Yeah, seems like the smart bet.

I'm rooting for Coner just because I don't like Floyd as a person and I'd love to see him lose his perfect record to an MMA fighter as the ultimate humiliation but I'd say the odds are SUPER slim to none.

me too... except I don't like either one of them so ultimately I'd like to see them both lose (ie. Diaz punching them both out after the fight at the press conference would be decent imo)

Unbelievable! So now the title goes back to Cormier and Jones is basically done? How many great fights have we just lost out on? If this holds up, I'll be happy to never hear the name Jon Jones again.

Yeah who knows - USADA is taking the (somewhat extraordinary, IMO) step of saying people need to not jump to conclusions: https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/8/...efore-drawing-any-conclusions-about-jon-jones

I've got NFI what conclusions we are or aren't supposed to jump to, but I don't remember USADA ever coming out with a statement like that in the past about previous failed tests...

As for the great fights we'll miss out on, I'd be more bummed about that if Jones wasn't the king of such a crappy division. There's nobody at 205 either in or out of the UFC that I need to see him fight, or that he wouldn't just crush IMO.

We miss out on some potentially interesting superfights with heavyweights I guess, if they could ever pull them off. Uncle Dana was apparently talking about Jones vs Stipe for his next fight but, much as I appreciate Stipe, I think I'd still take Jones in that fight. In fact I'd expect him to start as favourite over pretty much the entire heavyweight top 15. Ngannou might be the most interesting matchup there on a pure size and athleticism level?

LOL has anyone been talking about much except for Mayweather-McGregor? There was a separate thread for the fight on here.

Fight went pretty much as expected. Conor managed to make a Mayweather fight somewhat entertaining, which was a great effort :p He was obviously gassed out by halfway through, and that was always going to happen, but I like he at least took his best shot in the opening couple of rounds, rather than conserving his gas tank for the later rounds when he was never going to be able to win a decision anyway.

Thought he did OK in the clinch, was interesting to see him actually using a jab (which he doesn't do much in MMA) and LOL at all the blatant fouls :p

I cashed my Floyd SU, Floyd ITD, Conor wins a round and Conor punches landed > random Aussie footballer disposals bets, solid day :)

Interesting to hear that apparently two of the judges had it 8-1 Mayweather going into the 10th.

Now I don't watch boxing all that often so i don't know exactly how the fights are judged compared to MMA, but I can't see any way that McGregor only won ONE round. He started out way more agressive and landed more in the first 3 especially, you could also argue he won one of the later rounds. I mean we all know McGregor wasn't going to win a decision but I didn't think I'd have to put it down to the judges dodgy scoring.

Can you imagine if somehow McGregor managed to carry on and win the last 2 rounds they judges would've had it 9-3!

Yeah, I'm no boxing judge or even boxing fan, but I can't see any way Coner didn't win rounds 1 - 3.

I was unaware of the thread. Explains the lack of conversation about the fight in this one.

Congrats with your bets.

I also thought the official scoring was strange. I think there are some arguments for rounds that could of went either way. But Conor at least had two rounds.

Conor impressed me. He done allot better then I expected. I was routing for him to go the distance. That in itself would have been a victory.

Yeah I did wonder if maybe he was going for the Rocky 1 "I totally lost this fight but I went the distance with the champ, so call it a moral victory" approach.

But McGregor and the UFC get that "landed more punches than Pacquiao" soundbite that they'll be using from now until the end of time instead, so that's a similar sort of moral victory :p

I was out at the lake & missed the fights. Well... most of them. I caught the very last round of the Main Event.

I lost $'s on Valentina but would pick her again all day.

Had one parlay of 5 fights and when I was checking the results the first 4 I checked my picks had won!!! The final one was Mitch Clarke. I find out he lost.. .wtf? $50 to win $1050. I mean who the eff is Mitch anyways? I really have no clue why I even chose him. :( (I had Bhullar, Stephens, Latifi, & DosAnjos. Oh.. yah.. & 'Clarke'?)

I didn't even realise until I was checking results on the day that the Mighty Mouse fight got cancelled (opening weekend of the NFL, LOL). Gotta feel sorry for the guy...

As for the Nunes-Shevchenko fight, I had Nunes so happy with the result. Shevchenko has to realise her slow-paced style is always going to be a problem with the judges.

Yeah I was pretty bummed to see that fight get dropped. Supposedly DJ said he's yet to get paid by the UFC and isn't sure if he'll receive anything either (from MMA Hour). That being said I'm sure the UFC will pay him unless they're looking to get the fight back on in a few weeks for 216.

On the plus side though Cejudo looked SHARP against Reis, like a different fighter. Wouldn't mind seeing him face DJ again after Borg.

goddamn mighty mouse is good ... he clowned ray borg ... i think his next fight will be the winner of pettis vs cejudo and i dont know what benavides' situation is but he should have his rematch after dj's next fight.. as for the lightweight division ferguson is looking scary af but i still feel like he wouldnt beat khabib. BUT i think khabib cant make 155 anymore and i think he will have to move up to welter and thats where he will lose .. i do think ufc NEEDs to open a 165 division and move welter up to 175. so fighterts like kevin lee, tony ferguson, RDA, khabib, nate diaz, cowboy cerrone, u know those fighters that are way too big for 155 and small on 170 will have a place to fight at their best
