I haven't seen any of the fights, yet.. about to head to bed. I'm pretty tired.. but Bader and Jones are up next, so I may watch that then go to bed. I'll post results and our point standings tomorrow.

I don't know why I put the Franklin/Griffin fight as FOTN.. I think Bader and Jones are going to take the FOTN honors.. but oh well. It's about to start!

Holy crap! I just got chills. Bones just dominated Ryan Bader, and since Rashad Evans blew out his knee and was scheduled to fight Shogun for the light heavyweight title, they just offered Bones the fight and of course, he accepted!

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Johnny "Bones" Jones for the Light Heavyweight Title!! Will be a great fight! Not sure when it's going to happen, though.

He can't fight, he blew out his knee. I'm sure when Rashad gets healthy, he'll get his title shot against whoever has the belt.

If a fighter waits for the champion to get healthy to fight, that's understandable, because if a fighter who is scheduled for a title shot fights someone else due to the champion's injury, and then loses that fight, he'll lose his title shot. But there is no reason for a champion to wait for a certain challenger to get healthy so they can get their crack at the belt. When the challenger gets healthy, the title will still be there. Just a new champion may or may not be holding it.

Yeah it looks like Evans is out 6-8 weeks so the likelihood is that he'll face the Shogun-Jones winner the back end of Summer

did he blow out his knee is training i take it?? dam only 1 month away from his title shot. good point though that he'll get his shot back, just maybe a different belt holder. all is good i suppose, just frustrating b/c ive waited almost a year now to see him fight again.

Keith Jardine was one of, if not THE, most overrated UFC fighters in their history.

Out of the 3 notable people that he beat in the UFC.. he beat Chuck Liddell via split decision after that one knock down in the 2nd round and Chuck began retreating after that.. that was during Chuck's downfall, and any other UFC fighter would have KO'd Chuck with a hit like that.

Forrest Griffin was unsure of himself, and he definitely was not the Forrest Griffin that we saw fight Shogun or Rampage at that time.

And he decisioned Brandon Vera in 2008.. who was just as overrated as Keith Jardine at one time.. maybe even more so.

Ugh.. sorry, I don't like that guy, lol. I still can't believe he was ever rated in some people's Top 10 Light Heavyweights. Keith's not even fighting in the UFC anymore, he's gone 1-1 since leaving to other promotions.

---------------------------

I don't jump on many "hype" bandwagons, but there have been 3 people's bandwagons that I have jumped on at the beginning that I felt I saw something special in them. At least I was right about 2 of them, lol. Jon Jones and Shane Carwin.. 2 of my favorite UFC fighters.. I also really liked Houston Alexander, thought he was going to be something.. he probably would have been a better boxer than MMA fighter. Hard hitter, but really couldn't do much else.

Yeah it is! Though, there were 2 people who picked the right winner, right outcome, and the right "of the night" prize. First people to do all 3 in this fantasy league so far, I think.

cjroc with Jon Jones' Submission of the Night and thesoxwin with Anderson Silva's KO of the Night.

Patty I was right Rashad's a bitch

His words:"I'm happy for Jones, I think it's a great fight for him. I think Jones is going to smash Rua."

"Training with Jones in practice, he's one of the best guys I've ever trained with. The level he's gotten to so fast is scary and alarming. He's one of those guys at the gym, he'll be the first one there and the last one to leave. ... He's hungry, he wants it, so I'm glad if it's going to be someone to step into my place, I'm glad it's him."

"I'm still not going to fight Jon. I will always find something to challenge myself. I will go up to heavyweight or down to middleweight. But I will not fight Jon."

no...i REALLY dont see rua beating jones. i just think jones has the full package (almost). if his stand up was super crisp like rashad or bader..hell even rua...omg what a freak. but i just think he's too nasty.

granted ive honestly only seen maybe ...3 Rua fights my entire life....ive been following the UFC obsessively the past 3 years or so and just never get to see Rua that much.
