Also, Masvidal is really good. He has lost some fights in the past for fighting too confident and not aggressive enough, but that certainly changed in his fight against Cerrone. He looked great.

So is not like Cerrone is going downhill. He faced a great opponent.

Not like he's gonna make a difference in Bellator. Joe Rogan's the main commentator who people like to watch.

I disagree, it seems to me fans dislike the way Mike Goldberg was let go. I for one will make it a point to tune in to what ever first event he will be commenting on.

Anyone have any thoughts on Saturday's card? Could it be any less exciting?

Yeah it seems like an underwhelming card.

A few reasons to watch ....

Seeing Anderson in the cage again. He is 41 and one of the greats and most of yesterdays stars are either already retired or very close to it.

History will be made with the first ever 145lb woman champion being crowned so that is another reason to watch even if you are not that interested in the match up. It might be nice years from now to say .. I watched it as it happened.

And being a B.J. fan I am interested in seeing how Lentz will do in his fight and if he will mention B.J. or not afterwards. Maby he will wright another poem ....

But as for the match making..... none of the fights interest me that much but I'm watching regardless.

Looking at the odds I'm thinking about putting $100 on Holly.

What does everyone think ? Is there a better fight on the card to bet on ?

Not really sure about the betting. But I am mainly excited to see Anderson Silva. It seems like this might be his last fight and he had a nice career. He is always fun to watch. I'm surprised he is still fighting at this age.

Not sure what the odds are but I don't know that she wins either. Holly hasn't really looked good recently and if not for matching styles against Rhonda so well she may well be off the UFC roster by now.

She is at even money at PartyBets. I never pulled the trigger yet but I did place a 7 fight parlay to win $9 grand.

Germaine has been fighting less than once a year since 2013 ( not at all in 2014). Holly has been much more active.

I guess I will just throw the $50 on her I got sitting in my party bets account.

I don't bet on sports except when I win freebets, but I've been considering this same bet. It seems to me Holm should be a clear favorite, so good odds, IMO.

Well, I just placed a 5euro bet at one room and a 1.30$ bet at another one, both on Holm winning.

I was looking at odds earlier this week and pretty much everywhere had de randamie as favourite, pretty surprising if you ask me.

Yes Holm is coming off two losses... decision loss against shevchenko. She looked good and was winning the title fight against Tate until the last round where she went out punching... she's been way more active and if you actually look at de randamies ufc record it really isn't anything to rave about. We all know the UFC wanted cyborg for this fight so she's kind of a replacement ultimately.

I don't think either fighter is a huge favourite but you have to give holly the edge here.

I like Jim Miller against Poirier too, pretty big dog and poirier coming off that KO lost to michael Johnson.

Agree about Poirier and Holly.

Lentz just lost me my Parlay. I knew I picked that fight wrong moments after I placed the bet.

That ref sucked! Sucked real bad!!

Couldn't believe him giving a 'warning' after the 2nd time she hit her after the bell (wtf was the first time for then?). Then at the end of the 5th he's stepping in before the fight is even over, lol.. sigh (yah.. I wanted Holly to win).
Also, bummer that Holly didn't disengage after clipping her with the left hand.
(haven't watched the prelims yet... might check it out now)

Yeah, a point should have been deducted. Holly was clearly rocked after the first late punch. Who knows how that shot effected the fight. Then it happened again.

I can't find the link and not word for word but I read that Big John said the bell signifies for the REF to stop the fight not the fighters to stop fighting .

I don't agree with the above but it's another point of view from a long time Ref who (from my understanding) help write the rules.

conor mcgregor vs khabib nurmagedov who win???

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over that question until the fight is actually happening: Conor would have to come back, want to fight Khabib, and then Khabib would have to get through a camp without injuring himself. None of those things is a gimme.

Hypothetically yes, if Khabib got Conor on the ground then Conor would have a Bad Time. In the past though Khabib has leaped in face first at his opponents throwing those weird uppercuts and stuff, and that's not exactly a clever thing to do against a counterpuncher as powerful and skilled as Conor. So who knows - again, I think the better bet here is that we never actually see this fight happen.

ANderson SIlva shouldnt have won that fight. ANd I feel Like Holly should have won as well, a point should have been deducted for that late punch that second time

Yeah, I did not understand that decision in favor of Anderson Silva. Even Anderson himself was surprised at the decision.

The Holly fight... what a nice precedent for fighters to keep throwing punches after the bell. You can even do it two rounds in a row and no points will be taken from you.

I think Anderson Silva lost the fight, the decision of the judges was strange. But Derek Brunson fought with fear
