Penn looked like a deer in headlights in there tonight. I know Yair makes a lot of fighters look confused but I hate to see someone like BJ fall so far that he looks like he's never fought before.

Please BJ don't come back ever again. You were great but the game has passed you by.

It was hard to watch that. B.J. looked old coming out to the fight at stare down and looked old sitting on the stool when it was over.

He somehow managed to find someone that was much bigger than him to fight at 145lbs. I didn't realize the size difference until they were in the cage. It is crazy to think this is the man that gave Machida a fight at HW.

Always a fan of the legend B.J. He did what only a few were able to. Two division champ. His victory over Matt Hughes was amazing. His domination in his LW Run.

Rumor has it that TUF 25 is going to be for WW and one of the WW that will be competing in it is someone currently on the UFC roster. I know we talked about it before and If my memory serves me right it it wasn't a popular suggestion. But If that is true ... I believe it will likely be CM Punk.

Any other guys come to mind ?

I've never really followed TUF (they don't show it on TV here, and frankly life's too short). But if the whole point of the show is meant to be that the winner gets a UFC contract then I can't see why anyone currently signed to the UFC would be on it. Much less CM Punk.

Don't they fight a whole bunch of times in a short space of time? I'd think Punk's age and injury history alone would rule him out of that. Plus let's be honest it's not like he'd be likely to make a deep run...

At the end of the day, Its a Business, Punk is a Business attraction. $$$$ Just Like Brock Lesnar brought in a lot of views. Its all about the money.

Absolutely - you don't need to convince me that the fight business is a business first and foremost :p

That's exactly the context in which I couldn't understand why they'd want to do something like put CM Punk on TUF though. TUF doesn't actually make the UFC much money, even if he did somehow bump ratings up a bit. They don't need to build Punk as a star because he's already as well known as he's ever going to be.

Maybe there'd be some more hype around his next fight if he somehow ran the gauntlet and had a deep run on the show, but that's a massive gamble to take. We all know the more likely outcome is that he gets finished quickly by the first person he fights, because he's a 38-year old with an injury history a mile long who only started serious MMA training a few years ago, and his one alleged skill set (BJJ) is the easiest one for any borderline competent fighter to neutralise.

If he loses badly on TUF then there's pretty much no way they can use him in the UFC again. If they don't do it, mabye they can get one more PPV out of him by claiming it was a fluke loss and he really is better than he seemed against Gall. We'll know it's a guddam lie, but they'll probably fool enough people into believing it to make it worth their while making the fight.

I don't watch TUF either ( I did watch the first 1 or 2 ) but some of the reasons UFC would decide to put him on TUF ....

TUF has been declining in views. CM Punk will bring views to the show. Even if he losses the show usually allows popular contestants to stick around for the duration of the show. I believe they did that with Kimbo Slice and a couple others.

If CM Punk manages to win even one fight on TUF it is highly likely UFC will at least use him for one more PPV so they get him both on TUF to boost ratings and an one off PPV. Instead of just one more PPV.

It will be much easier and more realistic to bring in someone to TUF that CM Punk can beat and give him a little hype then it would be finding someone in the UFC he could beat or bringing someone in specifically for him.

Maby his options were .... TUF or being CUT... so while he technically is already on the roster, it is possible he wouldn't be if he decided not to do TUF.

It might not be CM Punk but if the rumors are true .. who else could it be ?

Who knows - it's just a rumour at this stage after all, and not one any of the major/credible MMA news outlets seem to be reporting on so I'd take it with a pretty big grain of salt

Heard Habib will fight Conor but it is not clear when and where the fight will be. If they meet with Habib I think it will be a 5 round fight and finish)

Well he's fighting Ferguson at 209 for an interim belt, so it makes sense that the winner of that will get Conner next.

Yes, Conor would be back in a few months in time for that fight.

Excited about 209's rematch between Woodley and Thompson.

Yeah 209 looks to be a good card with the 2 fights discussed above and Hunt v Overeem could be interesting for a couple past-prime fighters (although not BJ Penn past). Rumor out there the Cerrone wants a fight on 209 as well against Maia or Lawler too.

Cerrone doesn't stop.

He fights Masvidal this saturday, so he'd have 5 weeks to recover and train for another fight (with whomever that would be)!

Yeah, it would be assuming he takes little to no damage this weekend. 5 weeks is like a vacation for Cerrone.

Cannot wait for the rematch. Hope Thompson takes it. Hope Khabib wins so he can ragdoll Conor and we can see a true champ! Conor hasn't had to defend a belt, should be stripped already. Cerrone fights every other weekend haha. Rooting for him too

I'm still bummed we didn't get to see cerrone vs lawler at 200, I hope they can make that happen for 209, would be a great fight! For Woodley vs Thompson I'm not too sure who I wanna win, but out of the two I'd rather see Maia school Woodley on the ground and win the belt so I guess I'm going Woodley!

McGregor is a good fighter, but after this his statement that he will fight after the wife will give birth to him, it seems to me that he avoids fight with Habib.

Yep, certainly bad for his career. He's lost 2 out his last 3 matches. Seems that age has finally taken it's toll on Cowboy. He might end up signing with Bellator in the near future. All the washed up UFC fighters follow trend. Hopefully it's not the end for Donald Cerrone.

Erm... are you sure you're talking about the right Cowboy? Or have "alternative facts" become a thing in sports now too?

Donald Cerrone is 4-1 (including this loss to Masvidal) in his last five, since moving to welterweight. His only other loss in years was to Dos Anjos in a title fight: he won eight in a row before that.

I don't think there's any sign that he's washed up yet and at any rate, Cerrone is still way too entertaining, well known and valuable for the UFC to let Bellator sign him away.
