Would like to see a German v Holland final being as the Dutch hate the Germans, so there is a strong rivalry between them hopefully resulting in an interesting match.:D

Great game Holland-Uruguay, bye Uruguay.

I think everyone expect Germany win, i do expect that also, but i like that Spain win, i hope they play way better this time, Villa need to be the Heroe.

Like some people comment, this game is like the true final of the world cup, who ever win from Spain-Germany will be the champion, not for do less holland but i think so.

And also who ever lost on this game will be the 3rd place, i don´t think Uruguay can´t beat any of them.

Very good luck to Spain

Have to disagree one both bolded counts.
Spain have been playing in first gear the whole tournament, mostly because they havent had a oponent yet thats tought enough to challenge them(some might argue portugal, I will not).
They havent been showing great football but they have sailed through and I think they will get going against Germany, the talent and raw skills is just so great in the Spanish team.

Germany have been great so far but it will be interesting to see how they do with out Muller on the right wing, he(along with Schweinsteiger) has been much more impressive then the much praised Özil imo.

I think/hope Spain will get going tonight and reach the finals.

As for this beeing the "real" final, what a lot of crap.
Granted, who ever wins this game will be favorites in the finals but lets not forget that Holland have won 14 competive matches in a row and have a attacking line up most teams would envy.
I suspect alot of people talking down the Dutch team only do so because they dont like that they have changed there playing style from the free flowing all out attacking play to a more disaplined approch...

When something in football's accepted wisdom changes, it becomes just an extension of the original stereotype. Every bit as exaggerated, every bit as unrealistic.

Consider some facts: Holland came into the tournament off the back of a 19-game unbeaten run that now stands at 25, they won all eight games in qualifying and all six in South Africa.
They are averaging two goals a game in South Africa, and have two legitimate candidates for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award (Sneijder and Robben).
Plus they have scored no end of quality goals.

Im gearing up for the game tonight. I think the German team plays in high gear when they are handicapped - speak no Ballack, and now no Müller - And Özil is a good player, tho he has been missing the "Final Table" this WC, meaning he has been good at setting up but not scoring, maybe he will play good under pressure tonight. Of course, since I live in Germany, and its mainly my wife that is the soccer fan, I know more about he German players than the Spanish ones, but I know Spain will be a tough nut to crack, so no wagers from me on this one. I would like to see a Holland-German final, and I believe it is a coin toss, but if Germany can keep the game they had against argentina w/o Müller, then it looks good.

Valid points here - the german coach said today that he sees the Spanish team as role model for the German team....

Toni Kroos will probably replace Müller - a completely different player type (he was scheduled for replacing Schweinsteiger / Khedira if needed).

Kroos may not be as effective in the offense as Müller but he is a very strong free-kick and corner specialist - two fields where the German game hasn't been that good during the WC.

Btw most German analysts agree that Kroos is the most talented young midfielder in the German team.

Uruguay won the World Cup twice back in the early days of the tournament in 1930 and 1950.

Against Ozil was out of the penalty area so just a free kick there that makes only 1 penalty:)

I'm not sure about two maybe 1 - but spain could have easily scored 4 goals and deserved to win.

The German team is still very young and might have another chance the next years.

Unlucky to the German supporters here. Spain were the better team, but I am sure Germany could play better than they did. But Germany had a fine World Cup, with a squad that will probably get to play at least 2 more together.

I would not have minded seeing Germany in the final because they have been probably the most entertaining team to watch overall.

But this final means a new winner of the trophy, and that is good for the game I think.

I work for a Dutch company here in the US so my allegiance is there, but will not mind if Spain wins either. I hope it is a great final.

Germany were missing in action tonight or maybe Spain just made them look like that, Im not sure. But Spain had control of the whole game-I rewatched it at the airport and Spain were almost through about 3 times but for a lucky German toe getting to the ball at full stretch. I think Germany were lucky with a 1-0 score line. Gonna miss them Germans in the final because they played some really attractive football-maybe they can perform in the 3rd playoffs vs Uruguay one more time for the football fans.

Pedro you greedy little dog!!!! Give the ball to Torres and he woulda broken his goal drought and he woulda been fired up for the final-Pedro playing for team Pedro insead of Spain he must warm the bench as punishment!!

Germany finally came up against a team who were tactically/technically better than them, both England and Argentina were naive playing against a german side who like to counter attack. The Spanish on the other hand like to retain possesion and will be very patient giving the Germans less chance to counter quickly with the Spanish not pushing too many too far forward too often. The Dutch V Spain will be a good match up and as Geesho said its nice to see a new name on the trophy rather than the same old ones.

Got to watch about three minutes of the game today. Sigh. But was busy at work, and convinced boss to turn it on, but was to busy to watch. There was nothing in the world that would make my grandfather happier than watching something like this. To some this is more than about football. Let's go Spain! Ir España. Tome este bebé hacia abajo. Aligual que mi abuelo decía. Shoot Shoot Shoot. Si esta cerca. Thisi s nuestra Copa del Mundo. Muy Muy bien done.Iam orgulloso de llamarme español.:)

A well deserved win for Spain. The writing was on the wall in the first few minutes of play. Germany was not on at all, and Spain was kickin from the get-go.

My wife is sad, shes a real fan, she watches all the time, regular games, Champions league, European cup, whatever. So I may have to cancel my (new) regular local live game. lol, I say regular, I only found it 2 weeks ago and have played twice..lol, tonight will be my third, but I may need to be a shoulder for her instead..... Germany, if you had won I could play poker tonite......

Spain are technically superior, and they deserved to beat the Germany, but I just cannot fake the genuine exhilaration some sides give you.Football might be entertainment, but the best football is not always the most fun to watch.
