You didn't read the thread I referred you to (the guy didn't not get 'lucky'... actually he might've been unlucky... but I'm sure it actually balanced itself out somewhat... considering he had played a sample size of ~ 4,000 tournaments.
I am talking about a player who has an ROI of ~20 to 25%, over a sample size of over 50,000 tournaments played. The example I gave to you was one that was VERY EASY to follow (if you just went & read the thread.... but you likely won't because you seem to want to choose your belief over actual facts).
This is not the only player doing this... there are many!

personally its been 2 month since i got back to online poker after about 8 years
1st month i lost about 200 dollars this one i already cashed 320 profit
and i did a lot of study getting back into the game
but let me tell u what i m sure of
it is hell harder than it used to be in the old days
players are much tougher squeezing and bluffing
the formats on poker sites are specifically designed to drain ur bankroll
i mean take the zoom for example ur always facing coolers
or the spin and gos now that a nice bait for players
but what bothers me the most and THAT IS WHY I AM THINKING OF STOPPING IS THE PERCENTAGE U 4 BET TO BE CALLED BY A MARGINAL HAND THAT HITS A MONSTER
and sincerly this wasnt the case when i used to play back in 2009-2012
i dont know if this is always a coincidence i dont know if these are bots or a site generated action hands but i really sense something fishy about this matter cause it really defies logic

Stay away from on-line poker. The glory days of making money with on-line poker died over a decade ago. On-line poker is proliferated by cheaters, scammers, colluders, artificial bots, and little to no incentive to deposit money.

Stick to live games. At least with live games you aren't going to be a victim of foul play by rigged RNGs and players who are colluding and/or using VPNs to multi-account and cheat you out of your money.

If no one deposits any money anymore, then where are the guaranteed million prizepools coming from ? I don't think pokerstars is printing the money in their basement....

And it is impossible to use VPNs to cheat with multiple accounts.... OK... It is possible, but it doesn't make any sense at all.... Because when you want to withdraw you have to send in ID-Scan for all the locations.... Do You own multiple passports??? Do you have bank accounts in several countries ???

If you win more than you lose you are a winning player, despite the fact you
lost some buy-ins in bad sessions.
If you lose more than you win then you are a losing player, no matter how often you have won the sunday million...

A few years back I knew of a guy locally who was using a few friends IDs plus CCs to set up multiple accounts that would sit with each other every now and then, so they could steal from people in cash games. He would then give a small percentage to the friends for using their identities.. A lot of shady crap happens in online poker unfortunately. I suppose it gets harder to detect with VPNs and having friends around the world who will let you use their info.

I think online poker like sports betting. If you really know what are you doing luck decides everything. Have bankroll and play for fun is real good thing. Even if you win cash from online poker to buy some beer or other thing, it's cool.

IMO you have to play mid to high stakes poker and cash consistently. All the streamers play mid and high stakes that are profitable and there streaming subsidizes there income making it possible to do for a living. Plus the ones that are sponsored get so much tourney tickets comped and they sell there action too. People do lots of things to be able to play for a living. Its not as clear cut as playing freerolls until you build a bankroll and then never losing your bankroll until you make enough to live comfortably off of.You need to make a couple of big scores so you can invest the money and then bankroll yourself or live off the interest on the money invested for it to be profitable. Like Dnegs 2nd place finish in the one drop for 10 million. He can invest that money and easily get 100,000 in interest, or dividends every couple of months At low and micro stakes you can play for hours and only min cash which doesnt work out to minimum wage or not much better. And when you do get that 8 -12 hour tourney win you only win like 500-1000. Cant really retire with that. And you cant rely on winning every low to microstakes tourney you play. Even these guys that do bankroll challenges they run 80 into 8000 or whatever starting with microstakes it takes them months to do so. Can you live off 8000 over months.

variance is also higher in low and microstakes which results in a tougher time cashing or winning low stakes poker because your run into more hands that get lucky from people who dont know how to play or dont care about the money and are just gambling. Thats why you see more three and four way all ins preflop and and after flop because people chase alot more in lowstakes. The problem is they hit there hand sometimes and it only takes one hand to cripple you or knock you out of a tourney. I said this in another post but you can play loose and lots of hands and get knocked out or you can play tight and fewer hands and get knocked out just as easily. And there is alot more all ins at lower stakes poker people going all in with a draw or middle pair and then hitting a set on the river or something stupid making it hard to maneuver your way to first place. Even if you were dealt aces every hand in low stakes your gonna get enough people all ining all the time with smaller pocket pairs or suited connectors and forcing you to go all in with the best of it and making a better hand by the river. Too many people just dont have any respect for there buyins at low stakes and play accordingly.

You obviously can make money as many people have made tons. You will need to have patience and good bankroll management. I have only started playing like a month ago and havent deposited anything and have made 15$ so far so not horrible.

Of course, you can earn money online. But it's not easy. You need to constantly learn. There are many great and great examples of earning money online. (BlackRain for example).
