I play on ACR and try and play in as many freerolls as possible. I think they are super fun and great practice.

I’m with you. It’s a lot wider of a playing style but it is good practice

just kidding I effin hate freerolls!

but I do hop in one every once in a while to try out a new strategy without the thought of money at all and to practice tilt control in bad beats :)

As someone else has commented Freerolls are a great way to get a bankroll without any risk, I have over the years played often and amassed over £200 on several sites,
One site I loved playing on went bust and went into receivership. and I had over £100 built up so was a little worried but thankfully pokerstars bought the player data base and I had the money credited to my Account with them so all is good.
At the end of the day even if I had lost the £100 it would not be my money I lost as I had not made a deposit and had won it all in freerolls.

Freerolls are a tool for learning the game! Then use the money to learn more! Then more and more!

I would say it depends on what it is you are trying to accomplish.

If you are looking to learn the game and/or basic elements of online play, it can be a good learning tool. If you are looking to start a bankroll when you have no or limited means, they are valuable. If you just like playing the game and want to minimize risk, what place is better?

But if you are looking to make real money or become a great player, freerolls are not going to advance you on that path.

I only play poker to kill a bit of time and don't usually give full attention to it, so freerolls are ideal. I won't bother playing a freeroll that gets thousands of entries with min cash of a few cents, I consider those a waste of time. Our private games are good. I think even 60c for a couple of hours is ok. I don't have to sit and watch the table all the time, it pops up when it's my turn.

Anyone serious about playing poker would probably avoid freerolls or play them alongside other games.

Free roles are bad players who get the money in or call behind alot, for example KQ or have a draw, can be ok if a bounty tournament but it's free roles. There no bountys ins free roles
LOL freeroll players are bad playes I call B.S,take your money and play against some of the top freerollers at CC ,see how bad they really are:icon_stud

I always play freerolls, this is a good place to increase bankroll, and play for free in cash tournaments.

I don't think they are a waste of time i think of a free roll as a training tool with just maybe a little bonus at the end :bandit: see you all later at the tables

I am on a budget so I mostly play free rolls and as I’m not the most invested player it does not feel like time wasted. It’s good practice and a chance at winning money.

There are freerolls where we really have lost hours. Many freerolls enter recreational players who do not know how to play. They are there just for fun, not that it is wrong but who wants to play for real and try to raise their bankroll and is faced with these recreational games playing with marginal hands and without knowing what they are doing, it really is very bad.

If you’re looking to build a bankroll from nothing or don’t have spare money for poker, freerolls are excellent. Outside of that I would never recommend someone spend their time playing them

Good morning everyone

With the United States "out" of the world poker scene, what would be the new big power at the tables? With the closure of the World Championship Of Online Poker ?:call2::icon_king;)

Freerolls

Freerolls are a good way of getting into poker and experiencing a tournament feel but people are very loose and Chuck chips around a lot as it’s a free game so sometimes it’s like playing bingo so you have to get lucky to make a little cash in these

Over the years, especially in my early online poker days, I spent countless hours in freerolls. Why not, I was only working part time and going to school part time. Life was easy back then. Now, my time is limited for poker so I'm playing less and less freerolls, spending my time on actual descent size buyins so I can get a sizeable return for my time spent, granted making the money. Any thoughts on how much time you've consumed in freeroll land. Is it worth it?

When I started playing poker, I participated in all possible freerolls.
Today I optimize my time more by participating only in those that give me a considerable return with the time spent.
PS: I recommend doing that too!

The key word is FREEroll. Its free and you can win some money, not much, depending on the freeroll but again its free and you can learn alot by playing without committing your money

I still have limited time but I organize myself to play and I do not consider wasting my time in freeroll, it is a good way to play bigger tournaments with a small investment or I see it, it is also a good way to control your game since the The behavior of the players is different, especially the free ones, and that does help you in different tournaments.
so I don't consider it wasted hours

I don't mind freerolls. I find quite a few players play wild and reckless, because it's technically free, with nothing to lose. I just see them as good practices and a bit of fun.

well in reality they are not hours wasted as long as there are good free rolls you have to give everything and be very patient to get to the bubble all effort has your reward playing between 5 to 6 hours in free roll
