I think it really depends on how aggro the fish is. if he's aggro then checking to induce can be better but if he's passive and may not bluff missed draws then you should bet to get value from worse Ax and Qx. don't understand why you didn't 3b more pre tho

UTG: $5.59 (93.2 bb) fish
MP: $3 (50 bb)
CO: $7.40 (123.3 bb)
BTN: $7.38 (123 bb) fish

Preflop: Hero is SB with K A
MP posts BB OOP, UTG calls $0.06, MP checks, CO folds, BTN raises to $0.12, Hero raises to $0.28, BB folds, UTG calls $0.22, MP folds, BTN calls $0.16

Flop: ($0.96) Q A 4 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.72, UTG calls $0.72, BTN folds

Turn: ($2.40) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.80, UTG calls $1.80

River: ($6) 2 (2 players)

OK TWO BUSTED FLUSHES HERE SHOULD WE GIVE THE VILLAIN A CHANCE TO BLUFF HERE OR JUST BET FOR VALUE?

Hero checks, UTG bets $2.79 and is all-in, Hero calls $2.79

Results: $11.58 pot ($0.68 rake)
Final Board: Q A 4 5 2
Hero showed K A and won $10.90 ($5.31 net)
UTG showed 6 5 and lost (-$5.59 net)

Id value bet the river as effective stacks arent deep less than 1/2 pot left.

If you was deeper say $10 left prob check and hope they bet busted draw, becasue if you put blocker bet in of $3 youd feel uncomfortable if they shoved $10

His 3bet% might indicate that doesn't have it on every occasion!!. JJ here I would have 4 bet. I don't want to have to play them oop to an aggressive player if I can help it so personally its 28bb top end of my 4 bet range. If he shoves they are probably all in against his stats.

As played you are WA or WB you are either crushed by an overpair or crushing his
medium pairs and air.
As I see it there are two choices; to call him down or raise on the flop. Personally I like to see where I stand with JJ and the flop raise helps. If he has AK AQ most will let it go to a flop CR. By calling you risk letting him hit an overcard but keep in hands you beat, a bit of a double edged sword.
The 7 on the turn is as good as a brick here so I choose to call him down and hope no overs come on the river. if he has aces kings or queens so be it.

The QQ hand isn't that much different to be honest, his AF is so high we are probably ahead preflop so 4 betting for value is an option, I might not here though due to the btn strange little min raise. I probably let it go facing that size turn bet, we only have 1 pair. Calling keeps in his polarised hands and you were unlucky he hit trips, without that you'd have won a decent pot here. Sick squeeze with AJ, don't like the play myself with the btn messing around, thats sometimes premium.
I have played 6 hands tonight and got stacked twice and gave up feeling like i want to quit.

Thansk for comments :)

AS for quitting, you know you can't ;) although when stuff like that happens you think the world is against you.

One thing I have got alot better with over the last year is to quit for the night when everything goes against you.

Every bluff gets picked off, ever value hand gets shoved on, every time you shove with lots of equity they hit the river. No point chasing and losing more and more

as for the JJ hand, I thought if he had over pair then  but shoved anyway and :(

I can't believe he called your turn shove with bottom pair and an over card. Spawn.
Would he have folded to a 4bet, maybe.... but you would then have the initiative and would be firing first on the flop when he probably does fold 3rd pair and if not on the flop then the turn. As played they start to feel committed once betting the turn and end up calling you down with the hope you have AK. I've lost count of the times I wish i had an overpair in these circumstances.

Yeah I spent all evening studying the workbook fired up two tables got stacked on both within 6 hands and just sat straight out again wondering why I bother .
First hand fish calls a 3bet oop with Q3 suited and flops the world.
Second hand I posted in the cash games thread but isn't dissimilar. I might offer a prize if you can guess his hand in that one.

Ive had hand where Ive stacked people and hands where they stacked me and Its like WTF when I see their hand.

Possibly should open a sticky Thread in the Cash Thread called Sherlock where you have to guess Villains Hands

knew it was too good to be true lol.
$30 up in 250 hands than ended up session -$25, Id had a few good hands, ended up having hands below out of 444 hands

Ironically half way through session I was thinking I'm not geting paid with good hands as I tend to 3 bet most and getting too many folds and when I do get called get really bad textured flops. Was wondering whats best way to get paid with them

With only 15 hands and those stats I'm probably check/calling. It's greatly reduced for him to have AK and float you there. So the only other hand really is AQ, or TT. Maybe a stubborn small pair. Some of the guys at this level can't fold. Regardless, as play I'd lean towards a call. It's early but it seems like he's looking like a bad LAG.

It was Seat 1 with 25 hands, although I'm confused. On the replayer it shows the villain with 9 hands.

On the replayer does it show the Stats up to the time the hand was played, and when you Right Click on the hand and select Copy with Stats does it copy all stats you have on the villain including hands played after.

Thanks always struggle when OOP to maximise Value or Pot Control
Stats for villain were
Seat 6: Player6 ( $16.71 USD ) - VPIP: 26, PFR: 21, 3B: 21, AF: 3.0, Hands: 62

Hope HEM made it easier to have option to include stats and also the format to post hands at same time rather than having to do it in 2 separate stages.

It should just show all of the accumulated stats of your opponent. There might be some setting to show stats at the point of the hand, but I don't know how to turn that on if it exists.

With the price you're getting on the river it is. Super strange of that guy to do. He's a gapper, and it just shows at micro stakes how bad the play can get. He doesn't have enough to bluff with, and he can't think he's doing that for value.

you have to call on river but would never put him on a Jack with the raise , Id be worried about the flush with him being passive

FYI, I put up a completely re-formatted version of Vol. I today. I just expanded the font, and made a couple of fixes and updates. Nothing major, but it looks nicer.

Easy call right?

Pacific, $0.10/$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 7 Players
SB: $61.72 (308.6 bb)
BB: $5.50 (27.5 bb)
MP1: $21.01 (105.1 bb)
MP2: $23.22 (116.1 bb)
MP3: $15.58 (77.9 bb)
Hero (CO): $25.05 (125.3 bb)
BTN: $15.73 (78.6 bb) Loose passive 29/18/agg%27 in 360 hands

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9 9
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.60, BTN calls $0.60, SB folds, BB calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.90) J 8 6 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.95, BTN calls $0.95, BB folds

Turn: ($3.80) T (2 players)
Hero bets $2.85, BTN calls $2.85

River: ($9.50) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $4.75, BTN raises to $11.33 and is all-in, Hero calls $6.58

Results: $32.16 pot ($1.60 rake)
Final Board: J 8 6 T 7
Hero showed 9 9 and won $30.56 ($14.83 net)
BTN showed A J and lost (-$15.73 net)

Definitely an easy call. If he had a flush on the turn, pretty sure he wouldn't flat call in position and would probably play back.

I didn't re-do the kindle format. I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to. It's a major major major major pain to format for kindle. :(
