Then why would anyone play at BOL, where they take 6.5% themselves, and say that they are "not responsible for foreign currency conversion fees (FCCF)". ACR must also use third parties. Do the 3rd parties charge?

When I complained to BOL about this, they credited my account with the amount over 6.5%, but would not refund the FCCF.

Also, can anyone please explain how "rakeback" works, and how to get it? I am a serious player and it seems that I should be up on this.

Thanks....

Let me explain it, in our case we use international processors but they DO NOT charge fees. The thing is that when you do the deposit it would be considered as an International transaction, so YOUR bank or ANY other bank will charge you an International fee, not our processors, not on our side.

We have a 27% Rakeback and we have several ways of calculating it.

-Weighted Contributed Rake Calculation

With the Weighted Contributed Rake Calculation, players earn more credit based on how much rake they contribute to a pot. So a player who sticks it out until the end of the hand and contributes $2 in rake to a pot will earn more credit towards their bonus release than a player who only contributed $0.25, players who fold without putting even the blinds share no credit at all as they didn’t contribute to the rake.

The big advantage of the Weighted Contributed Rake Method is that players earn bonuses faster at Americas Cardroom. That’s because when a customer plays more hands and contribute more to each pot, he’ll earn more points.

We use the Weighted Contributed Rake Method to calculate the release of bonuses.

-Dealt Rake Calculation

With the Dealt Rake Calculation, every player dealt into the hand gets equal credit, it makes no difference if they play the hand or not or how much they contributed. So, if you received cards and you fold before the flop, you’ll still earn the same number of points as players who played it until the river, even if you didn’t contribute to the pot.

We don’t use the Dealt Rake Method at Americas Cardroom to calculate points.

-Contributed Rake Calculation

In this calculation, players earn an equal number of credit regardless of how much they contributed to the pot. But players who fold without posting a blind aren’t eligible to earn credits.

We don’t use the Contributed Rake Method at Americas Cardroom to calculate points.

You can check it here

This is the Rakeback formula: {(Ring Rake + Tournament Fees) - (Bonus earned Out)*27%}

ACR Rep - Thank you for the reply and for clarifying the "deposit fee" issue, and also for explaining "rakeback". I am going to sign up to play at your site.

Just as an aside, last night on BOL I went all-in for ~100BB after flopping top set on a rainbow board. I got called and lost to a flush! I'm NOT implying anything here - It just left one final bad taste in mouth concerning BOL!

See ya all on ACR....

Thank you for banning R.M. from the chat. Some of his comments were irrational and rude. I was going to comment on the last one I read on this thread but now I won't have to.

I see that the ACR rep indicated that some banks charge foreign exchange fees in reply to the person who was dinged 6.5% by a Chinese bank that ACR uses. That is not a reasonable rate of exchange fee when most banks charge 2.5% as does PS when they make the exchange at their site for the players. My visa does not charge that much; so, something is wrong with deposit rates and fees at ACR.

Anyways, thanks again for being pro-active and dealing with people who were making unacceptable posts and comments. I appreciate it!

Lizzie:

I have been playing online poker for at least ten years and I have never paid a "vig" when making a deposit. As I am in canada, some sites will charge the going exchange rate plus a 2.5% fee. If it is exchanged before it is deposited to the poker site, it will be the exchange rate + 5% and VISA would charge me a $5 flat fee, regardless of the amount.

When making deposits to poker sites, I prefer a direct bank transaction from my bank to the site. The cost is 0 although it may get exchanged to US funds for a reasonable rate (not 6.5%). The amounts that you indicate that you were charged would be unacceptable to me after all my years of playing online poker and dealing with about ten different poker sites.

Old Islander,

Since BOL charges the 6.5% THEMSELVES, any bank fees just add to the percentage. So, that's why I decided to move over to ACR. However, since I am in the US, the UIGA (Unlawful Internet Gaming Act) makes deposits to gambling sites illegal for the banks. That is why sites servicing US player must use third parties to get deposits into their sites. Ironically, internet gambling is legal in most states. It's like marijuana - while it's becoming legal in more and more states, it remains illegal by federal law...

ACR Rep - While reading a few reviews of ACR (on a different forum), I couldn't help but notice that ACR does not accept player from many states, including Nevada, where I reside. Is this true?? If so, please advise me and save me the trouble of trying to sign up! Thanks again...

What is BOL? As a senior, I am not all that familiar with some modern acronyms. I can handle lol and I figured out wtf during a poker tournament, when I won a hand that I did not deserve to win and the gent with the best starting hand typed out wtf. I figured out that one quickly.

BOL is "BetOnline", a popular site for US players. They are primarily a Sports Book, but also have a poker room. In addition to all the problems mentioned above, their agents don't understand poker, and thus the poker support is terrible. They have good software, but, as poker players, we know our probabilities well, and when we figure in all their fees and 'vigs', we realize (or we should), that it is not profitable (in the long run) for experienced poker players to play there. It is enough for us to just overcome the rake to be a long term winner.

I apologize for the late reply, recently we had an update. Could you please be so kind and let me know if the lag still happening? We do not have familiar cases regarding lagging at the moment. If you still have it let me know so I can check this with the IT department.

I uninstalled and reinstalled both ACR and BCP and the problem still persists.

If the techs can see my history they will see how long it takes for me to act even though I act as soon as I possibly can, sometimes I'm sat out for 2-3 hands and the way to fix that is to leave the table and rejoin until it happens again.

:dontknow:

Let's do the following, please send us an email to support@americascardroom.eu so we can create a ticket for the Tech Department and they can check this issue. On the email please specify that you already tried all the basic steps and still is not working, of course, explain with details the issue that you are experiencing. Once you sent it, let me know.

I think I have sorted my issues out, the problem I had with my normal laptop has been fixed and ACR seems to be working fine so far, I have only played 1 sitngo game and it worked fine, it seems that my backup laptop has a problem with a slow network card.

Thanks for your responses, I will contact again if the trouble returns.

Hi! Yes, we have Eopayz as a deposit/withdrawal option. But it depends on your location so in this case, I recommend you to download our poker client, which is free and check if you have the option available.
