One more:
Portugal 0-0 Brazil

Which imo was a pretty poor match, portugal diving all over the place as usual, no Brazillians shots to mention and just how far back Ronaldo going for his free-kicks?

Spain vs Chile

1st goal - obviously Chile's goalkeeper has been watching the David James blueray goalkeeping DVD collector's edition.

Im so glad both Chile and Spain got through. 2 of the most entertaining team in the competition.
Chile have no idea what defending is so the either attack for 90min or start giving away countless fouls, both of which make there games fun to watch.

Chile-brazil should be a great game, same as Spain-Portugal.

Yes Viva La the second most boring team in the competion that has allready been eliminated!

I hope them Italian citizens didn't throw tomatoes at their football players like the way they did to 1966 national football members because they lost to North Korea.

Too bad South Korea lost. Getting to 2nd round was the best they hoped for anyways. Just next time in the future, they'll get to quarterfinals.

Looks like its going to overtime.
I want to see a penalty shoot out, Ghana much better in the first half but the US have been dominating the second, so it would be pretty fair on balance of play.

The US are really pressing now.
Would be surprised if they equalized.

USA demonstrates that they are utterly incapable of learning anything from their mistakes, that's gonna spark a resurgence of interest in the sport here. RIP American soccer.

Deserved win imo.
US where great in the second half but the first half and extra time(apart from the last 3min) the just seemed jaded and non interested.

Had the draw at full time @ 9/4:) . I knew Ghana should not be underestimated and again they looked solid. The USA were very hard working again but lacked anything special - well played to them for getting this far. Uruguay will probably edge Ghana out in the 1/4 final though.

Now we turn our attention to England vs germany. I just have the feeling that Germany are a little worried and may contrive to get an English player sent off. The English (of course) are not smart enough to see this coming. I hope I'm wrong but I'll put it out there and post here when it happens.

I was all over the place in that Ghana USA game!!! In the first half I wanted Ghana to win. Then in the 2nd half USA looked twice as strong and I wanted them to win. Then Gyan didnt go down like a sack of potatoes to a little nudge like every other strike in this world cup and I wanted them to hold on for the win!

If they beat a very strong Urugauy team in the quarters they will be the first African team to make the semis. Go Ghana!!!

And USA were very impressive and showed some of the biggest heart the world cup 2010 had to offer! you should be proud of their performance! they played like champs and with a 300 million population it wont be long before they become a top 5 team in the world.

Engalaan Engalaan engalaaaaan!!! Destroy the Germans tomorrow!!! Come lads take them down.

And when will China and india start dominating?

US soccer is getting better, but there's still a long way to go. Until soccer becomes one of the most popular sports there, they won't be able to compete with the top european and south american teams.

Uruguay has a population of only 3.5 million and they keep raising great players.

+1.
Its has less to do with quantity and more to do with training quality.
Its no coincidence that Spain has one of the highest ratio of pro licence coaches/per player and one of the most technicly gifted sides...
