Would you give me your opinion please?

Hello, I annoy you to give me your opinion on a hand that I played a few days ago live and I remain in my head until today including: -I'm on bb J-9 clover with a 170bb stack -utg + 2 reise 5x -cut call the rest of the table is folded (it's full rin ring) - I call -flop Q-8-10 rainbow -I check -utg + 2 check -cut check turn 10 d -i bet 3/4 pot -utg + 2 reise 2x -cut fold -i call -river J -I check -utg + 2 goes all in (110 bb approx) I thought a little no more and fold, we had some dynamics in which he was punishing me in the last hands with several coolers, I really do not think I played it well, but I still do not finish realizing my mistakes in that hand, I played more With the track record that I had with the player and the fear that he would win me again that by analyzing well the development of the hand in question, I would be very grateful if you could give me your opinion, I apologize for my bad English! From already thank you very much:confused:

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the forum to ask a pro a question. It seems to me that the variance I experience playing online is ahhhhhh ummmmm errrrrr well, I guess the only word I can use is questionable compared to when I play live in my local poker room. Of course, there are plenty of spots where one may damn his current luck in playing both mediums. However, it does seem that there are a lot more ridiculous calls online playing the same stakes as when playing live. Do you have any insights on this subject? An inquiring mind wants to know!
Thanks

Tell us how you came to poker. Have you encountered a negative attitude towards this game from your relatives and how did you deal with it?

Rebuys

We play a friendly game of poker with 10 players regularly. First hour is limit cash holdem and the second is no limt tournament. Rebuys are allowed in the limit game and 1 rebuy allowed in the tournament, but only up to the first 10 hands. The buyin is the same $ and chips amount as at start of the tournament. There are disagreements regarding buyins in the tournament game. Should we permit 1 rebuy in the tournament game? What are the pros and cons for having 1 rebuy in a tournament game?

Hey Jeff. I have a big problem with flush draws. I can't ever seem to fold a flush draw and as a result it cost me alot of chips. What are ur flush draw rules and what would you recommend?

It really comes down to pot odds & implied odds. You want to make sure you are not paying too much for a draw & more importantly a strong/nut flush draw is what really should be looking for. If you clean up your ranges pre flop this will help a lot also. Implied odds mean that if you make your flush you want to make sure you have a good chance to get paid on it as well! I hope that helps!

I think it is good in a tournament to allow one re buy. I would set a time limit on this however. The pro's are it adds $ to the prize pool and also people play more loosely & if someone is out right away they can be back in. The cons are it takes away the authenticity of a freeze out where everyone is on same parameters but this is okay if w// friends and rules are same for everyone. The fact that you do the cash game before though maybe you keep the tournament as an authentic freeze out & the cash game portion ppl can reload chips if they wish during that portion.

I got into poker in high school when a friend brought a plastic chip set to our team high school soccer camp (also around time money maker on espn was going on). My relatives and my family have been very supportive from the start which has been great!

Yes you have to remember online you are seeing WAY more hands way more often and multiple tables often times. This is something to keep in mind!

You know as silly as it sounds I had not considered that and it is VERY true I am likely playing 3x as many hands per hour than I am live. Everything is going to seem to be a higher amount of specific situations due to more HPH, I give you the new abbreviation HPH = Hands Per Hour lol.
Thanks, Jeff

My friends always ask me “how would play xx?” I always ask for more information. Could you make and post a checklist of what information to include when doing hand breakdowns? It would be nice to know a pros point of view on it.

Jeff Have you had situations over a period of time that you think any hand holding, never the best? And if so, how do you deal with these situations

Jeff, I played with the Cardschat team in last year's Colossus. With about 10 players to go before the end of Day 1, knowing that those who make it to Day 2 cash in the tourney, I had 2 hands both of which I folded...AJ suited and AQ offsuit...both hands had a raise before me...Would you fold there in an attempt to ensure a cash, or would you have gone for broke, risking a min cash for a good stack heading into Day 2?
I made it to Day 2, but lasted only an hour, getting $46 more than the min cash.

doubt

Good morning Jeff.
I played a Mtt 6max, $ 1.10, with a fild of 1,852 players and when there were 45 left, I was in 17th position.
I defended the Big Blind with Jc3c with 41bb and the villain at the beginning of the table gave Raise of 2,2bb, with 65bb
flop Jd 3s 8s, I hit 2 pair and check villain bets villain bets half pot, I raise and villain goes All in, I call, turn As and river Qh, villain with JsQd, he went all in losing and turned on the river , I had the information that it's a lot to lose.
Jeff, did I play wrong? Are there too many blinds to call All in with two pair? Should I raise or just call on the flop?
Thank you and gl, gl.

Hey Jeff!
Could you give me a small brief how you play AK generally? I know you could probably write a whole book about the issue but if you could give some few golden tips how to deal with it I would be grateful.
