I didn't see the game I was at work, but if i'm reading Gords post right the Leafs won!! Right? snakeyes trying to make me believe habs won. As far as officiating in the NHL, this has always been a contraversy and huge topic amongst fans, Do you guys remember Bruce Hood!! I couldn't stand him for years, then he grew on me. hehe

Imo this was the one T.O vs Mon. game that I thought montreal actually deserved it's win over Toronto.. I don't know what was up in the first period, the leaf's didn't have that fire.. the physical presence.. How many hit's did Kilger deliver ? What about our twin towers, I barely saw them chip the puck in and HAMMER the defense into the boards. (Which had caused so many turnover's in the past) I thought the other two periods the leafs played good, but slacking so much in the first costed the game. (And poor goaltending from Raycroft, but Abby was worse)

On a side note, Pohl and Bates have easily become my favourite line (liked it best with devereaux in there ).. Holy crap, hat's off to Mr. Maurice for that one.

Leafs acquire Yanic! I use to love Yanic when I was younger, great face off man.. And we only gave up Bell and a 5th round.

Leafs have a HELL of a big climb to a playoff spot now.. lots of games vs teams way above .500.... BUT THERE IS HOPE. (Assuming tucker and wellwood get back soon ) I miss watching wellwood play lol.

The bad news for both Montreal and Toronto is that the Islanders just picked up Ryan Smyth, which makes htem a lot tougher down the stretch.

What are the oilers thinking????? Of all the players I thought wouldn't be dealt today he was one. Looks like the oilers are waving the white flag indicating that they are giving up on this season.

Montreal did nothing at the deadline, which is a little dissappointing, but I'm glad they didn't trade Souray away.

The season was done, but they have given up on next year and the one after. Here is the jist of the email I have sent to most of my fellow Oiler fans:

The whole point of the lock out and why it was to be so good for the Oilers was so that we could retain our talent. I've watched and hoped for too many years as we traded our stars for prospects and blamed it on being in a small market. Now the playing field is level and we won't sign the franchise player? Oh ya, sign Roloson to a big contract after play 20 regular season games and a playoff run. Sign Pisani after doing nothing in the regular season and 'reward the hometown boy' with a big contract, but Ryan Smyth has to take a home town discount because he has bled copper and blue for the past 12 seasons? Smyth should have been signed last summer before either one of those two douche bags got contracts and now we let him walk away for what? Prospects? O'Marra is barely a point/game guy in Junior, Nilsson can't put up a point a game in the AHL - how how are these guys going to help the team? We have enough 3rd line crash and bang style players - we need to retain our superstars. What's next, trade Hemsky and Stoll to the Flames for a second round pick in 2010? We may as well. We didn't get anything back for Smyth. Why not address our blueline problem if nothing else? Some defense prospects should have been the only thing Lowe was looking for - how many more small fast forwards with bad hands do we need? We can fill our own AHL team with those type of players.

That was a late ****ing hit, Jannson was CLEARLY headhunting.. and hit Kaberle with an elbow.. knocked him cold.. And Kaberle had to be taken out on a stretcher..

The ref. was standing about 10 feet from this all AND THERE WAS NO FREAKEN CALL....

Worst officiating ever. The ref should be fined for not doing anything about it, People will get injured over this shit. (Maybe a bit extreme).

The Officiating has to go. I'm ****in sick of this... If Kaberle is out for an extended period of time the leaf's playoff chase just got 10x harder.

Been advertisement and such for a while now, Firepay pulled out as well. The U.S doing what they are doin is influencing leaders and activists over here, and were starting to see the results of that.
