TIME TO CASH OUT!" ... looks like a tuck-tail-and-run move.

Anyways dude, this sucks. I'm pissed and disappointed. Hopefully you dont take this personally...

Rough month so far. Actually, I think ive been tilting slightly lately, so I really need to get my head in the right spot again, since this isn't even that bad of a stretch. I'm thinking of playing for a living next year, so I can't be tilting over a measly 17k hands or so.

Without knowing all the details and motives and such I apologize for getting in the way here.

But that just seems like a very personal post ... And then you say don't take it personally. Isn't it meant for him to take it personally ?

On another note, tilt sucks and I'm sad for you KC. It's hard to play through the rough spots and manage tilt. I have little experience with that and almost all bad. I don't withdraw though, cause I'm probably too stupid for that, plus I don't really need the money in real life. I would rather it stays online in hopes of me building it. But I can understand your withdrawal on some level. I just think there are better ways to combat tilt and a few high stakes shots ending badly than cashing it out and throwing in the towel.

I know I'm a hypocrite seeing as you tried to talk me out of blowing my br on 50nl that one night and I was too stubborn and drunk to listen. But I hope you can see past that and believe what I said. There's still hope for you yet my friend. We beginning cash players just need to learn to deal with swings, beats, tilt and all that other stuff that makes cash so much fun :p.

Hang in there buddy and I hope you re-deposit when you feel like taking another crack at it. Even if it's not cash you could always go back to playing the MTTs you loved and who knows you might want to give cash another shot in a few days/weeks/months.

KC I say scratch any and all VIP levels when you are playing at nl$10, tbh I don't get why you are so determined to be playing a gazillion tables either. Drop to 4 tables, concentrate on your game, forget about FPP's until you move up, dominate on nl$10 and make lots of moniez. You should be concentrating more on moving up to nl$25 rather than being even remotely concerned about gold. Ok at the moment you see me aiming for platinum, but certainly not to the detriment of my move back up to nl$100.

Oh seriously get your HUD sorted, it was omg terrible watching that piece of shit hud during our sweat session the last night, the is also no way in hell you can follow the play on anything over 4 tables using it. Its really a HUD for a single table player. I'm sure you have a spare $100 or so around ( You better :) ) and go get PT3 or HEM, if not get one of the trials. Do some more sweat sessions, play a freeroll or two just so you can shove rags arrin preflop.

I agree about the VIP levels, but Tenbob I believe the problem is KC is running on a mac and they don't work with PT3 or HEM AFAIK.

I think I do have what it takes tbh...the only thing is that my leak is a different one in terms of poker. It's not my play it's my discipline. I have been here for a while to take anything personally anymore ;) I take everything now with an open mind and try to learn as much as possible. So basically...thanks :)

Thanks man and it's ok Ice gets tilty too sometimes and I say things that are blunt. It's more of a DUDE WTF kind of thing lol. but I appreciate your words and understand us newbs nees to straighten up lol.

I really think you nailed it on the head here TB. I thik my one and only goal should be to KILL 10nl and move up to 25nl, then 50nl. Once I get there then maybe I can start to try and benefit from the VIP levels. I think I might just get a parallel which basically lets me run Windows on a Mac therfor I can use PT3 or HEM.(don't worry if I didn't have 100$ in the bank I'd be dead somewhere right now ;)

So basically what I am going to do is just take a small break. Then start fresh and play 4-6 tables....I am beating 10nl just not Killing it, which I think I can.

Just as an add-on I think playing your A game through the downswings is as tough if not tougher than being good at poker. It's easy to play when you're winning all your flips, they always have bottom set instead of top set when you have mid set, and your hitting sets left and right. What defines us is how we handle it when we can't seem to win a hand, they always have the top of their range, and our graph just seems to keep going down. No one's there completely, hell anyone following letherass knows he's hit a bad downswing and vented quite a bit. And that guy's paying a mental coach to live with him and help him control tilt. Downswings happen, it's what makes poker tough. What are you going to do about it? It's fine to bitch about it a bit if it gets it off your mind and then you can go back to playing your A game. But if you're continually dwelling on the fact that you always run bad, I can't see how it could not affect your play.
