Haven't played much online or live.
I did play one session of 2/5 night before last. I some how managed to lose a bi. No hand i was involved in was that interesting, but there was this hand i got to watch go down.

UTG ~$300
UTG+1 ~$600
BB ~$800

UTG calls $5, UTG+1 raises to $35, BB calls $35, UTG raises to $120, UTG calls $120, BB goes all in for ~$800, UTG calls, UTG +1 calls.

BB had 79s, UTG had KK, UTG+1 had AJo. Flop came with 2 A's, easy game. :)

Sometimes you just get whittled away and none of your cbets work... Not that tough to lose a BI in a session where you just don't get anything going.

Lol'd at that hand. Limp, raise, limp, limp/3bet, call, cold-call/4bet... call call. Too good :D

I especially liked BB's play.

My wife arranged a home game last night. SNG form, just a $10 BI. Where 3rd got money back, 2nd got 3x bi, Winner got 5x BI. I went out first in game 1. End of the first game they did a deal with 4 left. Chip lead got $25, $20 for the other 3. Then those 3 high carded for the extra $5.

Game two, i was chip leader when 3 handed. My wife got pissed at me when i wouldn't split $30 a piece. Finally took a $40-$30-$20 in my favor. Now i'm only down about $100 for food beer etc. :)

Had another home game this past Sat. It's hard to please everyone. Basicly everyone wants to play 2 games. We start at ~7-8pm. We all have kids, so i made this structure.
Starting chips 3k. Blinds go up every 20 minutes.
25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, 300/600,500/1k I skiped the 400/800 level and caped it at 1k.
The biggest problem is, almost everyone is drinking and talking shit. So there is maybe 3 hands getting dealt every blind level. An they started bitching about the blinds going up to fast. I tried to tell them, that if they wanted to get two games in with any hope of finishing ~ 12:00-1:00 this is the only way.
Right?
In other news i'm in Chicago. Closet poker room is only ~30 miles away. It's Chicago traffic though so i don't even know if i'll try to make it or not.

You using 2 decks for your home game? If not do so ASAP and you'll at least double your hands. Just let the current SB shuffle 1 deck while the current hand is being dealt and then they're ready to go as soon as the current hand ends.

I had one typo in my previous post. The starting stack is 4k. figured i've leave a little room for "some play".
I'll give it a shoot WV. I'm not sure how well it will work o. With someone always takeing a piss, getting a beer, fixing them a plate, eating etc.

I've listened to all of Bart's Cash Plays, Deuce Plays and Deuce Plays Premium podcasts. Pretty good content, and some classic interviews, especially with Limon, highly recommended.

Thanks JB :) seat open poker has been on my radar for a while now actually a s I may take a look at it once I've gotten through more of my current poker resources. I recently signed up for a couple new things so I want to see how those go before adding anything else on.

Ok a few hands I promised. First of all, I was tired and not on my A game to say the least.
Game 2/5nl at least 2 regs in the game. Could tell from them talking to the dealers, and other players stoping an chatting with them.

Hand 1
I have no freaking clue why I limped. I would normally never limp here. The next play was me tring to get out of the stupid limp play.
Hero UTG +1 ~$450 Ah7h
Fold, Hero calls $5, folds, CO (reg) raises to $25, BTN calls, Hero thinks and makes it $85
Thoughts…

Hand 2
This is vs the same villain the isoed me in hand 1.
Hero BTN ~$400 KsQs
UTG calls $5,folds,HJ calls $5, CO raises to $25, Hero calls, UTG calls, HJ folds
Flop
K47 rainbow
UTG checks, CO bets,$45,Hero calls $45,UTG calls $45
Turn 4
UTG checks, CO checks hero bets $85, UTG raises to $200, CO tank folds, Hero tanks ???
WTF is tring to rep here? Stack size makes it so strange.

Hand 3
Villain new player that just set down to my left.
Hero UTG with ~$700 QQ
Hero raises to $20,UTG +1 calls $20, folds , SB calls $20.
Flop QhJhTs
Hero bets $45,UTG raises to $90,SB folds, Hero calls
Turn mother ****ing As
Hero checks, villain bets $110, hero calls
River 6d
Hero checks, villain checks
I wanted to raise the flop ,but idk????

Hand 4
MP in this hand just replaced the reg that was in hand 1,and hand 2. He was obv drunk and extremely reckless.
Hero BB ~$1k TJo
Folds,MP calls $5, BTN calls $5
Flop JJ3 rainbow
Hero checks, MP bets $60,BTN calls $60,Hero( says wtf this doesn’t make any sense to his self) then calls $60.
Turn Q
Hero checks , MP bets $5, BTN calls, Hero raises to $ 200, MP folds, BTN shoves for like $235.

Hand of the night I wasn’t involved in but was ****ing awesome.
At this time the very drunk guy from the hand above. Has gotten caught bluffing in like every pot.
He raises preflop to I think $20, reg at the table 3bets to $55 it folds back around to the drunk player who goes all in for $700 effective stacks. Reg starts to tank, says I think this hand is good if not we are flipping etc. after like 2-3 min in the tank the reg shows QJo which pisses me off that he is obv wasting my time. Then says I think it’s good etc. Then the drunk player says no I got a pair. The reg says what pair? Drunk guy flips over 99 an says that pair. Reg snap calls, an bricks off. Awesome hand though.

O The funny little thing i did in Tyler's, Dueces, and Ducky's thread. Had a little truth to it i did blow my Bovada roll playing 400nl HU.

Hand 1, meh, if reg thinks you could be a fish then this is a fine recovery play imo, but if he sees you as decent I'm more inclined to fold after limping and seeing that raise.

Hand 2, can UTG not have A4 or something? You said he's a reg, so is something like A4s in his UTG limping range? seems an odd spot for him to x/c the flop, but he could easily have flopped a set and turned a boat if he's limping mid PP's UTG (wouldn't surprise me). If he's solid though he may decide that CO is done with the hand and that you're doing what you're doing (value betting a medium strength hand). So my action depends on how good I think UTG is I guess.

Hand 3, 3bet/gii on flop seems the only good way to go since we hate like half the deck.

Hand 4, Lol action seems fine tbh. Kinda bizarre but he will likely get it in with any J, and it seems like he might open AJ for an unopened pot in MP, but I guess that's up for debate. But nh, think you played it well.

Also, what do you think of reg's call? Imo it's pretty awful to take that flip for 700 effective stacks with only 755 in the pot. He had to call 645 to win 755 right? So technically a -EV play (he needs 46% equity and he has 45%), but even if it were marginally +EV this seems like a terrible call against such a weak player where you don't need to take such high variance spots... Fun hand though.

Sick about blowing your roll. I dropped a lot lately but still alive and kicking. Plus I'm at school so have a windows comp and have converted my 15k cash hands so I can do some session review (yay).

Hand 1 yeah i think at this point reg thought i was a fish. Hell i played it like a fish. Which means he his raising like all his KQ,AJ like hands. So i said **** it an limp, raised. IMO he can't call/raise unless KK+ in that spot if he thinks i'm a fish limp raising.

Hand 2 i tanked for a while. Smiled an said to him "that is such a BS line, such a bluff, such a damn bluff" then i folded. He said "you fold a King" i said "hell no middle pair". He said" it was such a good spot for you to try to steal i couldn't help my self" then fliped over A high. Then said" i could have a set there"
I knew he was full of shit.... Damn

Hand 3
agree i should of just got it in. When the river went c/c i knew i had the best hand. he just mucked. I'm guessing maybe a heart draw with a 9???

Hand 4
Villain showed AQ like it was the nuts are something
Thanks!!!

Untill i stoved it i thought it was a slim +EV play. Maybe by like 1-2%. That given, it was clear the drunk guy was spewing so much i don't think i would of called there. I mean that reg snaped moved table positions to be to the drunk guys direct left. So... i don't hate it, but don't think i would've done the same.

I mean don't get me wrong I'm all for taking +$7 EV spots (which that spot isn't), but usually not when the standard deviation is gonna be like $500 or something absurd. I guess if he's super-rolled for live (which most people aren't, even regs it seems), then taking such a high variance spot is ok, but it takes so long to converge on a situation like that that I'm not sure I go for it. I'd have to think about it though.

If the hands are reversed it's a clear snap call though.

My poker night has morphed into a game of spades.

Yeah the latest fad at the Poker Club is Badugi. This is after 7-card showdown, draw Omaha and night baseball have had their turns as the fad. Usually have 30 minutes before and after the cash games for this degenerate stuff.
