Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, the XL Eclipse continued with 13 more tournaments from the 197-event schedule.
Day 11 of the online series saw “bzfrke” wins his second title in three days, while “slkshoota” turned $30 into $2,403.
Day 11 of the XL Eclipse hosted 13 more events, which means 143 tournaments from the 197- event schedule are now complete. It also means 139 have secured seats in the series-ending Champion of Champions Event (there have now been four two-time champs thus far). That tournament will take place on September 26 at 18:00 GMT and see the winner awarded a $13,000 package to the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe at King’s Rozvadov.
“bzfrke” Wins Second Title in Three Days On Wednesday, Croatia’s “bzfrke” became the fourth player to win two XL Eclipse titles. On Monday, he topped a field of 200 entries to win Event #110: $20,000 Crocodile for $6,450. He followed that up by besting a field of 482 entries in 8 hours and 57 minutes to win Event #136: $20,000 Monsoon for $4,579. The tournament surpassed its $20K GTD by creating a $24,100 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 63 spots and among those to cash were XL Inferno champ “Fukuruku” (61st for $106.04), “jmsantos10” (35th for $132.55), “sajtgul” (20th for $144.60), “Grindathon” (11th for $289.20), and Doug “PulledPorker” Lang (10th for $289.20).
“Smithstudent” Takes Down Biggest Prize of the Day The headliner tournament of the day was Event #137: $50,000 8-Max, which drew 584 players and created a prize pool of $58,400 prize pool. After 11 hours and 7 minutes, Russia’s “Smithstudent” finished as the last player standing to win. $10,920.80. Back in May, “Smithstudent” took down the XL Inferno Event #68: $15,000 Breeze for $2,902, meaning he’s not in the company of about a dozen players who’ve won both XL Inferno and Eclipse titles. Other 888poker success for “Smithstudent” include winning the $5,000 Typhoon for $1,851 back in December and taking down February’s $4,000 Twister for $1,483.
“slkshoota” Turns $30 Into $2,403 Event #141: $10,000 Turbo 8-Max attracted 460 players, which surpassed the advertised guarantee by creating a $12,650 prize pool. After just 3 hours sand 30 minutes, the UK’s “slkshoota” came out on top to turn his $30 buy-in into a $2,403.50 payday. This is the first time we’ve heard from “slkshoota” since January 2016 when he won two tournaments in back-to-back days.
