Hi Aloe.....haven't looked that far ahead yet. Big party this weekend for my brother in law (great guy). My sister has gone overboard for this one. Tons of BBQ, booze, jello shooters etc. She's even turned the garage into a "smoking area". Can't really plan ahead yet...have to see if I survive this one first :D .

Where's all my Canadian friends, have you all takin off for the long weekend?

If there are any of you who didn't go away camping,:) than does anyone have plans for Sunday Canada Day?

Where I live in Oshawa they always have 1000's of ppl go to the lake, where they have live bands, and other special attractions throughout the day and evening. come 10pm the huge boats out on Lake Ontario send of like 1/2hrs worth of Fireworks, of course you'll find me at the beer tent:D So if I'm here Sunday at Midnight be very very cautious.:p either that or you could just invite me to a game and take all my money;)

I'm one of those people that don't make much effort to co-ordinate my life with the rest of the world, and fortunately, or unfortunately, my wife is similar. Big things, like Christmas, are different but a long weekend for Canada Day, not so much.

Except that it means the last weekend of the jazz festival here, so we usually try to get out to see some of the free stuff. Usually it's full of the best local pros playing so it's worthwhile.

My Blues brought back Tkachuk. He's not the same player he used to be but we need some toughness in front of the net, and he brings it.

I can't believe the 8 year contract for Briere, WOW.

I can't wait to watch the Flyers play next year: Briere, Hartnell, Timonen, Upshall, Coburn, Parent, Kukkonen, Giroux, Downie....they are going to be young, fast, and talented for a long time. Not to mention the trade for a tough veteran D-Man in Jason Smith and Joffrey Lupul -- Paul Holmgren has done one hell of a job since the trade deadline.

Also, how about the Rangers getting both Gomez and Drury? I figured they would get one of the two but I never would've imagined them signing both. It sure looks good on paper, we'll just have to see how the chemistry works out, since that seems to have been the biggest downfall for the Rangers in the recent past.

Rangers and Flyers made HUGE improvements. Philly could easily go from worst to first if Biron plays well.

Paul Kariya is a Blue.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Don't sleep on my Blues next year. This new ownership is committed to winning. They also have very very good looking young prospects who won't be ready for next year besides Eric Johnson, but the year after look out.

Look at the bold type, I had to change to reflect the proper place as original newsletter was wrong.

Yeah, I'm going to give that a try. Better payout than the Canadian freerolls they've been running.

During the anniversary country freerolls the play was very weak; lots of play money players, I think. I was able to get $5 in one of the two tries I was allowed.

I missed the first 1/2 hour watching NFL preseason.

Interesting that they are allowing players from Pokerstars.NET (the players with stars on their circles).

I had AQ in SB, 2 limpers so I just called figuring any raise would only be for value. Flop comes TJQ so I led to see what happened. BB pushes, someone else pushes, the other calls, I fold.

I had the worst hand. BB had QJ, mid limper had AK , late limper had JJ :eek:. Don't expect these players to have what you expect them to have.
