I'm starting now on real money game and I'm trying building my bankroll following this plan:
1) If I have $10:
• Play Sit & GO $0,25 (90, 45 players)
2) If I have $25:
• Play SNG $0,50 (45, 90, 180, 360 players)
3) Have $50:
• Play Sit & GO $1
4) Have $150:
• Play Sit & GO $3,50, 45p.
5) Have $250:
• Play Sit & GO $4,50, 180p (Good to up the bank).
6) Have $1K:
• SNG $4,50 and MTTS $1, $2 e $3.

Send your opinion about this!

It is very hard to increase a baby bankroll. Most of the time you lose everything. I think, patience and perseverence are the conditions and maybe one day....

Play in smaller field SnGs to reduce variance, and don't move up in stakes that quickly IMO.

I hope you get your plan but the reality is not as easy as you think. It wil take you more time.

Very useful post. There is much to learn. I was recently in the game and I want to earn it. Your advice is very helpful. Thank you.

I like to play a quick game. Can they take your bankroll. Your advice?

I have learned the hard way the very important thing of proper bankroll management. Its not that I play bad, its that I used to have terrible bankroll management. AS soon as I got some money, I took higher stakes. Only when I got disciplined abotu the stakes I play I realized how good I actually am and that yes - there is a potential in me to become a true professional. I used to think that playing skill matters the most and bankroll is just a secondary thing. But no - BRM is extremly important!

My trajectory

On ACR. I started with $0. Freerolled my way to $19. Honestly it was one big bink for $19. Workes that up to $70. Carefully managing my Br. Playing mainly $1.50 SNGs. Sadly, went on a bad run. Went down to $40. Then even worse discovered Jackpot poker. Which is pretty much just gambling. Busted it all in a tilted state. Now slowly working my way back up. Im up to $4.

What i realized is; I became complacent when i reached $70. I felt accomplished and safe. And started gambling in spots that were -ev.

Strange to say, but now i have tiny goals. Reach $5. And so when i win .20 cents. It feels great. It's all about where you are in terms of bank roll and your attitude. Much like life. Now im just focusing on cashing the freerools as much as possible. Get to $5. Then $10.

Not sure what you mean here - turbo tournaments? Rush?

If you're comfortable playing them and feel they're your best games then there's nothing wrong with them IMO - it's all about just sticking to your best games, playing the best you can, and always always always following strict BRM.

I build by bankroll almost exclusively playing single-table turbo SNGs for what it's worth.

LOL nope, I'm around :) Hope the swings have been good to you mate!

I get very little chance to play poker these days unfortunately, live or online, so I haven't been active in the strategy or hand analysis forums. I've found sports betting fits my schedule a lot better these days so that's how I've been getting my gamble on ;)

Great Post. I just started my own bankroll challenge on ACR. My goal is take 10.00 dollars and run it up to 10,000. dollars. The difficulty comes from deciding what to play but I'm going to focus on a few freerolls that pay well (poker.org, jackpot freeroll, THR on Friday night); I'm going to avoid most of the freerolls that pay $25.00 or less, I'm going to start playing the .11 cent MTT at 6:15p.m. and play some .01/.02 cash games until I build my bankroll up to 30.00 dollars. Then I'm going to jump in the .55 cent MTT's and build my bankroll up from there.

As mentioned in the original post, I'd ditch the MTTs until you're much better rolled. That's just me though, by all means roll the dice on variance if you don't mind risking going busto.

My look at building a payroll

Most people don't have patience these days. I'm sorry but if you want to build a bank roll then you most definitely need patience most of all. With a minimum deposit of say $20 it is possible to slowly build a bankroll. But you cant play at the cash table for more that 2 or 5 cents because you'll end up losing as much as you win and spin your wheels or slowly lose your whole deposit in a short time. I think the safest way to build a bankroll, yet it is a very slow process, is to deposit $20 and then only play Freerolls. Using your existing bank roll only for Rebuys. The problem is the long time that it takes to finish a Freeroll yet after a lot of experience you'll be surprise how you can accumulate a couple dollars a week playing in maybe 5 or 6 freerolls a week. At least that way you should be able to always keep adding to your bank roll and not have to deposit again. Patience is the key. One day you'll look at your bank roll and say hey I can afford to buy into a few 1 to 5 dollar tourneys and who knows you may get lucky until you get to that ultimate WITHDRAWL day!

This is exactly situacion, because i had no money in the pokerstars, so i have to play the freeroll. I won money in few tournaments, and, like you said, we need help to win. I'll try to use your advices when i win again.

recently there have been a few decent freerolls on ACR and BCP lately. ( Not like prior to black Friday obv ) However it is nice to have a nice whiff of something like what it used to be prize money or satelites at the least :)
