Hello everyone,

For the most part, poker is a selfish endeavor. Players either win or lose on their own merit. It’s a lonely affair.
Because of this, players tend to come face to face with an existential quandary – what do I have to offer the world?

For many, the answer is philanthropy, and in the poker community, that oftentimes means donating to charity.
https://www.888poker.com/magazine/poker-world/the-connection-between-charity-and-poker/
Whether it’s pledging a portion of their winnings, supporting organizations through their play (i.e. Little One for One Drop), or participating in charity events, players have plenty of opportunities to make a difference.

Welcome to 888poker’s Weekly Deal, with all the best news, results and insights from the past week.

THIS WEEK: October 29, 2017

“Chocolatey” Wins Mega Deep for $19,618

Last week, Russia’s “BillyBon8” won both the Baby Whale and GREAT 8 in a single day. On Sunday, he nearly captured another prestigious title on 888poker when he finished seventh in the $215 buy-in Mega Deep for $2,595.

That tournament drew 519 unique players, which surpassed the $100K GTD by creating a $103,800 prize pool. Among the 72 players to earn a piece of it were “mondango” (26th for $674.70), “HinduKrush” (14th for $1,038), and “TTliquorshop” (10th for $1,390.92).

After 10 hours and 52 minutes, it was Canada’s “Chocolatey” who beat out Lithuania’s “Deividukas13” for the title and $19,618.20 first-place prize. It was a nice win for “Chocolatey,” who back on June 18 finished runner-up in the $5,000 Hurricane for $1,431.
A Whale of a Score for “Imyurfriend”
The biggest buy-in of the week was the $1,050 Whale, which featured a $150K GTD. The tournament drew 106 players who rebought 44 times to create a total field of 150 entries. That meant 15 players got paid including “SkallePer58” (12th for $3,600), “Madeon1994” (7th for $6,375), Adrian “ADRI_ATM” Mateos (6th for $7,875), and “Namlleh” (3rd for $19,500).

After 8 hours and 43 minutes, the title came down to two German players. In the end, “DerEinzahlR” fell to “Imyurfriend,” who took down a $37,500 first-place prize. Earlier this year, “Imyurfriend” bested a field of 137 players to win the $50,000 Volcano for $18,193.
Chris Moorman Final Tables GREAT 8, Raphael “iBustYa888” Wimmer Wins
Our newest tournament, the $88 buy-in Sunday GREAT 8 saw its guarantee upped from $30K to $40K, and players responded as 555 of them rebought 282 times to create a $66,960 prize pool. Among the 72 players to get paid were “nortel” (31st for $435.24), “morans350” (13th for $669.60), and a “SpitOnGraves” (11th for $897.26).

At the final table, all eyes were on 888poker Ambassador and the world’s most decorated online tournament player Chris “888Moorman” Moorman. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to add a new title to his historic résumé as he was eliminated in seventh place for $1,674.

After 13 hours and 10 minutes, it was Austria’s Raphael “iBustYa888” Wimmer who prevailed over Switzerland’s “stevachenko7” to win $12,655.44. It seems “8” is a lucky number for Wimmer, who at the beginning of the year finished sixth in the Super XL Event #8: Crazy 8 for $3,786.
“josetecrazy” Takes Down Tornado

The $109 buy-in, $15,000 GTD Sunday Tornado attracted 113 players who rebought 57 times, which created a $17,000 prize pool. Only 15 spots got paid, and among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Artem “veeea” Vezhenkov (15th for $357), “Travel99” (12th for $408), and “Davidkid15” (10th for $408).

Some familiar faces at the final table were “billycadu14” (7th for $722.50), “saiyajin1337” (5th for $1,105), and “josef_shvejk” (3rd for $2,210). After 6 hours and 35 minutes, the UK’s “josetecrazy” defeated Canada’s “DuduPa1986” in heads-up play to win $4,250.
Super XL Champ Wins Sunday Lighting 6-Max

This week’s $109 buy-in Sunday Lightning was the 6-Max edition, and 179 players who rebought 106 times crushed the $20K GTD by creating a $28,500 prize pool. That was paid out to the final four tables, including to Steven “Kale333” van Zadelhoff (23rd for $270.75), “RedPantRed” (14th for $356.25), “gnassil” (9th for $855), and final table bubble boy “E_Dub” (7th for $855).

After 7 hours and 54 minutes, Germany’s “dnvz23” defeated “POTITOOOOOOO” in heads-up play to win the $6,840 first-place prize. In February of last year, “dnvz23” won the Super XL Event #25: $150 Knockout for $6,753 plus $369 in bounties. Then, in May of last year, he won Event #39: $30,000 Super XL – Turbo Main Event for $8,246.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread for this question, but here goes.

I downloaded 888 Poker for the first time Saturday night so that I could play the CC freeroll on Sunday. I'm running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

While playing in the freeroll, I was active for over two hours, and twice 888 Poker "winked out". That is, completely shut down, without warning, in an instant. I would be playing and POOF it was gone. At first, I thought it was a matter of a table change - the table changes on 888 and party poker seemed like site crashes to me when I first experienced them after years on pokerstars. But that was not the case. The 888 window had simply shut down. At this time, I had a half dozen tabs running in Chrome, an image, and a Word document open on my computer. These were not affected as far as I know, but I was concerned mainly with frantically reopening 888. Each time I relaunched and opened 888 before missing any action (although I'm pretty sure one crash delayed my response to one action). No one on the table said "Whoa, what just happened" so I assumed that it was only me that had experienced this phenomenon.

Can anyone explain what happened and why? Thanks

I understand you are trying to improve the software but I think you introduced many bugs in the process.

The challenges are not working properly and the "activate" button always give an error message (By the way what is the activate button; I received no email to explain it). There are also many other bugs in the challenges that I did not have before. I completed some challenges and never got the scratch cards.

Finally some tourneys take a long time to register and I also had problems with the play speed in some tournaments. I could only play 1 hand every 5 minutes and the blinds were still going up normally.

Fix your bugs please.

And while we are at it with bugs; I also have a problem with stuck tickets from old promotions in my account.

I'd like them to be removed without messing up my other tickets if possible!

OK I don't know where to begin because there are so many bugs right now with your promotions. I'll try but I think I should be paid to test your software.

1) The new Strike the Chip promo: 2 times out of 3 I get the error screen seen below. I can deal with that; I don't really mind.

2) In Strike the Chip the date is wrong we are November 7 2017 NOT Nov 8!

3) I decided to do a challenge anyway and I won more than 10 hands at Snap 2c/5c. Of course my Challenges completed are still at 0/3 and 0/7!

4) I got 2 other open support tickets that are only partially resolved and it would take another post to explain the situation.

I know it's a mouthful but it is what it is. And I'm posting here because when I deal directly with support they tell me I'm the ONLY player with those issues. Obviously I'm not if I read the posts in this thread!

Hopefully you can correct those bugs.

Same here. (UnrealDonk)

Surprisingly I did receive an allin ticket for my completed challenge yesterday (win 10 hands at 2c/5c cash).

I have a question: What's the challenge today?

I uninstalled and re-installed and finally was able to load the promotion

My "Today's Challenge" is place 5 casino bets ($1), but it shows it for November 9. Did it anyways, but didn't get a ticket.

Hello everyone,
We are proud to announce Brazil’s Vivian “Vivi” Saliba as the latest addition to the 888poker Ambassadors team!
This past summer, the 24-year-old Saliba became the youngest female to enter the World Series of Poker Main Event, which she jumped into after notching a career-best $47,923 in Event #54: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.
It was just her second time at the WSOP, and her first playing the Main Event where she finished 421st place for $27,743.

I couldn't be happier about joining the 888 Team,” said Saliba.
As a professional poker player, I always looked forward to a partnership. 888poker is one of the biggest poker companies, and I am very fortunate to be a part of it. I am ready to give 100% and see us both growing together.”

Are you also here to help us?

Your promotion "strike the chips" don't work properly, so can you at least listen to us when we need you?

Look at this strange challenge :

As per the terms and condition :

‘Lucky’ Challenge:
Requires Players to place 5 bets in any casino games during a given day (GMT), with a minimum bet of US $1.
Some old versions of casino games may not be valid for this Challenge.

How much $5 we'll have to spend before finding a game that will be valid for the challenge :eek:
