Kind-of surprised to hear that Pothole even cares about Olympic hockey.....being that they are all pros, you know, and according to him none of them should even be there. Confuseder and confuseder.

Dream on.

Last Olympics we were 1-1 against you guys. And even made it to OT in the Gold Medal game. At least this time we won't have the sissy Miller in net with a gapping 5 hole. My guess is Quick will be USA's starter.

What are you talking about? if it's hockey, I have no interest whatsoever in who wins what.

See, that's what I thought from our earlier discussion of pros in the Olympics. Your last post just threw me a bit.

On a different note, and to continue the derail..... Does your son still compete? I don't know much about curling, but it seems like it's a sport where, if you're good, you could be good for a really long time. I'm saying this strictly as an uninformed, casual observer, but what I mean is it doesn't seem like age would be much of an issue where younger guys have a distinct advantage and can quickly push you out. Just curious.

He took 2 years off after having surgery on his knee ( normal in curling, knees take a pounding ). He has a new team this winter who will be trying for the Nationals.

Mo Farah genuine legend, distance double with two superb performances. Every time they got close, he pushed again. Absolutely magnificent

Don't want to rub it in, but our television coverage has been - quite frankly - extraordinary. 24 high definition channels available to those with Sky. Those without had a good selection channels to choose from at a time, or could watch any sport live on the BBC's iplayer service

Not only has the coverage itself been impressively widespread, the quality of the coverage has been very, very good. The commentary and analysis of sports we might not be familiar with has been nigh on excellent across the board.

Above all else though, we've had Michael Johnson, and you should be jealous of that, very jealous indeed. I hope the Beeb continues to pay him a sack full of cash because he's worth every penny

U.S. ladies 1500 meter runner, Uceny, tripped up and fell down on final lap.
She has the energy to slap her arms into the track several times in anger, but not enough energy to get back up and finish the race. Less than 4 minutes to walk what was remaining of the race. Some spoiled ballerinas this year. Maybe it's just me, but it would have spoke volumes to finish the race.

One of my American cousins has been in the UK during the Olympics and she says we are really lucky here, because the BBC is so much better than anything back home in the States that it embarrasses her.

She says that a lot of American TV is not of a standard that the British would consider acceptable for children to watch.

People in the UK rag on the BBC a lot without understanding that it's quite easily one of the best if not the best news broadcaster in the world.

Well, I can assure you that a lot of American TV is not of a standard that this adult would consider acceptable to watch.
I turned on NBC, either Friday evening prime time or Saturday afternoon prime time to see what was happening & was treated to a feature on the Dream Team, I assume this was because, well actually I have no clue why this was on, much like most of the coverage.
