Well, I was just getting used of PT3 and how to use the software, when they decided to roll out PT4 . That was my first Tracker I have ever used and it was a bit overwhelming for me to use at first. I don't play as many hands in a year as most online players do, so it takes me a long time to get a handle on how to use the software. Even with the instructions I still seem to struggle with how to get everything to look the way I want it to.

I am currently trying to figure out how to get my HUD to look exactly like the one PT3 has, the HUD for PT4 is just to big and I would like it smaller.

We have included a copy of the PT3 HUD in PokerTracker 4, use the Legacy HUD Profile while you are playing. The size of the HUD will change if you change the size of the table, in PokerTracker 4 the Vector HUD Engine automatically scales along with the table.

the only one I seen while I was playing was the Legacy Tournament one so I tried it, but it was pretty much the same size as the one I'm using. I play strictly on the Merge network and I don't multi-table or resize the table I'm at either. PT3 I got really lucky with when I installed it because the HUD it used by default I just happened to like, so I never had to mess with making my own HUD before. Hopefully I can figure it out, I'll read over the directions it came with and check back here if I have any questions. Thank You in advance for helping.

just to update my previous post, I have figured out how to modify one of the existing HUD profiles it came with and it matches my old one pretty close. Problem solved as far as I am concerned. I can't believe how easy it was to do it.

Multi Entry tournaments on FTP are messed up. First, the tables get confused, so say I have 2 entries, entry 1 will show the stats for entry 2 etc so I end up making decisions on the fly based on the wrong stats. Also, sometimes the HUD will just disappear, it happened to me last night on the final table of a ME tournament which is really inconvenient.

This is a known issue which we are testing a fix for right now, if our fix is correct, it will be included in the next PokerTracker 4 release. This occurs because the hand histories do not have the entry numbers, only the table numbers... so we have created a complicated formula to sort this all out with the HUD - hopefully it will work (or FTP will include the entry number in the future, that would solve this dilema).

I don't know about other rooms, but on Carbon in tournaments when I look at the average stack they have it isn't matching the average stack that PT4 has displayed.

Which one is correct and why don't they match up?

It's the average stack of the particular table you're sitting at so won't correspond with the tournament average stack.

Correct. PT4 cannot determine the average stack in a tournament, we can only display information based on the hand histories provided by Carbon.

Cant wait until I'm making enough $ to justify buying PT4 Software. It looks like a very helpful analysis tool. Maybe another year grinding the tables and it will be mine !

Maybe if you get PokerTracker now, it won't take that long? A small investment might be what it takes to help you help yourself travel down the right path for your poker education. Our base price for Holdem small stakes is less than an average dinner for two!

Okay since I play only STT's I just assumed they would still match, but if it's based on the histories provided then I can understand. Thank You.

The live stack size in bbs and also the average stack size is calculated from the end of the prior hand. PokerTracker pulls the stack sizes reported in the hand histories to perform these calculations, this is why the live bb stat does not update as the stack sizes change mid-hand.

I have HEM1 running in a XP [1GB] VM on Ubuntu.

1] Is that enough RAM?

2] If I try the PT4 demo will it be able to use the Postgrel DB from HEM1
without "breaking" it if I decide to go back to HEM1?

Thanks!

I've used PT4 (I have the micro version) and switched back to HEM1 when I played a high BI tourney with no problems.

We recommend 3Gigs ram or greater with Windows. For the best experience, Windows XP is not recommended, but it will work if you disable some of the HUD features. The vast majority of users who send us trouble reports are from underpowered computers and Windows XP, users who have Windows 7, a modern multicore processor and 4Gigs + of ram rarely have any crash issues that are specific to their machines. Another thing to consider is drive speed, the slower the drive, the worse the performance from PostgreSQL (speed issues can be exaggerated by Virtual Machines, this affects any application that uses PostgreSQL hosted on the VM). Please see the minimum required specs here - https://www.pokertracker.com/faq/PT4#Minimum_Requirements

PokerTracker 4 only reads from the HEM database and then exports the hand histories to be imported into PT4. PT4 will not write to your HEM database, leaving you free to continue using HEM at any time if you need it.

Please visit our website, and log into your account. Make sure your account is updated to include your registration of PT3, then submit a support ticket so we can help you.

PS: Why are you still using PT3? We are ramping down support, as new game types are added by your poker room it will not be supported in PT3. We sugest you upgrade to PT4 to be fully compatible with your poker room's changes, for details on the PT3 to PT4 upgrade discounts please visit this web page: https://www.pokertracker.com/faq/PT4#upgrade-process-from-pt3-to-pt4

Using trial version at the moment, and when testing it started at $0 then went into the negative. Wondering what's the problem I started with $2 when using this, wanted a more accurate graph than to always deduct $2 from everything when working out my bankroll and play.

Cheers

PokerTracker can only measure what it knows, it does not know anything about your deposits or bankroll. The graph is not a bankroll measurement tool, it is used for winnings and losses derived from your hand histories.

Will not be purchasing this then. Cheers.

You should be aware that to the best of my knowledge, the only tools that perform what you are looking for are third party Apps where you need to manually enter your results in, a Tracker such as PT4 is not designed for that purpose, it is a vastly different a much much much more powerful tool.

As soon as the Mac version of PT4 was released, we stopped putting out frequent updates for PT3. We were waiting for the Mac Version of PT4 to be complete before we made this final step in the development priority switch.
