NBA
Indiana Pacers @ Chicago Bulls:
Chicago Bulls (to win) /// 2.00
Last bet won. Milwaukee destroyed Brooklyn's reserve lineup by 22 points! Jacque Vaughn - this man is the main sponsor of my winning bet. Yes, sure, Brooklyn had a back-to-back with Milwaukee, but to so blatantly involve load management? Well I laughed for two minutes when I realized during the game that Brooklyn would no longer let Mikal Bridges, Cam Thomas, Dayron Sharpe and Royce O'Neale on the basketball court for the 3rd and 4th quarters. I even watched Jacque Vaughn's post-game press conference afterward and laughed out loud when he tried to explain his decision. Come on, Brooklyn is not the Clippers, where key players are over 32 years old! Why are you, as a head coach, making such a circus? Let's be honest it's not fair play! Anyway, if the NBA doesn't punish Brooklyn for blatant load management, then remember for the future: other teams will do the same. And then the back-to-backs will guarantee that in one game out of two the reserve will play, not the main roster. Maybe we should forbid back-to-backs and plan the calendar of games without them? The question is open and we'll see if Brooklyn gets punished. The total score of my bets: NBA 27-31 in favor of the unsuccessful, MLB 30-27 in favor of the successful, NFL+NCAAF 3-7 in favor of the unsuccessful.
New bet: Chicago will beat Indiana. A month ago, I would have bet on Indiana without a doubt. But now Chicago is in incredible shape! And Indiana? They played great, by the way, against the Rockets, but..... that's Indiana. The Pacers can't be stable. But Chicago, even without Vucevic and LaVine, beat Atlanta. And Andre Drummond showed that he can easily substitute Vucevic. Yes, Chicago doesn't have a back-up center now (or rather, they do, and it's Adama Sanogo, but he played 0 seconds in the NBA, so Chicago doesn't have a back-up center). Is that a problem? Andre Drummond was able to convince me in the Hawks game that it's not a problem (39 minutes, 24 points, 25 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks!). LaVine not playing at all has been a huge benefit to Chicago, oddly enough. So I don't see much of a problem if Nikola Vucevic doesn't play. What about Indiana? The starting small forward, Bruce Brown, will not play. This basketball player is really great on defense (steals, rebounds, personal defense - at the highest level). And don't let his 11.6 point average on the season bother you. This player proved his worth in a championship season for Denver. I mean, Bruce Brown not playing is a serious loss for Indiana. Yes, of course, there is someone to substitute him, but it won't be an equal substitution in terms of defense. In the last 10 games between Chicago and Indiana the score is 6-4 in favor of the Bulls. Chicago is playing at home. And the bookies are wrong again, giving odds of 2.00 on Chicago's victory! Shall we bet? Sure!
