Hi Jeff, I'm fairly new to poker and im just wondering when i should be moving up in the stakes. Like how many buy-ins should I have before I be moving up to higher and higher MTTs, SNG, cash games, spin and gos.

Online poker

Hi jeff,

Is there an online site that let's participants have a closed game (with only its own invitees) AND create and play its own customized games?

My guys and I would rather play some of our high/low games, wild card games, etc., rather than the options of most online poker sites.

thanks,

jeff

Jeff, as someone who's never played in a live tournament, much less cashed in a live tournament, I'm curious about what happens when you do leave a tournament that you've cashed in, specifically how you get paid. Do they pay you by check, bank transfer, cash, paypal? How does it work? Thank you.

there are HUD's (Heads Up Display's) which can provide statistics on tendancies (partypoker has recently done away w/ that which I love so it's even for all players). Also you can make notes on players that you run into frequently. Other then that it's paying attention to show downs, watching hands and seeing what hands they show up with and make adjustments accordingly.

It depends on the amount but it's up to you in terms of cash/chips or a wire typically! I haven't heard of paypal as an option but lot of new options coming. I know on partypoker Luxon is used now as a main option which I use and really like (not for USA at the moment).

Hi Jeff

I would just like to ask, what's the best way to handle LAG or Loose-Aggressive Poker players? It can get so frustrating playing against them and they always win 9/10 of the times.

online

I prefer live poker but have logged a lot of hours online. I have been playing NL 50 on Bovado.I am breaking even. I see so many cooler type hands. Hero Q10 Villian QQ. Flop Q1010. Just not sure I trust the site. I guess my question is are the algorithms geared toward action or are they totally random. I have been playing for 50 years. I am comfortable with variance.

Do you ever not call an all in holding pocket ACES pre-flop. Is it ever good poker.

wann2play

Hi Jeff,

So the winner of the pokerstars wcoop $5k main event 2018 (wann2play) was denied his title and money after investigations from pokerstars. Do you know which pro was behind this account (picture of wann2play looked a bit like luuk or joris), and is this account and his (or her) original account banned?

Kind regards Busto,

Good day Jeff.
In a micro MTT how would you play pocket jacks if in UTG and UTG+1 ?
I usually raise to 4 blinds and wait for the flop before going bigger or not.

Which stakes should I be playing (online cash game)?

Hi Jeff,

I have a non strategy-related question:

Which stakes should I be playing (online cash game)?

CONTEXT:
I was very lucky professionally. I am now retired at 40 and financially set for life. One of my dreams has always been to play poker full-time but I never had the time before (i.e. very busy professionally).
Now I do and my starting bankroll is potentially high.

However, I am objective enough to know that I do not master the ins and outs of poker quite yet. I am not a fish, but I am still learning and struggling with tilt and winner tilt.

Should I try to "beat" every single stake, starting with 0.01/0.02 and make my way up? Or would you recommend I start at higher stakes directly, like $1/$2 or $2/$5?

Part of me wants to prove that I am progressing by beating the small stakes and climbing up.
But another part of me is feeling that (at 40 y old) I am wasting my time and, if I want to play poker seriously, I should already start higher.
The micro-stakes players are so different from the higher-stakes player that I feel everything one learns in the micro should be thrown in the trash when moving up. Why waste the time with Micro ??? I would have to "re-learn" as I go up anyways...

What do you recommend?
