Just watched the fight a while ago. Can't believe how bad Shogun looked. Really didn't think this fight would turn out to be so one-sided. I'm just back from a long weekend away and had no internet access so couldn't make my picks either Gonna be an interesting fight between Rashad and Bones. I'm glad they put their "brothers" bullshit aside.

Anyone else watched the full event and got any fights to reccommend?

Brendan Schaub vs Cro Cop fight was nice.

I know Jones is a beast but it was exactly like the Shogun who faced Coleman and should have lost just out of shape and not 100%

Exactly no1 can convince me that was the same shogun who destroyed Machida he looked overweight and out of condition I just felt sorry for him it was like a lion or croc lining up a defenseless animal

Yeah, it did look more like the Shogun who fought Forest Griffin, and not the Shogun who fought Machida. But to be a champion.. you have to stay consistent.

I think Rashad is the type of fighter that would give Jones a problem. Rashad is a good striker and better wrestler, and knows Jones inside and out. He probably knows his weaknesses, and definitely knows his strengths... but, Jones knows Rashad just as well. I think we'll see a really good fight, but I still think Jones will pull out the win.

It kind of pisses me off that Jones won't move up and fight at heavy weight and that Anderson Silva wont move up to a higher level either.

Jones has advantages over any fighter that steps in the octagon with him. Reach being the biggest. Jones walks around as a heavyweight and could cut some less weight to fight at that weight. Jones and Silva are able to cut so much weight and basically "bully" their opponents.

Rashad has better wrestling than Jones. He also has to be faster than Jones i would imagine. Striking he is probably superior too...but jones is one lanky weird styled mofo. Hope Rashad kicks his ass.

I really think that rashad wont stand a chance against jones.
As long as the fight is standing i give it a 90% advantage to jones.. In the clinch jones has excellent throws and the way he keeps his distance when fighting in the standup makes him very hard to take down. rashad will be forced to shoot from a extremly long distance.
He has beat good wrestlers before easily. Example ; Matt hamill And ryan bader.
But rashad being his biggest threat in the division? I say no.
Nobody is a threat to badboy jones

If Rashad isn't the biggest threat to Jones in the division im not sure who would be than?

I mean like Mortis said nobody knows Jones's style in the division better than Rashad, nobody knows his strengths and weaknesses better...not sure how anybody could be more of a threat than Rashad who has superior wrestling, stand up, and experience than Jones. But i guess we'll see.

Patty Rashad might know afew of Jones weaknesses but that won't matter as Jones will know everything about Rashad with him staying at Greg Jacksons and Rashad leaving so I give that edge to Jones but I think the biggest threat to Bones will be Mr Wonderful

Mr. Wonderful would be a good match....but phil needs some more quality wins over higher ranked opponents for sure before he gets that shot.

I think a Rogerio win and then maybe a win over the Randy-Machida winner but I doubt Randy would want that fight. Possibly Rampage after he knocks around Hamill but that fight isn't for another two months. Either way I see two more wins and if they're impressive Phil will get a shot.

If it's November, that'll be about a year and a half layoff for Rashad. I just think it's BS he gets a title shot after all that time and think it's kind of by default he gets the shot.

I think Rashad was kinda stupid to decide not to fight when Shogun was injured. Like Dana says, there's only a certain window fighters have to do their thing so waiting out for an injured opponent was never a good idea.

It's kinda funny how this has turned into a sort of a grudge match when they were "friends that wouldn't ever fight" a few weeks ago I'm glad they've put that shit behind them though.
