$30 seems good enough to me
Yes there is variance but thats £20/hr over here. Four times what I could make if I took my job hangin up clothes back.

If I can achieve that just playing $50NL I'd be a very happy bunny

Concentrating that much for 40 hours/week is like the equivalent of working 500 hours/week at your normal job unless you have an out of the ordinary job that involves you being at 100% using all your mental capacity all the time. Oh and your job probably has benefits and you get time off for holidays, PTO, and can probably go a day without being 100% at work without getting fired as long as it's not the norm. None of that is true for poker.

If you've got a $30/hr job, I'd be with you, zach. But the average person using poker to supplement their main income probably makes around half that. So 20 hours a week of $30/hr poker, or 40 hours a week at a $15/hr job? I'd take poker any day.

And for someone like me, with no real qualifications, and no way to get a job that even pays $10/hr, I'd gladly play poker as a main income.

Working at poker though would take way more concentration/mental toughness then a regular job would. Also, when you arent playing your A game at poker youre probably going to lose money, whereas if youre not doing A work at your $15/hr job youre still going to make the same regardless.

You probably get health insurance as well. You probably get other benefits with the job. That adds onto it. You probably don't work 40 hours/week all 52 weeks of the year so that adds onto it. Also unless you're doing constant manual labor 8 hours of work in a day is probably more like 5 and even those 5 you're probably not working as hard as you are when playing poker full-time. Also there's the whole variance thing and it being able to drive you insane. And trust me 3 hours/day is a lot more than you think playing poker (assuming 7 days/week too since you're saying it's 20 hours/week). Obviously it's doable but trust me after playing that much you would realize it is more than you think.

Who da man?

I da man.

The only one I didn't win I lost with AK vs. KK AIPF on the very 1st hand. So far after 6 of these matrix thingies I have an ROI of 81.3%. :D

Told you so. Now if only more people played them at $1+25, or even $2+25. The latter is almost 10% of my BR, but the variance is a lot lower, so it works out okay.

EDIT: Unfortunately, PT3 hates them. It tracks hand stats just fine, but it can't figure out why four seperate SnGs are treated as one. Oh well.

EDIT2: Anyone able to tell me what HA is?

Like the other people ITT who make more than $30/hour when playing poker, i fully agree that playing poker full time for $30/h would be a very very hard way to make an easy living.

so, I don't really have reasoning for this, but I need 385 more vpp for silverstar. How many hands do you think it would take to get that playing 50NL fr or 6 max and basically folding everything but AA/KK?

Not even worth it, silverstar is worthless really.

-Position becomes even more important.
-3-bet more.
-4-bet more.
-Semi-bluff more with draws to the nuts.
-Don't stack off with 1 pair when your opponent is cramming money in.
-Stop getting all in preflop with AK & JJ (6-max). Have a good reason for getting in QQ.

Thanks c9, this helped me focus and plan my hands much better today.

the 2.25 isnt 10% of ur br, ur playing 4 games at 1 time with a side bet, so look at it as each table only reps 2.5%
