Another stacked card.. great to see Urijah Faber coming back in action, too.. and there's not even a title fight on that card!

UFC 129 is looking good, too. GSP vs. Jake Shields for the Welterweight Title.. and although they don't have it listed on the site, yet.. looks like Randy Couture will be fighting Lyoto Machida in the Light Heavyweight division then. Plus, Ben Henderson will be back in action after his defeat at the hands of Anthony Pettis.. I'm a big fan of Ben Henderson.

The "official" announcements are shown at www.ufc.com - but I was watching MMA Live the other day, and they said that Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida is going to be on that card.. they just have not made an official announcement for it, yet.

that would be an interesting fight...and one i would want to watch that being machida vs couture...i love watching GSP dominate everybody and i dont think Shields will be any different for him in terms of threat to his belt.

im with you on the ben hendo bandwagon dude...guy is so cool, great personality

After Ben's loss to Pettis, I don't think there is a Ben Hendo bandwagon anymore, lol. I just really like his style of fighting, and he's a very nice and sincere person.. plus he's training in the same camp as Shane Carwin, who I'm also a big fan of, and can't wait to see him fight again! He just needs to work on his cardio!

He's scheduled to fight Cheick Kongo (according to wikipedia) at UFC 131 in June. Carwin has confirmed the June 11th date, but didn't mention an opponent.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Carwin's.. he's a fighter who loves and respects his fans, and actually likes to answer question and just talk to his fans. I had a conversation over Twitter with him before. Very nice guy! He also regularly blogs and replies to fan comments on his blog.

Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (Middleweight Championship) - Silva Via UD
Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin (Light Heavyweights) - Franklin Via KO (FOTN)
Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha (Welterweights) - Rocha Via Sub (SOTN)
Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader (Light Heavyweights)- Jones Via TKO
Miguel Torres vs. Antonio Banuelos (Bantamweights) - Miguel Torres Via SUB
Donald Cerrone vs. Paul Kelly (Lightweights) - Donald Cerrone Via UD
Chad Mendes vs. Michihiro Omigawa (Featherweights) - Chad Mendes Via UD
Paul Taylor vs. Gabe Ruediger (Lightweights) - Gabe Ruediger Via Sub
Norifumi Yamamoto vs. Demetrious Johnson (Bantamweights) - Norifumi Yamamoto Via KO
Kyle Kingsbury vs. Ricardo Romero (Light Heavyweights) - Ricardo Romero Via SUB
Mike Pierce vs. Kenny Robertson (Welterweights) - Mike Pierce Via UD

BTW I think some people are underestimating Jake Shields other than GSP. There is a reason why he is getting a title shot after one fight in the UFC even though there are guys like Fitch who have won several fights straight in the UFC. He is a great grappler, if you watched the Kampmann fight you think he's not that good because he wasn't in very good shape for that fight. He's actually a middleweight fighter but Dana White said he's too small for middleweight.

However, he has not lost a fight in 5 years. He has been on a 14 fight win streak and is a very tough competitor. If you watched his fight with Dan Henderson I think you will be a little more nervous if your a GSP fan lol.

Before the Kampmann fight, I thought Jake had a great shot at actually taking the title away from GSP. Shields may even be a better wrestler than GSP, and he beat a much bigger Dan Henderson at 185.. then he had that sub-par showing against gatekeeper, Martin Kampmann, barely taking that win. In other fights, Shields could go all day and wrestle for 5 rounds.. but he gassed after 2 in the Kampmann fight. Though, that could be because of the big weight cut he had to do before the fight, and his cut this time around may not be as strenuous or difficult, but I dunno.

If Shields brings his A-game like when he was in Strikeforce, then he has a legitimate chance to win the belt. If he fights like he does against Kampmann, then GSP's going to shred him.

Yeah, gotta agree here. Kongo has no take down defense.. Carwin would take him down and beat him bloody with some G n' P. Done in the first round.

Agreed. I just feel that people do not know how good shields is and have the wrong impression of him just because he was gassed during the Kampmann fight. I think it's just because he's not used to the cut because he was at 185 for such a long time. I think 129 will be a great fight and I think that Shields will bring his A game, I can't wait for 129.

Of course 129 is in canada.. GSP only fights in Canada, it seems, lol.

The UFC knows they will sell a whole hell lot of tickets up there when GSP fights.

What do you guys think all I hear nowadays is that 155 is stacked which it is and alot of the up coming bouts are win and you in lose bye bye but from what i've seen I think the 145 division is very thin and I believe the ufc should consider asking guys how would they feel dropping down because they should want to bulid a division since it's now a UFC division just my taughts

i think 205 is more stacked.

but yea 145 is def not as heavy as 155 ...i dunno..i guess some could drop down if they wanted but im not that eager to see a stacked 145 division..most big names that i like are above 155 besides names like faber and aldo

There are a few fighters that are actually dropping. I originally heard that Clay Guida was suppose to be dropping, but he has a fight in June against the WEC Lightweight Champion, Anthony Pettis.. so, I'm not sure now.

Some "gatekeeper" type fighters at 155 are considering it.. fighters like Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher.
