1) KTo, not close. It flops very poorly against any reasonably tight range.

2) I'm going with J9s. With 40bb effective I don't have enough behind to speculate on drawing hands (sets are different -- you bink either otf or not at all so they're far easier to play OOP), and even against a CO range J9 doesn't make for a very strong top pair.

Well, those are all huge, so good for you. The system that I lay out works, and is going to put you into the most profitable situations possible. It sounds like you're applying a lot of the concept correctly. Leading, stop and go, tightening up your cold calling, 3-betting in better spots. Just make sure the majority of your 3-betting is coming from position.

I'm glad to hear though, and keep my updated on your progress. I'm about 27 pages+ into the workbook for the first volume, and that should really cement all the concepts in. It's going to have questions like this with explanations:

QUESTION 1 (Effective stacks of 100 BBs)
An average regular open raises to 3 BBs from MP in a 6-max cash game. Based on your HUD stats, it looks like he's opening 17% of hands from that position. The action folds to you on the button. The rest of your opponents are pretty tight in the blinds. Which of the following hands should you most likely fold based on your opponents opening range?
o 22 o QJs o KTo o A5s
QUESTION 2 (Effective stacks of 40 BBs)
A short stack player that is fairly fishy open raises in a full ring game to 3 BBs from the cut-off. You don't have many hands on him, but so far it seems he's opening at least 25% of hands from that position, and has a total VPIP of 36% and a PFR of 12%. The action folds to you in the big blind. Which of these hands should you fold?
o A7o o J9s o QTo o 66

First example i'll go with KToff as well.

Second example ,i would probably be folding Qtoff if i had to chose one of the four but if hes opening that wide i dont mind 3betting all of these hands.

I'm not going to say what the correct answers are, this was just a sample of how the workbook is going to look. There's fill in the blank and multiple choice.

I'd like to finish off the 3-betting chapter. I'm trying to make myself an open resource here, so any questions, or hands you want to post in regards to this section I'll happily answer.

I'm not a big fan of "group coaching" tbh.

It's going to be a small group though, and it's free.

Well, not to nit-pick or anything, but it's technically not free :) Just very very cheap. :D

Not sure what you mean, but I am tired, so perhaps I'm missing some of the wit.

Any ways, for those how would like some free coaching. Just do the like, and then go here tmw (early halloween adventure, or late depending on where you are).

http://gowoa.me/i/VTz
I'll have it open at 4:15pm EST to whenever.

Technically we have to provide a good/service of liking the page (which obviously has value). But again, I wouldn't classify the "cost" of that as particularly high.

Really? How much does it cost you to like it? I charge $165/hr for coaching.

If you didn't get anything out of us liking your page, you wouldn't ask. I wasn't bashing your coaching in any way. Just pointing out that there is a trade happening.

Thanks for pointing that out. That was helpful, but it's still free. Doesn't cost you anything.

I gave spriro free coaching today. He had an even worse and more burdensome task than clicking a like button. He had to read this thread and participate. I ask so much, and give so little.

You're welcome, my pleasure. I think you know what to work on, and that should give you plenty to think about going forward. I'll check back with you in a week or so and see how the changes are coming.

Sounds good. Gonna be focusing on plugging those leaks you noticed and hopefully things will start to look better.

Time(hands ) will tell. Again thank you.

Agreed. :)

The primary point about why I'm here doing this on Cardschat is because I want to help CC become the poker forum leader. I want to expose people to our brand and products, because I genuinely know they will help players. Lastly, I just enjoy helping and teaching because it's a great way to become better yourself. I think some people think, someone teaches because they can't do. However, I've found that it's a primary reason I've become so good. If I have to teach someone about narrow turn fold equity, I better know and understand exactly what I'm saying and teaching. It pushes me to become better.

Geesh, okay, unsubbing. Again, wasn't bashing anyone or anything. Tried to be a little fun-poking, but apparently it was too much, so I'll just leave if I offended everyone itt.

Genuine wishing everyone the best though - see a lot of good development going on here. GL all.

My brother used to punch me, and then say, "just kidding." He always thought it was funny. He was joking of course.

Any ways, no need to get dramatic. Just let it go and move on. You don't need to unsub because you said something dumb and then got called out. It happens, I still love you. haha
