Can't believe we got Chelsea yet again! Personally, I'd rather have seen Chelsea or Liverpool get ManU - but it looks like ManU have an easy passage into the semis.

Arsenal has a tough game against Villareal. They should progress, but it will be close.

ManU - Arsenal in the semis will be interesting. It will depend on whether Arsenal's form picks up, and if Fabregas gets fit, I think. If and if - they have a chance.

Barca/Bayern - probably Barca, but not a given after Bayern's 12 goals in the last round.

Which brings us back to LFC/Chelsea. It will be close, again. If LIverpool has Gerrard and Torres fit and don't mess up in the home game - any win with a clean sheet - they will progress.

Whoever wins that game will win the semi, making another all English final.

watched the UEFA cup last year, it has being ages since I had access to watch a good soccer game, spent my whole youth imitating previous Brazilian soccer players, but now in the States soccer has lost it's taste to me, it is so frigging technical, if sex ever becomes so technical I would have no more pleasures in life. Had to agree with the previous comment about the MLS being one of the weakest leagues out there and I kind of understand, they don't see any relation between being creative and soccer, so now my precious art has being turned into a frigging science no wander the US mens team never win anything, but the women team make me proud and turned on , that what happens when you mix two of my favorite pleasures together.

I am a Manchester United Fan who will never spend a minute watching any MLS games, because I can always find something better to do or watch, dam the soaps are even preferable to an MLS game, thanks for Fox soccernet.

As far as the champions League goes, I think you Liverpool fans should be grateful and very pleased you avoided Man Utd and Barcelona in the draw.
Avoiding the two favorites is the best outcome you could ever of hoped for this late in the competition surely.
I would imagine both Man Utd and Barcelona are very pleased with their draws while Porto and Bayern are not ecstatic with theirs. All of the other 4 teams however, should be pretty much happy with the way things have turned out.

Semi-final places?, hmmmmmm.....................

Barcelona
Chelsea
Man Utd
Villarreal

Very tough to call though and could be any of the 8 on their day tbh.

LMAO Liverpool should be grateful?????? they are ranked no1 in Europe over the last 5 years, 2 Barca legends said last weekend they were hoping not to get Liverpool, and based on Barca's form of late they arent exactly on fire. They have let a 12 point lead in the league slip to just 5 now (I think it is).
Liverpool have done the double over both Chelsea and Utd this season and destroyed Madrid who are the form team in Spain. Utd got the gift of being drawn against the 3 teams most would have wanted in 1/4's and possible semi so they are the lucky ones.

I think Utd will beat Porto, Liverpool will beat Chelsea and Barca will beat Bayern, the only tough one to call for me is Arse V Villareal

safc would be Southampton? If so, you must meet Beardyian.....you two could be pals! Or maybe not.....

Grats Ian on the win - glad you won, glad Everton lost and glad that an ex-Red (who I thought did very well at LFC given his limited opportunities) did the damage - all good!

Also very, very glad to see Fulham leading 1-0 at half time with ManU down to 10 men.....that would make things interesting.....we will see. Long way to go yet and we all know how ManU pull the horeshoe out in the last 10 minutes!

BTW, I think I also predicted a Pompey win - but 1-0 not 2-1.

Wow! 2-0 Fulham. Rooney off. That is Vidic, Scholes & Rooney all suspended next week when they play Villa......

Chelsea losing at Spurs 1-0, Liverpool have to beat Villa Sunday to really apply some pressure.

I thought the title race was over several weeks ago, but maybe not.......

As someone once said - 'Football, its a funny old game'

If Chelsea manage to beat Spurs, or Liverpool beat Villa, then Uniteds lead is just 1 point

As for the bottom half of the table - Pompey are just 3 points of the bottom 3 but also 3 points off 10th place :eek:

Nightmare if you're a United fan. Only consolation was Spurs beating Chelsea and if Villa can pull off a surprise against Liverpool (they are more than capable of doing so) it won't be the disaster it looks now.

It was all going so well until that Liverpool game a week ago...

LMAO Liverpool should be grateful???

The Liverpool FANS here who expressed concern at drawing Chelsea, NOT LFC.

they are ranked no1 in Europe over the last 5 years

My turn to LMAO, 2004 - 5 - 6 - 7 has little or no baring on CL 2009, only 2008 could have some influence on it, maybe.

2 Barca legends said last weekend they were hoping not to get Liverpool

One current Liverpool legend ( SG ) said last weekend he hoped they would draw Porto or Villarreal. Which two Barca legends do you speak of btw?

Liverpool have done the double over both Chelsea and Utd this season and destroyed Madrid who are the form team in Spain.

So to draw Chelsea after already doing the double against them this season obviously isn't something for Liverpool FANS here expressing their concerns, to be grateful about? Madrid the form team? - My god the Spanish league must be in an awful state then. :p

Utd got the gift ----------- so they are the lucky ones.

Yep, Utd got the "gift" by overcoming the mighty Inter Milan in the last 16, very "lucky" indeed. :joyman:

Im pretty confident LFC will progress against Chelsea but i still whanted any other team simply because LFC-CFC games are usualy not much entertainment value.

Yeah it kinda does. LFC has been the most sucesfull team in Europe and KO competions since Rafa took over, love him or hate him he is a genius when it comes to these formats.

Ofcourse every one whanted Porto or Villarreal The are the weakest teams left in the competion.

Hmmm, is that actually true ....................

Rafa :
FA Cup - 2006
League cup - XXXX
CL - 2005

Fergie :
FA Cup - XXXX
League Cup - 2006 2009
CL - 2008

The above are just the European and KO competitions you speak of. I left out Super Cups & World Club Cups as they are not KO formats as such. If you are talking about 2nd's 3rd's and 4th's etc, well, hmmmmm who cares. :D

Ronaldo showed why he's just not the best in the world. He's not in Messi's league. You would never see that sort of blatant petulance and arrogance from Messi. Man Utd are slipping up off late, but they will still win the title, they have such a deep squad, a couple of suspensions won't make a tremendous amout of difference. Ferguson will make sure they don't just capitulate.

Really worried about my team, Newcastle, at the moment, things are just not good. Our managers off work indefinitely, we have 7 out injured, a number of whom are important players for us and we just cannot buy a win at the moment. I can genuinely seeing us being another Leeds if we go down.

Oh and Barca, if they play at something like 70% of their best will win the Champion's League. They are just special
