Absolutely not. online poker is on the climb. I'm not sure it will ever return to pre Black Friday levels, but it certainly is not dead.
Of course. Frankly, I am utterly amazed how many people on a poker forum are saying no, or only if you get lucky.
I suspect the reason for this is that they are losing players and rather than focus on their game and improve their ability, they would rather point at winning players and just say that they are lucky.
Making a living from poker is hard. It's not just about registering half a dozen tournaments every few days and binking one or two a session. It involves long days (and nights) of playing four or five days a week, plus hours of studying on top of that in order to stay ahead of the competition. A lot of people look at poker as a get rich quick scheme, when in actual fact it is the complete opposite in most cases.
Depends on where you play, but definitely avoid unlicensed, unregulated sites. In the UK, PokerStars, GG, PartyPoker, 888 and iPoker network are all great options.

Poker can generate income. The size of this income will depend on many factors, on your skills and experience, on your discipline, perseverance and willingness to work. I personally earn income from poker, and currently my income averages $150 per month. My favorite site is 888, I always get the best results on this site.

Very, very difficult. I played small stakes cash, played very tight and rarely had a profitable session. Don’t think it really matters how good a player you are, the luck will invariably not be with you on enough consecutive flips to allow you to make a decent profit.

If you can copy paste the other players' gameplay , their cheating methods and scam manipulation of RNG , if you use solvers and programmes (carefully not to be caught) , if you deposit enough for the poker room and their algorithm to "respect you" as a good player for their poker ecosystem, then maybe you have a chance one day online to be a winner

I still think that online poker is alive! I also support fair play at the tables. What poker rooms can I recommend? In my opinion, the best poker rooms right now are GGPoker and PokerStars.

Do you understand that there are many hard-working poker players who actually earn a living from playing online poker? And many others who are consistently winning money? (I am one of the ones who are consistenly winning money, although it is a very small amount and nowhere near what I'd need to financially support myself).
I have friends who earn $100,000 - to - $200,000+ each year for the past 10years! They are honest, hard-working guys (NEVER cheating ever!!!!)
If you wanted to, you could witness some winning players yourself as they'll even show you how they play (on Twitch) with their holecards revealed. (not all twitch players are winning poker players, but many of them definitely are).
Do some research and discover some facts.
And yes there are some cheaters online these days (probably more than ever.. but I'm not sure about this).
'Scam manipulation of RNG' <-- this is something in your imagination. Spending time allowing thoughts like this to be in your head will completely destroy your poker game.
It has nothing to do with how much money you deposit. I've deposited THOUSANDS and lost regularly. I've gone months without depositing and won regularly.

It is definitely much MUCH harder than it was back then... but it is not impossible. I'd be happy to wager that I could earn $500/mth playing micro stakes.

Only 10-15% of players make money in online poker, you just have to be in that number.

Not sure why we are necroing this thread so much. This is a freeroll site so just by default you can make money playing them in online poker. But OP was asking a completely different question in whether someone can make a living in online poker.
It's highly unlikely. It's not enough that some old guy has some friends that make 6 figures consistently. That's called survivorship bias. It's not enough to bink a tournament once in a while. That's not going to make a living.
Can we just agree that this game is hard and that the ones that mostly make a living on it are the site operators? Especially the ones that enjoy their megayachts and exotic vacations.

That kind of depends on which tournaments you choose, your general ability and most importantly whether or not the poker gods are on your side.
Seriously, online poker is like most competitive skills. You learn it, you practise it, you choose your moments, and hopefully all your hard work pays off.
How many people win gold at the Olympics? How many fantastic athletes don't even place? All you can do is give it your best.
