i probably snap call, expecting to see a lot of worst aces and some mid-high pocket pairs. ur the big stack, ppl tend to play back a lot more against the big stack

This. Don't hesitate to get it in with AK in a tournament. But honestly wtf was he doing 3-betting all in for over 80 BB?

is there anyone here still actually winning at this stupid game

This thread is worrying me. The streaks you guys seem to be running into are about half the hands I've played in my lifetime.
I can only 4 table and fit a mere 10-15hours in a week, if 100-150K streaks are out there waiting for me I dunno whether i could ever make a living out of the game.

(I've 100K hands lifetime)

AK hand:

1. Why are you opening to 5x?

2. Pretty sure as played it is a fold. In cash obviously a snap but icm-wise especially with top-heavy structure I think that is a fold. Even if you have something like a 65-35 edge against his range I'm not sure. You could run it through an ICM calculator to be sure what your edge needs to be against his range to be +$ev to call but I'm pretty sure that's a fold.

Actually on second thought you need to define top-heavy. Is the final table a lot more? Is basically only 1st worth playing for? If the latter that makes it a snap-call but if it also is the effect of making the final table worth a lot more than where you're currently at and such I think it's just a fold based on the fact that you have a huge chip advantage and a double up really wouldn't double your expectation (again unless first is huge compared to other spots) while a loss would cripple you basically and make it very very tough to finish deep.

Is it supposed to be? Last time I checked, I do this for shits & giggles. The fact that I earn a few bucks on the side is cool. But its just a hobby for me, not a 401K plan. If it ever becomes un-fun, I'll be making a BW-esque post and quitting.

Please don't pretend like you're some sort of micro grinder. I make a few bucks, you make a bit more than that. Don't ever try to rep the micro hood again, ya heard?

Sorry, I posted it fast bc i was still playing and forgot to mention that UTG was a fish that limped. My definition of top heavy: anything less than top 3-4 wouldn't be worth my time. First paid $135 2nd $98 3rd $72 and 4th $50ish i believe. I think with stack sizes a loss still would have put me above avg though, that's why I was wondering

He's obviously an idiot to fold AK there. Making me wish every site had the fold/show option.

Well, just made my first deposit. $25 into Full Tilt, and 100% first deposit bonus.

Time to grind the micro limits.

Lots of dudes struggling this year it seems, me included. I still keep plugging away, in the hope I show some improvement/run goot etc. I have been extremely frustrated at times this year, but I haven't let it really affect me o/s of playing poker. If I felt it impacted upon my family life then I would seriously consider re-evaluating how much time and effort I put into this game I think.

So in other words, Good luck BW whatever you decide to do m8.

R.I.P. BW07507.

Note: Brian (the man behind the SN) is alive, just don't want to alarm anyone, but wanted to make a statement regarding one of CC's best players.

Alright, I was slightly drunk and extremely pissed off last night, but the post I made is true for the most part. I did withdraw everything except $500 from pokerstars and I will not be playing 100NL for awhile.

I basically have 0 discipline and my tilt/rage has gotten totally out of control the last couple months. Its gotten to the point where its started to affect my life outside of poker (my gf almost broke up with me in florida b/c i went crazy pretty much every day) and the last few days have really made me think about why I play anymore. Before, I enjoyed, and looked forward to playing every day. Now, I absolutely dread it. I finally asked myself why I am still playing and I couldnt think of 1 good answer.

So, for now, Im taking a break from poker. I may come back and try to grind back up from 25NL and get some sort of mental coaching at some point. I feel like this is the only way for me to regain any of the discipline that I used to have.

I can't lie, poker has been extremely good to me and I've made way more than I could have ever dreamed over the last year or so, but its worn me out. This will sound cliche, but sometimes you gotta know when to hold'em and when to fold'em. Its time for me to fold'em

Thanks to everyone here who has helped me improve my game so much (Chuck, Zach, and Vanq are the 3 that come to mind, but there are many others too). I especially owe a lot of my success to you guys. GL to everyone still playing and I will of course still be around and posting here.
