So... UFC193 is coming to my home town in November, and the UFC seems to think that they're going to break their attendance record and get 70,000 people to come by putting on lots and lots and lots of fights with Australians in them.
This is despite the fact that there aren't really any good Australian fighters in the UFC today, let alone booked for this card (I love Mark Hunt as much as anybody but he's a Kiwi, not an Aussie).
And to make it worse, they seem to be trying to give those underwhelming local fighters a chance to win by putting them up against equally underwhelming or low-profile opponents.
If anyone in charge were to ask me, an Australian UFC fan, what I'd like to see on this card, I'd tell them exciting fights, fighters with a profile, regardless of where they come from. I get it, they were never going to waste a McGregor or Rousey on us. But if they could give us some fights/fighters that we haven't seen before, rather than the same locals that they cram onto every Australian card, that'd be swell.
I'll probably go just for the experience but ugh, this card is shaping up even more lame than the UFC190 undercard...
