It is hard for me to think of poker as a sport. Thats not being bias on cards I think like that for everything else. Its like when I here strippers say pole dancing is a sport... Its dancing... swimming is swimming and skating is skating. I feel as if the game needs the ball or puck. Even rugby ect are sports but if your based on judging no sports.
Poker is not a Sport, if it was you could train and the more you train the best you should be.
In poker you need some training but there is always the Variance involved, so no matter how well train you are a bad beat will hit you anytime and sometimes several times in a row. That's why there is bankroll management. :deal:
Ten years ago I would say poker was more a pass time. However with all the advertising and tv appearances, it seems like its becoming a sport quickly with all the tournements and game play available. It's true you can train and practice to be the best but like a sport sometimes it's just not your time to win. I suppose it depends on what your definition of a sport is.
Poker is a game of chance, citing the fact that the game is played for money, the result of the game largely depends on the cards, there is no logical component
ESPN covers the Spelling Bee as a "sport", kind of. Some consider chess a sport; however, I don't think of either as a sport. Poker isn't a sport either.
Hi friend, just like you, I think poker is a sport because you constantly have to be creating plays to get the chips of the players and likewise so that you do not take away your chips so I think it's a good sport where Mind is used constantly.
