I'll see what the schedule is and what my wife thinks. It's more her trip than mine.
We fly into Edmonton June 6 and drive to Athabaska. Grad is on the 7th, then drive to Edmonton to spend the day on the 8th before an early flight back the morning of the 9th.

I talked to my wife and she's up for meeting for a drink in the evening on Friday, if you guys are still up for it. She's a lot more social than I am so it wasn't a difficult job convincing her.
Tickets are already booked and other things (like babysitting) are scheduled around the leave and return times so those things are pretty much set. It's pretty much an in-and-out kinda trip. My wife was going to go by herself but we haven't gone anywhere just the two of us for a few years so I'm tagging along.
She's just finished her masters in distance education at Athabaska, and has never been there or met any of her profs or advisors, so that's the main reason for her wanting to attend the grad ceremonies.

Well, we're off to Edmonton early tomorrow morning. Driving north, then back to Edmonton Friday and meeting up with gord and Lo-dog in the evening before we fly back early Saturday.
So, no poker, no CC for a few days.

Well, we made it back alive.
But it was fun, if short. We didn't have a lot of time, especially as our flight left at 7:30 this morning.
fyi Gord, we left for the airport at 6:15 (having checked in the night before using the hotel computer), and there were no problems with lineups anywhere.
And Aloe, the dogs were very nice; we only lost a little blood.
Oh wait, that was the mosquitos.

Well, I've got tons of nude pics somewhere on my computer; you sure you want to pay 100 for each of them?
We stayed outside Athabaska near some swamp area. You know how in the summer sometimes you see swarms of flies? Here there were swarms of mosquitos outside the doors of the house waiting to get in. The ones that are bugging me the most still are when we visited my wife's thesis supervisor. I had my shoes off, and got one bite on one foot and 2 on the other ankle, all of which itch like crazy now when I put shoes on.
And as a final treat, I got 2 more bites on my right hand while filling up the gas tank the night before we left.
But it's pretty kewl; because it's so far north the sun takes forever to finally go down and is up again early early in the morning. Didn't actually meet the dogs, we just played some pool and had a few drinks. Watch out for Lo-dog, the pool shark.

It was great meeting Ninelions. Nice to put a face to a name! His wife was very nice as well and I hope they enjoyed their brief stay. He is right, the misquitos here are horrible right now. I'm sure that Shinedown (being from Winnipeg) has seen much bigger than we get around here! We are getting almost 19 hours of daylight here these days, so it really ameks the days long!
LoDog and had quite the evening. We started about 2 hours before we actually met NL, drank for a few hours with him and his wife, drank for a couple more hours and got kicked out of that bar, then went across the street where we continued to get absolutely wrecked. Good thing my 8 month pregnant wife has a good sense of humour when I phoned for a ride at 2 AM. There are a TON of stories that my wife could tell you, but I honestly can't remember the conversation on the way back from the bar to verify if she was really telling the truth. Nothing she said really surprised me, as it is well known that LoDog and I are a comedy due when drunk. LOL

You did give fair warning tho Hi Dave! When I deposited at stars they had the option to do echeck, but now that is gone...so I'm not quite sure becasue I haven't had to deposit there again. Do you have accounts anywhere else??...I've been surviving on player to player transfers, from site to site. I got a few Canadians looking into it for you, will let you know when I get more info
