depends on the freeroll, if it is a freeroll for a few people and it pays well it's worth it. Of course if you can play for real money is better

To me freerolls are definitely not a waste of time. But then again an individual might make the choice to waste the time spent there if he/she is not attempting to play them in a productive manner.

Productive manner is key. Anybody can get in a freeroll and ride a wave of all ins to make a stack... I mean every dog has it's day. But if you can be disciplined.. play the right way.. fold when the wave comes and 5 people are all in.. Then start picking them off. (But by all means if you have a monster join that crowd at the all in table..AA, KK)

Try to treat the freeroll as if you have skin in the game.. if not you're just wasting your time..

I put $100 bucks into poker just to have fun.. blew thru that in a month of messing around. Put another $100 in.. had it down to 70ish.. then decided to actually read.. watch videos.. join sites.. hit the forums..

Played a lot of freerolls while working on my discipline.. I mean if I can't have discipline there why would I keep throwing my money away entering tournaments? Still a MAJOR work in progress..

So I guess what I'm saying.. freerolls to me are a learning place.. not trying to get rich in them, but am trying to get to a better in how I play at them.

Oh, by the way.. got that 70ish back up to $97.37.

I personally think the sites are quite greedy in terms of payouts and the actual amount of freerolls that are going on. one a day or so on certain sites and like a 20 pound prize pool I'm not saying it should be 100s or whatever but make it half decent you have to grind away for 6 hours for like $6.99 up top. I won the 250 bankroll booster 3 times on party which was pretty good for like 45 dollars but these type of freerolls aren't on often enough

Freerolls are not nor will be wasted time, especially for those who start in the world of poker or for those who do not have a bankroll. I think is the way to have fun if you really love poker and can with patience, discipline and dedication create a small bankroll to move to the next level. Enjoy poker and luck at the tables !!!

The freeroll is the better option than to play with your money and to lose them, if you are patient enough the freerolls are a good choice to develop skills and to earn starting capital

Private freerolls are great for building bankrolls - especially ours. :)

Public freerolls are definitely a huge waste of time in my opinion.
You're so right. I can not wait to join the Freeroll Club and play poker every day.

frerolls are a godsend for those of little income, the possibility to go from zero to hero without putting money in is a rare thing in this world....first four hours yesterday i got 35th in CardsChat freeroll on stars plus these little beauties, had a totally awesome day!
35th of 188 CardsChat freeroll NLH
25c PLO 3rd3rd of 41 PLO
PLO 216 plyrs 1st place1st of 216 PLO

and finished the day a little gutted, after pushing with A9 off in the SB,table had folded round to me,big stack/BB had AK and it was all over rover for a dollar ten....a tiny bit more patience and id be playing in the sunday storm now...my fault for pushing against big stack without top kicker but i dont think it was bad play as much as bad luck/timing...gl 2u.
4th of 100 sunday storm 11c sat no rebuy or addon used.
Sunstrm sat 4th

Over the years, especially in my early online poker days, I spent countless hours in freerolls. Why not, I was only working part time and going to school part time. Life was easy back then. Now, my time is limited for poker so I'm playing less and less freerolls, spending my time on actual descent size buyins so I can get a sizeable return for my time spent, granted making the money. Any thoughts on how much time you've consumed in freeroll land. Is it worth it?
freerolls is just a way to improve your gameplay............its not like they ever pay deservedly for the time you put in..........good move to invest your money into your poker time.......
good luck...........:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hello, usually if you do not win a good prize in the freeroll and on the contrary you do not do it or you only earn a few cents of course that you feel is lost time. But if at any time you FT or you win then I would say that you pass all the evils and bless the free.

For me, freerolls have a main source of income. And then other tournaments. To each their own priorities.

To me, freerolls are a great way to build cash and work of your game. CC is the best!
In most freerolls all in's at the beginning are quite common. Wait them out or call with a killer pair.:stupido:

Basically the game is Freerolls or loss of time or vice versa. It all depends on whether you are a good player. If you such it Freerolls you are wasting time. Yet many players have done precisely bankroll of Freerolls:)

I play on ACR and try and play in as many freerolls as possible. I think they are super fun and great practice.

if you don't have a bankroll then it's never waste of time if you want to try to build something from zero. If you want to try some new concepts vs recreational players then it's again no waste of time. If you play freerolls regulary and you try to win some few cents and everyday you make same mistakes and you don't try to improve your game then yes.. it's a waste of time.

Freerolls are easy to play and you don't get nervous when you loose the game because hey it's only a freeroll, you don;t loose your money. Now a days It's a small number of freerolls to play. Couple years ago was much more freerolls.

Everything is valid especially when you are learning. today in days 2 years after I started playing poker seriously, I rarely play freerolls other than the CC. but when I was learning I learned a lot how to deal with the frustration that poker brings with you in freerolls
