cain velasquez surprised me by losing his fight with Werdum not prepared decently but no doubt that it is the strongest athlete that weight and return to win his title . I was a bit sad for the jose aldo has injured fighting with Gregor mac promised a lot.

So after watching a bunch of tape and doing even more reading... I still have NFI who's gonna win out of Mendes or McGregor.
A lot of people seem to think that Mendes will just take McGregor down and have his way with him. I'm not entirely sure it'll play out that way, for a few reasons. One is we've never really seen McGregor's takedown defense - I can't imagine it's something he's ignored though, so it's possible we'll see some Jedrzejczyk v Esparza style stuffing going on. Another is that I'm not entirely sure Mendes isn't the kind of wrestler who's fallen in love with his striking to the point where he may not go to his wrestling early and often like people expect him to...
That said, McGregor has proven at least a little hittable in his previous UFC fights and if Mendes does get him down it could be a long, boring night. He showed signs of a very good top game in the Holloway fight, solid guard passes etc. But like his takedown defense, we've never seen his bottom game so who knows how he'd do with Mendes on top of him.

Watched a bunch of Lawler / MacDonald tape last night - I think it'll be close, and go to the judges the majority of the time. Everyone's saying that MacDonald has gotten so much better since they fought last... I'm not 100% sure whether that's actually the case, or if it's just fighting some lesser opponents that made him look better.
I'm betting this one goes over 3.5 rounds (@ $1.51) and I'm taking a small punt on Lawler (@ $2.49) as well, think it should be a lot closer to even money.

Yeah I have money on Mendes. I have my fingers crossed.
It would be good for the UFC if Conor McGregor wins though. Aldo vs Mendes 3 isn't too exciting. So it's win win for me in an optimistic way. LOL
I just hope it's a 5 round war. I swear if Mendes sandbags and loses on purpose, I'm going on TILT. Uncle Dana better not have influenced Chad to take a fall.

Unrelated - these new Reebok fight trunks are awful. Boring too, absolutely zero character, but worse than that they've somehow managed to make the "black" and "white" versions look very similar to each other.
I know they've argued that they need to have uniforms like other professional sports, but no professional sports let the two teams wear uniforms that look this similar...

The whole Reebok thing is ridiculous and it's costing the fighters $$.
