Do any of you have any more precise information for Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier. I read on MMA that match will be held in April at Madison Square garden. This will be the first time that a UFC match will be held in New York, I think that they previously did not allow maintenance because of law state. Executive director of the UFC says they have submitted papers to the court of appeal and that are already scheduled an appointment for April 23 (check date for each case, but I think it's that day).
If someone have a little bit more or some new information I'd like to hear it.

IIRC it's something like this:

The UFC does, apparently, have a hold or tentative booking or something on MSG for that date, but there's no guarantees that MMA will be legalised in New York before April. If I were a betting man and LOL I totally am, I'd bet on it not happening before April 23.

I think I read somewhere else that there's also a hold on MSG on the same date for a Gennady Golovkin boxing match. So go figure.

As far as Jones and Cormier goes I don't think they've actually committed to fighting on April 23rd yet, and Cormier was making a lot of noise around the time it was announced Jones was coming back that Jones was going to have to come to him, and he wasn't going to go to New York for Jones.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see that fight end up on the UFC200 card. With Rousey confirmed out of that one they'll be looking for other big name fights to put on it and this would fit the bill nicely.

I have watched some footage on YouTube where Jones shows that he is ready for the match and also I red some criticisms by Cormier on Twitter, something like "why Jones sitting in the dark and watch my matches".
The UFC200 card should really overturn all previous cash.

What to say except: "Jon Jones, get your sh!t together. I'm waiting for you."

B.J. has come back ( again ) joined Greg Jackson's. He also been in battle of words with Nik Lentz and issued a challenge to him. Which Nik Lentz basically mocked and gave no answer to. It is rumored that B.J. will Face Dennis Siver in his return at UFC 197.

"That's who I am, Ariel," Penn told host Ariel Helwani. "That's who I am. That's what I do.

"I want to go get that 145-pound belt. That's definitely a huge motivation for me. I believe with Greg Jackson's help, I can get that done. And I believe that I will be able to walk away as the only man with three titles in three weight divisions."

TJ won 2 rounds. Cruz won 2 rounds / arguably 3

TJ was the aggressor and def was doing better towards the end, but the take downs and shots missed from TJ were in Cruz favor.

Had the fight gone another round, I think it would go in TJs favor.

But the scores were obnoxious. It should have been a 1pt diff every round, not 3 pts like the judges had it.

I agree completely. I don't think it was a clear-cut win for Dillishaw but I just don't see how you take the belt away on that fight.

I think Cruz was also treated as if he was the champion because he never lost the belt. That's why I think he got the nod on a close decision.

So what's up with UFC 196? It's looking like a circus event now. Is it going to be another cancelled UFC event? UFC 197 please no injury bug *crosses fingers*
It's a shame. It was OK after Caín was out of the event. Werdum vs Miocic promised to be a good fight.

But now Werdum is out as well, the main event is Johny Hendricks vs Stephen Thompson.

Benavidez vs Makovsky could be a good fight.

I cringed so hard through that whole BJ Penn interview.

Thinking he can come back, be in any way relevant and maybe win a fight or two is one thing. I don't think for a second he can do it, but if he wants to shorten his life by a few more years just to prove a point to himself... well... I guess there's no way to stop him.

But OMFG this ridiculous talk about wanting to win the featherweight belt?!? There's a murderer's row of guys lining up for a shot at McGregor. Frankie, Aldo, Mendes, they'd all destroy 2016 BJ Penn. Frankie already has. And that's before you even start thinking about Mystic Mac himself.

I think B.J. is going to surprise people. I think he is going to pull together some wins against mid level / boarderline top 10 guys and creep back into the top 10 at FW and at least earn himself a number 1 contender match. ( unless Edgar has the belt then B.J. is SOL ) UFC / Dana would love to make a B.J. vs Conor match and market the angle of, first man to go for gold in three divisions.

Dear gawd I hope it never comes to that... here's the FW top 15 as it stands right now:

Champion: Conor McGregor

1 Jose Aldo
2 Frankie Edgar
3 Chad Mendes
4 Max Holloway
5 Ricardo Lamas
6 Cub Swanson
7 Charles Oliveira
8 Dennis Bermudez
9 Jeremy Stephens
10 Hacran Dias
11 Darren Elkins
12 Tatsuya Kawajiri
13 Brian Ortega
14 Clay Guida
15 Nik Lentz

He's called out the #15 guy, so he's started all the way at the bottom. But I can't really think who on that list 2016 BJ Penn would go in as a favourite against?

He would have to do some major changes in his training, improve a LOT, and even then I don't think he'd have any chances of having a real comeback. He looked as bad as a fighter can look in his last fight against Frankie Edgar, it was painful to watch.

I still never watched the last Edgar fight.

He did do some changes. He is training with Greg Jackson's. And from my understanding ( from the articles I read ) not just training for a day / week or two and going back home but living there and doing 100% of his training with Greg Jackson for his up coming fight.

Rumor is B.J. is fighting Dennis Siver. Who I think is an under-rated fighter. I am not sure were he ( Siver ) is ranked, top 20 ? Siver fought Conor two fights ago and if memory serves me right was ranked 10th at the time ? Allot of guys are interchangeable a few spots up or down specially once you get past the top 10.

I think there is a few guys on that top 15 list B.J. would be a favored against. I would put him as a favorite over Jeremy Stephens and he is top 10. If the Lentz fight get made he will be a favorite over him. Cub Swanson match would be interesting and I wouldn't be all that surprised if that is the fight that got made B.J. would be a beating favorite.

I totally agree. I'm not sure if he just needs some money or if he really thinks he can challenge those guys. I guess we'll find out.

Slim chance money is the reason. He was rich before he had his first fight. He doesn't need fighting for money. What we have here is a guy who has fought all his life / loves to fight. He was at the top for a decent amount of time. It is hard to give all that up. He simply has the itch to fight again. And at 37 he knows he has to act fast on that itch or be left with what ifs.

Yeah, I think he just doesn't have anything else that he loves and he's just chasing the high of winning. It's usually really hard for these guys to see that it's no longer in their best interest to keep fighting. Most guys don't have the option to come back because when their skills go they're no longer a draw. BJ won't sell a PPV anymore but adding him to a PPV or a FS1 card will certainly add to the interest.

Yep, this ^. General consensus is he doesn't need the money.

I still never watched the last Edgar fight.

It was straight-out murder. Not even remotely competitive. Check that fight out, then come back and tell us how you think he's going to do almost two years later, even with help from Jackson and Winklejohn...

I will watch it eventually. I seen short video's of the fight and from what I seen he try'd to fight tall without fully extending his punches, which kinda defeats the purpose of fighting tall. I could be wrong since I didn't actually watch the fight.

Besides, I believe he was beaten before he entered the cage that night. Going up against someone who has already beat you twice ( who still happens to be one of the best in the division ) with you being on a big downswing isn't a good move. .... He should have picked his first opponent in a new division more carefully. Just like what it seems like he is doing this time around.

B.J. may very well be done but I wouldn't be all that surprised if he pulls together two wins and gets into a number 1 contender match.
