thats what bw told me on AIM so maybe he has spoken to them on AIM

I have them both on my friends list, neither has been on that I know of (Mind you, I've only been on since about 6, obv way after this has happened.

But I think announcing new names should be left to they who are leaving.

OK, it`s a reasonable concern. I`m just asking people not to get too excited.

I have met Olivier (BelgoSuisse) in real life, and consider him a good chap, but if he wants to go, he can do that as far as I am concerned. This community is bigger than any individual.

Very true.

No one wants people to leave.. but if they have made up their minds.. no one can stop them.

This isn't one individual we're talking about...

It really makes no difference.

His knowledge is in his head and it is of no benefit to you unless it is in your head.

This is true and I probally spend too much time here just lurking daily but a big part off the forums personality and knowledge has gone and thats a bad thing. Of couse this forum will continue but it will have also lost something for some people.

Personally I know ill be coming here daily still but will miss some off the daily imput of people who have left.

Zach got banned because he shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

And how, pray tell, will we get the knowledge from his head to ours if he cannot/will not post?

but from the stuff he posts I can learn, the shortstacking thread I learnt how they calculate profitable equity shoves. I have learnt alot from belgo.

Their knowledge maybe in their heads but when they post in the strategy forum or help me out with coaching or hand analysis then they pass on their knowledge to me so I have become a better player.

how much can you learn off freeroll whores compared to a mid stakes reg?

Ever read a HA thread? Ever read a strategy thread?
You really think some one like Zach that post in HA,strategy threads and has a massive knowledge of poker is the same worth to this forum as your standard FRW?

I'll still be around for sure, I know the forum will survive without everyone leaving.

At the same time, I'm sure I'll see many of you on 2p2 strategy threads...

If zach has gone, then he has gone.

If others have decided to leave in protest, then they have gone too.

It is a shame, but the world will keep turning.

In a year from now, there will be new zachs.

I'm saddened that all this has happened, but I'm being realistic too.

Its not just knowledge to me I enjoyed reading posts like Vanq owning people but you know he is just a guy with much love having fun, or switches crazy swings and upbeat attitude as the verience hits, but I guess I wish them all luck. Cards Chat will still be here tomorrow and for that I am glad but people are upset that some people are offski and its easy to see why.

I've read pretty much every post on this site and owe it a lot. I'm a 4-5BB/100 winner and considered cardschat home. Apparently this Is our farewell. Gl in the freeroll

I really would be sad to see anyone leave based on what happened today. Clearly if that is the case then you don't have faith in my ability to run Cardschat, or the moderators' ability to moderate the forum. We were left with very little choice. I like Zach so in no way did anyone want this to happen.

Well all of these defections are seriously going to injure the CardsChat Shooting Stars tourney. :D

All of the drama reminds me of when I was in an online video game club...back when I was 15...which was in 1992.

Nick, this is a great site and you and the mods obviously do a great job. This site has turned me into a competent player (beating micro, breaking even at small stakes), and I do not intend to leave. I'm actually a stox member - but I spend 10x as much time here as I do at stox.

For those of us a little more out on the fringes, who are not loyalers and don't know people personally - the quality of posts in ring game HA and strategy will definitely suffer from the absence of these guys (I'm sure you and the mods already realize this). The list of guys who you want to read just because they posted, or who you really want to have comment on your 25NL+ HA's because you know they'll get your head straight, is not huge, maybe 20 guys. Quite a few of those "must read" guys have indicated they're leaving over whatever happened. Many of these guys have been extremely active over the last few months as well, meaning that there has been something worth reading every day.

Of course, there are several "must read" guys who have not said anything, and I hope these "gg" posts stop soon. However, I'm hoping there is something you can do to put some context around what's going on to reassure people that this wasn't some unreasonable action as some of the posts have implied.

I'm being purely selfish here - while I try to give back to the community by commenting in HA where I feel I have something to contribute, I come back here over and over again because of the players who understand theory and practice so much better than I do.

But I do think you run a great site here and hope you recognize that people wouldn't be upset if they didn't think it was a great site.

Let`s be calm, shall we ? Nobody`s pants are on fire.

Before Zach or any of the people threatening to leave ever got here, the core of this forum was a group of 6-10 competent players (Liam, Chris, Taylor, Rex, that Toasty chap :p , one or two others). None of us has any thought of going anywhere, as far as I know. CC will be just fine.

I have not been here as long as you by any means... but this is obviously the truth.

I have to keep my emotions in check.

When I see people on the forum acting like children taking their toys away as they leave the sandbox a small part of me hopes they actually mean what they say. Good riddance. Then again that is almost as childish as their response.

The group of players upset by recent events and threatening to leave has some good players in it. But then, there are many good poker players out here in the world, and I imagine the vacuum created at this forum will close up faster than we could think.

The greatness of this forum is not embodied in a few members. And I can name at least 12 members who AFAIK are not leaving whos opinion I would trust on the game as much as those who are leaving. Not to mention it might often be delivered with more maturity. I find it silly that so many place so much faith in so few, frankly.

One reason I like this forum more than 2+2 is the attitude of the members.

I see far less snipey arrogant lemming like foolishness with all the freaking checkboxes and holier than thou bs. Otehr forums are full or overyoung testosteronic dweebs who live to try to shove the inferiority of others down their throats.

IMHO some of the defectors might fit in quite well in other forums.

One last thing. Based on an assumption that I imagine most of us have come to.

***MODS EDIT THIS PART OUT IF NEED BE***
(but I am gonna say what I want to say)
(haha it got edited out)
