Unlikely. Let's not overreact when nothing has really happened yet.

+1. If you actually read the article it is believed that his threat has had very little impact on the deal. It is unclear at this point if the asshat can even legally do what he is threatening to do.

Pretty ballsy to try to put a legal claim to dividends that were in reality players money. I think this even out does Lederer.

@ jaymfc: In your sig you say you want proof that they did something wrong. I'd say this qualifies.

Ferguson looks like a total PoS here. I'd change my look if I were jaymfc. I'd hate to take a beating meant for that scumbag.
was thinking maybe some blonde dye and feather earrings and a few other things and go for "dog the bounty hunter " . or maybe " captain jack sparrow " :)

yes it does sound quite convincing , even if as I suspect , his laywer is in control of most of that , there is no way Ferguson is guilt free .
I would hope if this is all true that criminal charges of some kind would be filed also . I still do not understand why he would give them the money for expenses then demand it back , esp with the amounts he allegedly already received .
that is beyond greedy and criminal considering the amount he knew was owed to players .

Tapie-full tilt poker Deal Hits Pay Dirt
January 26, 2012 - 4:11pm

Latest from Poker Player Newspaper, I belong in the doubters camp, there is something fishy about this deal by Tapei, I've kissed any money good-bye.

by Wendeen H. Eolis
No formal confirmations of additional investors yet, but the noise is ever louder today; Group Bernard Tapie has lined up at least one moneyman "ready to punt." According to several generally informed sources familiar with weeks of efforts to raise more funds, GBT has locked up a commitment with at least one and maybe two substantial participants to nail the acquisition of the Full Tilt brand. Additional funding might not be crucial, but for Tapie's reluctance to put in more capital of his own than suits his taste.
A lawyer close to one purported investor says, "The deal should get done." He estimates the time table for a re-launch of the FTP site as before the end of the first quarter." Another lawyer, with strong ties in the current Full Tilt brouhaha says; "The die is cast; Full Tilt is effectively out of control; the deal is now unstoppable unless Tapie fails to deliver the necessary checks to the Court."
Still there are plenty of Doubting Thomases who say the proverbial fat lady will not ever sing as part of a harmonized Tapie-Full Tilt DOJ chorus. The cynics point to the fact that no additional investors have yet been identified, publicly. And they remind us, as if we didn't know--the process by which American based customers will have to seek compensation is yet to be resolved.
We do know through one source with direct knowledge that "At the end of the day, reimbursement of player funds is an issue for the Department of Justice in Washington, not the US Attorney in New York."
"The Government does care about players who have been victimized by Full Tilt's insolvency, says one very well connected former federal prosecutor. He adds, "To the extent they are owed monies and there are monies that can be made available for reimbursing them, I fully expect the DOJ to do the right thing, here "
Unless there is a deal, Full Tilt customers could be completely out of luck. With a deal, the smart money is betting large that the Justice Department is prepared to pay out proven claims, at least up to the 80 million dollars it receives from the "sale" of Full Tilt."

I'd much rather have one that says something like $100 instead.

Had about $750 worth of FT points too. (~200K).

This thread is depressing.

Dear Chris Ferguson,

I refer you to the back of the ****ing line behind every other FT player in the world. And if they run out of money before they get to you, tough shit. Guess you're going to have to go back to playing poker for a living. Life is so unfair, huh?

Subject: Poker, who has provided many of the details regarding the GBT/FTP deal, reports that Ferguson is allegedly holding up any further movement over the deal because of money that he put towards the site following “Black Friday.” According to S:p, the former World Champion accepted just under $60 million from Full Tilt since 2007, which he put into different bank accounts under the Pocket Kings, Ltd., umbrella. Although he withdrew and spent about $45 million of that money, what Ferguson is looking for is allegedly the remainder, $14.3 million, after a rather ill-advised move.

According to the S:p report, Ferguson allowed that $14.3 million to go back into the Full Tilt accounts to take care of expenditures by the company post-Black Friday. While allowing this money to go back to FTP, Ferguson allegedly felt that this “good will” gesture would put him at the front of the line as a potential owner under the revamped Full Tilt Poker.

Not sure what your point is here. Are you saying that because he put some of the money back that was taken from players that he somehow deserves a pat on the back? None of those "expenditures" went to player withdrawals as far as I know and any dividends paid to the owners, Ferguson included, were paid at least in part by player funds which they neglected to keep segregated.
